Chapter 37: Orochimaru, Have You Heard of the Tenseigan?
"Attack Konoha Village?" Nagato fell somewhat silent.
His parents were both killed by Konoha Village ninja. The person who backstabbed them and led to Akatsuki's destruction was also a Konoha ninja. His attitude toward Konoha Village was undoubtedly hostile. But his teacher Jiraiya happened to be a Konoha ninja.
His feelings toward Jiraiya were rather complex.
When he was young, Jiraiya saved his life, taught him ninjutsu, taught him to love peace—always a special existence in his heart, both teacher and father figure.
It could be said that Akatsuki's earliest philosophy couldn't escape Jiraiya's shadow.
However, though Jiraiya's philosophy was correct, it was far too naive, incompatible with this world, fundamentally impossible to realize.
That's why Akatsuki experienced its first destruction—Yahiko died because of it, and Nagato became crippled.
But even so, he never hated Jiraiya, much less wanted direct conflict with him.
"Say, Leader, if you don't want to kill Jiraiya, just leave him to me when the time comes." Yasushi very "considerately" said.
"If you really don't want to see him, that's even simpler. Just before the great battle, get a few beauties to seduce him and delay him a few days—he'll definitely be late."
"You truly know everything!" Nagato's expression stiffened. After looking deeply at him, he shook his head: "Since we're eliminating Konoha Village, we inevitably can't avoid the Sannin. I'll go settle things with him myself."
"Begin with him, end with him."
"That works too." Yasushi nodded noncommittally. "So our deal is made?"
Nagato solemnly nodded.
"Yes! After my body recovers, I'll proactively launch an attack on Konoha Village, eliminate Konoha Village, and seize the Nine-Tails."
"Hahaha..." Yasushi laughed happily. The tomoe in his Sharingan spun, transforming into the Mangekyo pattern. "Then what are we waiting for? Let me treat your injuries!"
He stood up, approached Nagato, placed his hands on Nagato's body, and converted all his ocular power into Yang Release energy, injecting it into Nagato's body.
"Say, your body really is thoroughly broken."
As soon as Yasushi began treatment, he felt Nagato's body was like a bottomless pit, absorbing his Yang Release power without leaving a drop.
When he'd been injured before, under Yang Release's effects, he healed instantly—effects comparable to the First's Wood Release. Only consuming a tiny bit of power could produce tremendous results.
But Nagato's physical deficit was truly severe. He continuously poured Yang Release in, yet it only made Nagato's condition slightly better.
With high-intensity activation of ocular power, his left eye again began flowing bloody tears. But he didn't care at all, still desperately squeezing out chakra, forcibly converting it to Yang Release.
"Alright, let's stop here for today!" Nagato lightly flicked, pushing Uchiha Yasushi back several steps. "Your eyes need time to rest. My body also can't heal in a day or two—no need to be too hasty."
"Konan, arrange living quarters for him. Daily treatment at this time—I imagine it won't take long before I recover."
Konan nodded, glancing gratefully at Yasushi once before gesturing for him to follow behind.
"Fine, then I'll patiently wait a few days."
UYasushi dismissively wiped away the tear stains beneath his eyes, squinting as he followed Konan out from the tower.
Konan found a clean room in the tower for Uchiha Yasushi to stay in.
After casually looking around twice, Yasushi asked:
"Say, which room does Lord Orochimaru live in?"
"He and I are partners from now on—we need to get properly close."
Konan looked deeply at him, asking nothing, only pointing out the direction before taking her leave.
Once Konan left, Yasushi went out, wandering leisurely toward the room where Orochimaru stayed. Upon arrival, he knocked "bang bang."
"Say, Lord Orochimaru, I'm your good partner! I've come to play with you!"
The door opened, revealing Orochimaru's sinister face.
"So it's Yasushi. I was just thinking about the intelligence you mentioned earlier!"
"Please come in!"
Orochimaru stepped aside from the doorway. Yasushi walked in, looking left and right. The place was clean and tidy, books and scrolls placed everywhere, but no experimental items—clearly his laboratory wasn't here.
He casually found a place to sit. Orochimaru sat opposite him, pouring tea. Without pleasantries, he cut straight to the point:
"The 'immortality technique' you mentioned earlier—what does it refer to?"
Yasushi leisurely sipped his tea, speaking unhurriedly:
"Before that, let me tell Lord Orochimaru a story first."
"A story about my Uchiha clan's ancestral past."
"So the story goes—back then there was this Rabbit Goddess... Later, she bore two sons, one called Otsutsuki Hagoromo, one called Otsutsuki Hamura..."
"Later still, Otsutsuki Hagoromo became the Sage of Six Paths, and bore two sons—one called Asura, one called Indra..."
"Later still, Senju Hashirama... Uchiha Madara..."
"So tracing the Uchiha clan upward, we can actually trace back to the Sage of Six Paths and the Rabbit Goddess."
He briefly explained some background story to Orochimaru. But aside from bloodline inheritance relationships, he didn't mention half a word of the important key points.
"Ah, I see!" Orochimaru listened with fascination, couldn't help sighing: "Indeed a Konoha great clan. These secrets are probably completely unknown to outsiders."
"However, saying all this—besides proving the Uchiha clan's noble bloodline—what relation does it have to immortality techniques?"
"Hehe..." Uchiha Yasushi smiled, speaking mysteriously: "Then what if I said the Rabbit Goddess from back then, along with her two sons, still remain somewhere in the shinobi world even now?"
"What?" Orochimaru's expression immediately changed upon hearing this. "That's impossible!"
"It's been how many years already, they..."
Halfway through, Orochimaru suddenly awakened, asking in a trembling voice:
"Could it be an immortality technique?"
"Correct!" Uchiha Yasushi nodded. "Precisely a genuine immortality technique!"
"The Rabbit Goddess's immortality technique is called 'Bloodline Encompassing'—an ability formed by fusing all seven nature transformations: Fire, Wind, Earth, Water, Lightning, Yin, and Yang together. It's an existence surpassing bloodline limits and bloodline selection."
"However, the Rabbit Goddess is from the Otsutsuki clan, naturally born with 'Bloodline Encompassing.' If you want to obtain it, you'd need to find a way to fuse it yourself through acquired means."
"Otsutsuki Hagoromo's immortality technique is slightly inferior, simply called 'Sage of Six Paths.' You only need to synthesize the Rinnegan, then become the Ten-Tails jinchuriki to achieve it."
"Otsutsuki Hamura's immortality technique is the weakest but simplest to achieve—called 'Tenseigan.' You only need to collect massive quantities of Byakugan and fuse them together to naturally obtain it."
Orochimaru's pale face immediately displayed an abnormal flush. His eyes flashed wildly with light. His snake-like long tongue licked around his lips.
After a long while, he finally calmed down. Looking at Yasushi leisurely drinking tea there, he said in a deep voice:
"Among the three methods, you only revealed the Tenseigan's synthesis method. In other words, you actually want me to massively plunder Byakugan from Konoha Village."
"Right?"
