(RAFFAELE'S POV)
I press my hands against my head, trying to shield myself from the shower of glass as it rains down around us. My back slams against the edge of the table, the wood digging into my spine, and I feel Valentino mirrored beside me—his eyes wide with shock, his chest rising and falling fast.
At this moment, the world is nothing but chaos. Bullets whiz past us like angry hornets, clanging against metal and shattering more glass into raining shards.
My ears are ringing, the sound of the shots echoing in my skull until suddenly….
Silence.
A surreal, heavy silence that presses in on us.
I blink, trying to make sense of it, and for a moment, all I see is Valentino staring at me with disbelief and adrenaline written across his face.
"Rafa… you okay?" Angelo's voice breaks through the fog, sharp and urgent from the table he's ducked behind.
"Yeah," I yell back, trying to keep my voice steady. My throat feels like sandpaper.
"Val?"
