In the darkness of the cave systems, Thane tracked Kara's movements with sharp eyes. Everywhere she moved he followed tightly from a distance.
Her excuse for leaving them was to 'get some tools' to combat the infected. Apparently there was a way to do so properly.
But Thane had a feeling there were lies, she had another purpose and he was going to find out what that was.
As he followed her though he started noticing a pattern that was to say the very least disturbing.
The infected creatures….they were nowhere to be found. From his information, the pool of blood that was the source of the sentient blood was below the mountain as such should be protected heavily.
But no matter how low they went, not a single infected beast appeared .
That is until
"Thane, you sneaky bastard why are you following this young lady around like a fucking pervert?"
A voice resounded behind him as a silhouette with horns casted a shadow into the tunnel he was currently in.
"Hm?" Thane quickly braced himself as he heard that, pulling out a bone sword from his side.
"Dandan" he muttered looking at both ends of the tunnel. Both Kara and Dandan were blocking the paths of escape.
It was a trap.
"Heheh, in the flesh." The old man with horns responded with a smile. Himself and Thane went way back, one of the first people to join Victoria's camp. In fact he knew Victoria way before Thane did but wasn't officially on her side.
"That's a lie, you're not Dandan," Thane sneered.
Well of course he wasn't Dandan, the real Dandan had died years ago. Even himself wasn't the real Thane. They were a bunch of fakes created to keep Victoria trapped in this prison world.
"Ehnn, stupid semantics you know what I mean" Dandan sneered.
"Kakaran Cuvlan" The old man said calmly words old and powerful that sent a signal into Thane's brain.
The moment he heard those words, a wave of relief washed through him as he smiled.
They were still tied to the legions brainwashing and programming. If not those words wouldn't have come out that way.
"Kertan Mianra" Thane responded with a nod.
It seemed like his apprehensions were for nothing, they were still on his side.
"Come we have a lot to speak about" Kara seemingly bored about the whole thing said as she turned around to walk deeper into the cave.
They had a lot of planning to do.

"At some point, my lovely brother had snuck into our ranks and started killing off my strongest fighters. I had to face him head on….an unfortunate clash that saw me defeated" Victoria sat next to Enzo telling him her story.
This had become a commonplace thing for them to do from time to time. She told him her story and he listened. It was a favorite pastime of his especially now as they came closer and closer to a final close.
Enzo treasured them the more.
"I was bound and taken away, I do admit he was stronger but he didn't go scout free" Victoria broke into a sly smile, if she achieved nothing in this world, the pain she caused Raz, would keep her in a state of bliss for the rest of her days.
'Hehe, she's kind of crazy'
Enzo thought in his mind, Victoria was a cold and reserved type. But sometimes the words that would come out of her mouth indicated a sort of madness that would frighten the average man.
"Hm? They are back" Victoria, soon drawn away from her dream-like state, said as she looked into the crack in the wall.
The silhouette of Thane and Kara could be seen arriving as they made their way into the room.
"Here!!" Thane dropped a bag onto the ground causing several resounding pangs to echo as a couple of daggers and knives poured out onto the floor.
And all of them were made from bones.
Truth be told, the fight between the Skeleton king and the sentient blood was a bit one sided. The sentient blood was overwhelmingly strong and surpassed the skeleton king.
But it fell short in one particular thing and that was its inability to consume whatever the king threw at it. The sentient blood could consume living matter, flesh and the dead, but couldn't take bones.
The skeleton king was its natural enemy and it knew that and so did Kara and the rest.
"Fight with whatever you feel comfortable with, but if you truly want to end the lives of these monsters….youll need these bones" Kara said as she slowly broke into an evil smile.
Clearly she had a bone to pick with these infected that had taken her comrades away.
