Chapter 22 - Jin Clan Disciple

After perfecting the movements and repeating them more than thirty thousand times without rest, she panted heavily.

"Ugh… no matter how much I practice, I guess I'm still stuck in a brat's body. It's really difficult to do a few thousand more times without collapsing first."

Lin Wuyue clicked her tongue. In truth, she wasn't in any hurry. She knew that what she had achieved so far was extremely little—but little was still better than nothing.

She took a deep breath and thought, "If I start cultivating my internal energy as the book says, it will be hard to turn back… so I still have other options."

Her gaze fell on the ring on her finger. She could have used it long ago, but she still wanted to master the Bloody Demon Sword Technique first—it would yield a very interesting result.

"Tsk, if that's what I can do for now, then so be it."

She put the book away and stopped looking at the ring. Instead, her attention shifted to the opening that led to the other side of the cave, hidden behind a waterfall-like stream. A smile formed on her lips.

"It's time to go for a walk."

She packed everything into the small pouch that had accompanied her throughout this entire process. After thinking for a moment, she looked down at her clothes—her small garments had become visibly tight on her body.

Without hesitation, she changed into a set of long-sleeved robes. They were black with red-threaded edges. She tied her long, ink-black hair into a ponytail. With this appearance, she looked like a young master from some noble family.

Originally, she was supposed to exit through the small tunnel that led to the waterfall, but after reconsidering, she didn't want to soak her freshly changed clothes. Instead, she used a light-footwork technique to climb up the path she had originally fallen through.

She hadn't brought much with her—just a few clothes, silver needles, thread, some spirit stones, money, and her sword on her back. Leaving the mine wasn't difficult at all. She was going to return anyway; there was no way she would abandon all that treasure.

As she nearly reached the cave entrance, she suddenly stopped. It was daytime.

Perhaps because of the years she had spent inside the mine, merely approaching sunlight made her eyes burn.

She took her bag and cut the sleeve off one of her clothes, turning it into a makeshift band. She tied it over her eyes. She had good instincts, and she was no longer a mortal like when she first arrived.

"If I don't want to go blind, I'll need to wear this for at least two days," she murmured.

She could remove it at night.

With that in mind, she adjusted the cloth over her eyes. The girl's features were already strikingly beautiful, and the blindfold only accentuated her curved nose and rosy lips. Her pale, almost translucent skin made her look especially ethereal.

Without wasting any more time, she took small steps toward the exit. Even with the band covering her eyes, the sunlight made her dizzy—but she ignored the discomfort and leaped forward.

There was no need to retrace the long path. She simply jumped, using the trees as support to move forward calmly—and she did exactly that.

She landed on the tip of a tree and continued easily. She was moving so fast that the wind whistled past her ears. It had been a long time since she had traveled like this.

She could sense wild beasts on the ground—beasts of all sizes—but she paid them no attention. She didn't know where she was going, so she could only keep moving straight ahead.

After running at full speed, she stopped on a mountain to rest in the shade for a while.

Not long after, she was ready to continue—but suddenly, she heard the sound of clashing swords nearby. From the noise alone, it was clear that these weren't trained martial artists. Their movements were crude and rough.

They were bandits.

"But why are there bandits in this forest?"

As if she had remembered something, she frowned.

"I forgot… this is near the border. Back then, when I was with Feng Wu, Lin Yuan, and Chen Xi, we tried to steal a Resurrection Liquid. It was a borderland—no wonder there was so much hostility between both sides."

She murmured to herself and quickly moved toward the group of merchants.

When she arrived, the bandits were already gone, leaving people lying on the ground. Lin Wuyue slowly approached and checked their pulses. A hand just as small as hers suddenly grabbed her wrist.

"What are you doing?! These people are injured. If you move them too much, their wounds will worsen!"

It was an irritated child's voice.

"Precisely because they're severely injured, I'm checking their pulse. If the wounds are too serious, pressure points can be used to close them—or acupuncture points to seal the bleeding," Lin Wuyue replied calmly.

"You're wearing a blindfold—so you must have eye problems. You're telling me you can tell all that from their pulse? Just help me carry this one and the others!"

Lin Wuyue opened her mouth, then closed it again.

"Tsk, fine. I'm just passing through anyway," she thought to herself.

But she couldn't help asking, "Are you a doctor's disciple?"

"Yes. I'm a disciple of the White Dragon Divine Doctor of the Jin Clan," the boy replied casually as he dragged one of the men with all his strength.

Lin Wuyue also helped move the men the boy said could be treated, pushing the corpses aside.

"I don't know him," she said flatly.

In truth, she knew the Jin Clan well—a clan of doctors with powerful internal energy, which was the foundation of all their arrogance.
