(KRYSTAL'S POV)
I step onto the balcony just as the call connects.
"Chelsea." My voice comes out low and urgent.
"Finally," she breathes. "I've been trying to reach you for the past twenty minutes."
I lean against the railing, the cool L.A. night air breezing past my skin. "I was preoccupied."
"Well, get un-preoccupied," she snaps. "I just found something."
My heart skips a beat. "What is it?"
"You've been flagged."
My breath catches in my throat. "What?!"
"Someone's digging into your history," she says. "Your birth records, your employment files. Your entire cover. It's subtle. Whoever it is, they're good. But not good enough to go completely unnoticed."
My head turns slowly and my eyes sweep across the villa behind me. The dark windows. The soft glow leaking through the curtains. All of a sudden the safehouse feels like it's looking back at me.
"Do you know who it is?" I ask.
