176. The Impossible Person
After finishing discussing some important matters, Theresa finally released Kiana and Bronya.
"Perfect, everyone's here. Let's take a walk around the school," Himeko said, gesturing for them to head outside.
"Where do you want to go first?" Himeko asked.
"Of course! The most important thing about coming to school is studying!" Yun Ling answered without hesitation.
Himeko thought he'd suggest the classroom or library, but...
"So, the first stop has to be the dorms!"
"What do dorms have to do with studying?" Kiana retorted.
"Think about it, if you don't get proper rest, where will you get the energy to study?" Yun Ling countered.
"Most importantly... Teacher Himeko said I'm the only male student in this school, which means there are no boys' dorms, meaning I can openly live in the girls' dorms!"
Yun Ling beamed with pride, seemingly already envisioning a wonderful life.
"You're overthinking it. Boys with Honkai resistance are indeed rare, but they do exist." Himeko's lips twitched slightly, pouring cold water on his enthusiasm.
"What?! There's a boys' dormitory?!" Yun Ling turned pale; his idyllic life had come to an abrupt end.
"No, but there are faculty apartments, single rooms. You've hit the jackpot." Himeko patted Yun Ling's shoulder.
"...If I lived next to Teacher Himeko, that would be acceptable! At least I wouldn't be all alone." Yun Ling let out a long sigh.
"You brat..." Himeko loosened her muscles; sometimes she really wanted to give Yun Ling a good beating.
"The Valkyrie dormitory is large, with four-person rooms; each person has their own private room, a living room, a kitchen, and two bathrooms—basically a small apartment."
"There's a curfew at night. You should be back around 11:30 PM. Teachers will come to check the rooms, so be careful."
Himeko explained as she led the group towards the dormitory.
"I get it. As long as I'm not caught coming back late, it's not a crime!" Yun Ling looked enlightened.
"Stop thinking nonsense! What's going on in your head?" Himeko tapped Yun Ling's head with a chop to the neck.
"Actually, my head is full of Teacher Himeko..." Yun Ling coughed lightly.
Himeko paused, a blush rising to her cheeks, making her look exceptionally pretty.
"Ahem, and of course, Mei, Kiana, Yuna... and Bronya. Although we just met, I think you have a lot of potential. You should work hard." Yun Ling added.
Bronya's face darkened, and she remained silent.
If her Heavy Bunny hadn't been confiscated, she would definitely have given Yun Ling a good beating.
"Die!" Kiana couldn't stand this jerk anymore and kicked him.
Yun Ling lay face down on the ground.
"Well done, Kiana." Mei, Himeko, and Bronya gave Kiana a thumbs up.
"Perfect timing, the dorms are just ahead. Boys, stay here and wait for us."
Himeko and the others ruthlessly abandoned Yun Ling there.
Yuna tried to do something, but Mei pulled her away, too.
"Kiana's kick was really hard, it almost ripped my kidney off..."
Yun Ling clutched his aching kidney and got up from the ground.
"Excuse me, are you alright?" A gentle, soothing voice suddenly rang out.
A slender, white hand appeared before Yun Ling.
"Thank you. May I ask your name, classmate?"
Yun Ling didn't even look at her face before placing his hand on hers.
That voice, that delicate hand...
Without even looking up, he knew she was an absolute beauty...
Yun Ling stood up, and the moment he looked at her, his expression froze.
Don't misunderstand, he didn't see some terrifying upright ape; he was simply stunned by the person before him who shouldn't exist at all.
Yun Ling stared at her blankly for a few seconds.
Perhaps Yun Ling's gaze was too intense, making her a little embarrassed, a faint blush appearing on her face.
"My name is Lin Chaoyu. Lin is the 'double tree,' Chao means 'morning glow,' and Yu means 'rain.'"
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her slender figure like that of an ethereal fairy, breathtakingly beautiful.
"Lin Chaoyu...what a beautiful name. Sorry, you're so beautiful, I accidentally stared in a daze." Yun Ling scratched his head, feigning embarrassment.
"So you're also from Shenzhou?" Lin Chaoyu chuckled, covering her mouth, not minding Yun Ling's lapse in judgment.
"Oh? How did you know?" Yun Ling countered.
"You possess 'sword energy,' and in the Far East, that kind of sword energy, unique to Shenzhou, is almost nonexistent," Lin Chaoyu explained.
"It seems Miss Lin's martial arts skills are quite impressive! I am Yun Ling, a new student. Please guide me." Yun Ling gave a brief self-introduction.
"Please guide me. My skills are nothing special, just rudimentary." Lin Chaoyu chuckled and shook her head.
"Miss Lin is too modest."
Yun Ling observed the refinement of the other's sword energy. While not as strong as his own, it was at least comparable to the Soul Essence Realm within the Taixu Sword Qi, definitely not weak.
"Miss Lin sounds a bit strange. Just call me Chaoyu." Lin Chaoyu replied.
"Alright, then you can call me Yun Ling too." Yun Ling nodded.
"Yun Ling! It's time to go!" Kiana called from afar.
"Sorry, my friend called me. Let's chat again another time." Yun Ling waved to Lin Chaoyu, then ran towards Kiana.
"Goodbye," Lin Chaoyu replied with a smile, watching Yun Ling's retreating figure with a thoughtful expression.
The one destined for her...
"You rascal, you went to flirt with other girls the moment I wasn't looking!" Himeko grabbed Yun Ling's neck, tightening her grip.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong, I'll definitely report to Teacher Himeko next time," Yun Ling feigned a struggle.
Actually, his face was pressed against Himeko's softness, enjoying the fragrance emanating from her body.
"Don't mess around, that girl's name is Lin Chaoyu, she's the only A-rank Valkyrie among the students of St. Freya Academy, and she'll most likely report to the Shenzhou branch after graduation."
"Although you two are from the same hometown, if you flirt with her and get beaten up, I won't help you," Himeko warned, tightening her grip.
She saw that Yun Ling was taking advantage of her, so this was punishment!
"Yes..." Yun Ling was now truly struggling to breathe, and only then did Himeko release him.
"Teacher Himeko, what does 'A-rank Valkyrie' mean?"
Mei, a top student, couldn't tolerate any basic knowledge she didn't possess.
"Valkyries are divided into five ranks: S, A, B, C, and D. S is the strongest, representing Schicksal's highest combat power."
"Lin Chaoyu and I are currently A-rank Valkyries. An A-rank Valkyrie is like an army, capable of single-handedly clearing large areas of Honkai battlefields."
"A B-rank Valkyrie can easily eliminate ordinary Honkai Beasts."
"A C-rank Valkyrie can easily deal with suicide soldiers."
"As for D-rank, they are generally those without Honkai energy resistance, responsible for logistical support."
