"It's me, Hagrid."
Hearing this voice, Hagrid breathed a sigh of relief and turned back to address the group.
"Don't be afraid. This is Ronan. He's a centaur who's been living in the Forbidden Forest. I hope he can give us some new clues."
Soon, the centaur Ronan emerged, and this was the first time Erwin had seen a centaur.
He couldn't help but take a few extra glances.
Well, worthy of his name. Ronan was indeed close to nature.
Hagrid stepped forward, greeted him, and asked Ronan about the unicorn.
But the centaur kept his secrets, merely looking up at the night sky and repeating the same sentence mysteriously.
"Mars is bright tonight."
Not long after, another centaur also appeared before everyone, named Bane, who likewise refused to disclose any information.
After saying goodbye to the two centaurs, Hagrid muttered while irritated.
"Cryptic lot. No matter what you say, they have to bring the damn stars into it."
But Erwin knew what the centaurs meant.
Mars represents war and disaster.
'Looks like there'll be a fight with Quirrell tonight.'
Thinking of this, Erwin clenched his wand secretly.
Soon, everyone came to a fork in the path, with blood on both sides.
Harry spoke up.
"Let's split up."
Hagrid hesitated, then nodded in agreement, taking Neville, Ron, and Malfoy to choose one direction.
Before leaving, he kept reminding Harry to shoot red sparks with his wand if he found something, and they would come right away.
Erwin followed Harry the other way.
The blood on the path became more and more obvious.
"Wait a minute, Harry! I see it."
Erwin stopped Harry, who was continuing forward, and looked toward the thorny grass on the right.
Through the gaps, Erwin saw a unicorn figure faintly appearing.
Erwin sent a gust of wind with his wand, blew away the thorns, and strode across.
Under a sturdy tree, a unicorn with a faint halo around its body knelt there.
Silver blood continued to ooze from its flawless body.
The slender legs struggled to support this elegant creature, and there was a whimper in its throat, each one weaker than the last.
The whole scene revealed a heartbreaking beauty.
Erwin found that the unicorn wasn't completely dead and hurried forward.
Ordinary unicorns wouldn't let wizards approach; only pure maidens could approach or even ride them.
But now the unicorn had no strength to stop him.
Aiming at the unicorn, Erwin kept casting healing spells.
The wound on the surface of the unicorn began healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.
But its breath continued to weaken.
Erwin knew that this was the effect of dark magic, not something a simple healing spell could fix.
After thinking for a moment, Erwin reached into his pocket and took out a bottle.
This was something he had drawn by lottery before.
[Holy Elixir: Removes all injuries and negative states caused by dark forces.]
Erwin figured that dark magic fit the description.
Now, in this situation, he could only try anything available.
He gently opened the unicorn's mouth.
The unicorn seemed to know that the kind human boy before her was trying to save her, and cooperated very well.
Pouring all the potion into the unicorn's mouth, Erwin kept unleashing healing magic, hoping to ease her pain.
Fortunately, it didn't take long for the [Holy Elixir] to take effect, and a puff of black smoke escaped from the unicorn's body.
Erwin took two steps back, wary of the danger the smoke might pose.
Sure enough, when the black smoke drifted into the sky and touched the large tree, the entire tree withered quickly and turned into a dead husk.
The unicorn also stood up slowly, walked to Erwin's side, and gently rubbed against him with her face, expressing gratitude.
Harry, standing nearby, was stunned.
He hadn't expected that the dying unicorn could be rescued by Erwin.
They were both first-year students; why was there such a vast gap between them?
Erwin stroked the unicorn's smooth fur gently, feeling the soft texture.
"Okay, okay. You're all right now."
"Woo~"
The unicorn let out a long cry.
Although it was the language of unicorns, Erwin miraculously understood what she meant.
Erwin asked, "You mean you can find the dark wizard who hurt you now?"
The unicorn nodded and gestured for him to climb on.
"Can I?"
Thinking of what he'd read about unicorns, Erwin hesitated.
The unicorn nodded again firmly.
Erwin didn't hesitate further and rolled over, jumping up onto her back.
This unicorn shouldn't be an adult yet.
Otherwise, she should have been close to 1.6 to 1.8 meters tall when standing.
And the one before him was only about 1.2 meters, still a foal.
"Harry, stay here and don't move. Remember to signal Hagrid to join you."
After shouting at Harry, Erwin and the unicorn disappeared into the darkness, leaving only Harry standing there, dumbfounded, unable to respond for a long time.
