(KRYSTAL'S POV)
The first thing I feel is pain.
Not the dull kind.
Not the kind you can grit your teeth through.
This is sharp.
Heavy.
A brutal throbbing that feels like my head's been cracked open.
There's a high-pitched ringing inside my ears. It's so loud that it drowns everything else out.
For a moment I don't even know where I am.
Or what happened.
Then somewhere inside the ringing… I hear something.
A voice.
It sounds far away.
Muffled.
Like my head is being held underwater and someone is shouting at me from the surface.
The voice comes again.
Still muffled.
Still distant.
But slowly… painfully slowly… it starts getting clearer.
"Krystal…"
That voice.
I know that voice.
My brain struggles to latch onto it.
It cuts through the ringing again.
Closer this time.
"Krystal!"
It's Angelo's voice.
My eyelids flutter open.
At first, everything isn't just blurry. I can't make out shapes. And colors smear together.
