Chapter 324 - Chapter 324: Scientist vs. Dreamer

"What do you think?" Gremmy showed off his masterpiece to the group. "The architectural style of the Lichtreich. Modern Shinigami have rarely seen it, right?"

The riverside forest was gone, replaced by white buildings.

Sora's eyes narrowed. Gremmy had actually materialized the environment of the Wandenreich!

"We've lost air superiority..." Urahara landed on the ground, his face grim.

The concentration of spiritual particles within the Wandenreich was extremely high, and Shinigami could not create reishi footholds in such an environment.

When a Shinigami hovered in the air, they were not truly flying, but standing on footholds condensed from reishi.

"Ohohoho..." Mayuri said unhurriedly. "Only you have lost air superiority."

As he fell, a blue light suddenly appeared under his feet.

The blue light, like a skateboard, carried him and flew up.

"How can you do that?" Urahara was full of questions. "Could it be that Third Seat Mayuri has already defected to the Quincy?"

"I'm sorry to disappoint you..." Mayuri held up a finger. "I'm personally quite interested in the Quincy and have spent a little time understanding their Hirenkyaku."

"Then how can the Captain do it too?!" Urahara turned his head and saw his own captain also flying on a blue skateboard.

"The Captain is also a bit interested in Quincy abilities, so I shared my invention with him," Mayuri saw Urahara's frustration and smiled with exceptional glee. "I didn't expect this toy to be useful one day."

"Your invention is indeed very useful!"

Sora smiled slightly. In reality, he knew Hirenkyaku himself, but he did not intend to reveal his Quincy abilities yet.

Mayuri's invention was a perfect cover for him.

"What bad luck... I'm the only one on the ground!"

Urahara looked around as stone giants began to emerge from the ground.

With Sora and Mayuri in the air, the stone giants could only target him, and they all surrounded him.

"You have quite a few tricks," Gremmy said, his competitive spirit piqued when he saw that even changing the environment hadn't caused Mayuri any trouble.

"To be honest... your ability to adapt on the fly is a bit beyond my expectations. But..." Gremmy smiled slightly. "In the face of imagination, everything is futile."

The next moment, the air turned into lava and surged towards Sora and Mayuri in the sky.

"Child's play!"

Sora swung his sword, and a powerful wave of spiritual pressure erupted from the blade.

The incoming lava was instantly frozen into blocks of ice and fell to the ground.

"Time for a good nap."

Mayuri appeared behind Gremmy, and Ashisogi Jizō plunged towards his neck.

He had already modified his own Zanpakutō.

When he stabbed an enemy with it, he could inject various poisons and drugs into their body.

However, Ashisogi Jizō did not pierce Gremmy's neck as Mayuri had expected.

Clang—

A piercing sound of metal clashing rang out.

Then, a crisp crack came from Mayuri's hand.

Crack—

"What?!"

Mayuri was shocked to find that his own hand had been fractured by the impact.

This level of recoil should have been far from enough to break his bones!

Swoosh—

Mayuri activated the Hirenkyaku skateboard and quickly created distance.

"Protect yourself with spiritual pressure! He can modify our bodies!"

Mayuri shouted urgently.

He found that his bones had become incredibly fragile. He needed to use spiritual pressure to increase their strength to keep his body from falling apart.

"That's right. I imagined your bones to be as brittle as straw,"

Gremmy smiled. "It's terrifying, isn't it? That imagination can do such things."

Mayuri took out a syringe from his sleeve and stuck it into the artery in his neck.

A short while later, a cracking sound came from all the bones in his body.

"Heh..." Mayuri muttered. "It seems the bone-strengthening agent is having some effect..."

Just then, a golden light appeared at Gremmy's side.

Lightning and flames gathered on Sora's blade as he slashed fiercely at Gremmy's head.

Sora knew very well that the brain was the only real thing about Gremmy.

Even his body was a product of his imagination!

His true form was just a brain!

The next moment, the distance between Sora and Gremmy rapidly increased.

It wasn't that Gremmy had retreated to avoid the attack.

It was that the space between them was expanding!

"No need to be so surprised. I just imagined that the distance between us became greater,"

Gremmy smiled.

Sora frowned. With such an ability, if Gremmy was determined to avoid a fight, it would be very difficult to defeat him head-on.

However, Gremmy should be a Quincy with a rather "youthful mindset."

"Is your skill only good for dodging?"

Sora tried to provoke him with words.

"Arrogance..." Gremmy smiled, looking down. "Comes with a price."

The land beneath Sora suddenly jutted out into a giant rock.

From all directions, giant rocks pressed in on him.

Boom—

A crescent of golden flame tore through the rocks and shot towards Gremmy.

Thump, thump, thump—

Three huge metal gates rose up in front of Gremmy.

But none of them could withstand the golden flame, and they were pierced through one by one.

Just then, a Heilig Pfeil shot out from the side and collided with the attack.

"BOOM—!"

The shockwave from the explosion knocked down a large area of the buildings Gremmy had materialized.

"Gremmy, you're taking a bit too long,"

Instructor Quilge flew over. He had already drawn his saber; the Heilig Pfeil just now was his.

"It's rare to meet such interesting Shinigami. I wanted to play a little longer,"

Gremmy said calmly.

During this time, he and Quilge had destroyed several Shinigami stations.

But they had not met any decent resistance. They hadn't even had to act personally before the Shinigami died at the hands of the Quincy he had imagined.

These three Shinigami in front of them had repeatedly dealt with his creations.

His competitive spirit was stirred up.

"The Shinigami have already declared war. They could have reinforcements at any time. Let's finish them off quickly."

Quilge pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses and looked at the Shinigami in the captain's haori. "I'll leave the two with the strange abilities to you. I'm not very good at dealing with that type!"

"Fine."

Gremmy was正好 (just so happened to be) more interested in the one who kept pulling out interesting gadgets, so he agreed.

"You think I'm the easy one?"

Sora couldn't help but laugh. This Quincy instructor was being picky.

"My apologies. You are a respectable enemy. I have no intention of belittling you. I just prefer your type. After all..." Quilge raised his saber and grinned. "Swordsmanship is also within my teaching scope!"

A blue light shone on the saber, and a reishi blade emerged from its edge.

After leaving the blade, it shot towards Sora at high speed.

However, Sora did not dodge, but simply held out his left hand.

The next moment, the reishi blade was firmly caught in his hand.

"Is such a weak attack meant for a performance? Or perhaps... among the Quincy, you're in charge of performance training?"

After catching the reishi blade, Sora threw it back, and it shot towards Quilge at an even faster speed.

Quilge's face grew cold. He swung his saber and cut the reishi blade in half.

The two halves landed on either side and exploded.

The gust of wind from the explosion made Quilge's robes flap. He unfastened his cloak and let it be swept away by the wind.

"Ignorance is bliss, but it is the duty of the wise to enlighten the ignorant,"

Quilge raised his left hand and pulled off the glove. "You should feel honored. You are the first Shinigami to see the 'Quincy: Letzt Stil'."

Under the white glove, he wore a black one.

On the back of this black glove was a silver five-pointed star emblem.

Countless high-concentration spiritual particles poured out from the emblem.

The next moment, a stream of light shot out and struck the pillar of high-concentration reishi.

"DONG—!"

Sora's face darkened. This slash was like cutting into endless sand. The reishi blade was caught in the pillar and disappeared without a trace.

"Has Yhwach awakened?! Or was his 'Vollständig' granted before he went to sleep?"

Sora was shocked.

From the scene before him, Quilge was undoubtedly releasing the Quincy's Vollständig form!

Sora had come into contact with the Quincy in the human world, and without exception, none of them had this form.

This was an ability exclusive to the Wandenreich Quincy, and it was granted by Yhwach himself.

The 'Vollständig' form could greatly amplify their strength, an increase no less than what Bankai gave to a Shinigami.

Moreover, after entering this form, their Blut abilities and Reishi Manipulation would also be enhanced.

"Clang, clang, clang—"

A holy, long, and ethereal bell sound came from the pillar of light.

The pillar broke apart and disintegrated, revealing Quilge inside.

His appearance had changed dramatically.

A pair of blue reishi wings had appeared on his back, a reishi disc hovered above his head, and he now wore reishi gloves and boots on his hands and feet.

"Can you feel the pulse of power... Shinigami," Quilge said slowly. "This is the ultimate secret of the Quincy. All sinners who see this form shall face judgment."

The next moment, Quilge appeared behind Sora. A reishi light blade had formed in his right hand.

The blade slashed down, but Quilge's arm was bound by shadows.

"Clang—"

Sora's blade landed on Quilge's shoulder but only tore his clothes, not cutting his skin.

"That's not good enough. Please aim a little better before you cut," Quilge gestured to his own neck. "But it's useless even if you aim. There are no weak points in this form."

"Is this the limit of Blut Vene... even a Shikai-state slash can't break his skin."

Sora thought to himself.

He knew very well what abilities Quilge had. He had just wanted to test the strength of his Blut.

The defense was astonishing!

Quilge was the instructor of the Wandenreich Quincy. In the entire Sternritter, he was a rare all-around warrior, with all his skills at the top level.

In his 'Vollständig' form, the defensive power of his Blut Vene was amplified to its limit.

The next moment, Sora's Zanpakutō melted like a block of ink, turning into a black shadow that spread outwards.

The shadow spread extremely fast.

Quilge retreated warily, but found that even in his 'Vollständig' form, he could not escape its spread.

Five figures of different shapes rushed out of the shadow.

They were the shadows of Kana Azashiro, Kensei Muguruma, Shinji Hirako, Batsu'unsai Katori, and Yoruichi Shihōin!

Sora's shadows could replicate their abilities. Although not as powerful as the originals, the variety of abilities was enough to keep Quilge busy.

A black figure spun its Zanpakutō, and Quilge felt a faint dizziness in his head.

"An ability to invert positions?"

Quilge was clearly creating distance, but he found himself actively moving closer to the shadows.

His sense of position had been inverted.

Four streams of light from the shadow blades struck Quilge's abdomen, knocking him into the air.

He tried to adjust his position in the air but couldn't do it as he had expected.

Shinji Hirako's inversion ability was very flexible and could switch the direction of inversion at any time.

Quilge could not cope with the frequently changing sense of direction.

In the air, Sora held a black and a white blade. The two swords formed an impenetrable wall of wind, and countless crescent-shaped slashes rained down.

The slashes landed on Quilge, and a strong pushing force sent him towards the ground.

At the same time, Sora's attack had not stopped.

Under his sleeve, blue lines appeared. His Blut had switched to Blut Arterie.

A terrifying spiritual pressure gathered on his dual blades, and a cross-shaped crescent moon over ten meters wide descended.

"BOOM—!!!"

Several Wandenreich-style buildings were sent flying by the shockwave of the explosion, breaking apart into rubble in the air.

"No way! This is murder!!!"

Urahara, who had just dealt with the stone giant army, was unfortunately caught in the blast. He quickly lay on a flying boulder and was carried away with it.

In the distance, Gremmy and Mayuri also noticed the commotion.

"Instructor Quilge..." the smile was gone from Gremmy's face. "It seems your choice was the wrong one."

A hemispherical metal shell enveloped Gremmy, blocking the aftershock completely.

"The Captain really doesn't like to give any chances... you foolish Quincy. Challenging the Captain was the last mistake of your life," Mayuri also put up a reishi light screen to block the aftershock.

After the aftershock dissipated, Quilge lay in a huge cross-shaped crater.

Blood was constantly pouring from the corner of his mouth.

He was not yet dead. His body was covered in a dense network of blue lines, but they were severely damaged, and his spiritual armor was in tatters.

"The ultimate secret of the Quincy is nothing special."

Sora landed in front of Quilge, his expression blank.

"Cough, cough—" Quilge's eyes widened.

A white blade stabbed down, and Tateno Shinkotsu directly interrupted Quilge's attempt to absorb the reishi from the air.

Sora knew that Quilge with his 'Vollständig' was extremely troublesome, so he had held nothing back from the start.

He switched to Blut Arterie and unleashed his full power to take him out in one go.

"Your slash... how do you have the ability of Reishi Manipulation?"

Quilge forced out, whispering.

He had sensed that the reishi blade this Shinigami had cut out was not entirely from his own spiritual pressure.

"You don't need to know."

A black blade fell, scrambling Quilge's brain.
