In the nights, Victoria's aura was enough to scare off 80% of the creatures of galafray's sands. She only needed to actively radiate it as they moved forward.
According to her, Galafray was divided along several lines, one of them being the great desert. Her prison was situated right in the middle of it. the distance needed to be cleared was vast but after moving through it using the shadow step skill they were able to cover a great distance.
The next was the Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon was westwards of the desert, and it contained several mountains in its epicenter. Victoria's assumption was that within one of those mountains there should be a teleportation circle that would allow them get off this rock.
"That's it huh" after a few days of walking through the great desert
Enzo was finally able to peer down at the large compressed landscape with towering mountains and rocky formations far into the horizon.
As a night creature he didn't seem to need food for sustenance, but even at that this had been extremely gruelling
"Yes" Victoria nodded slowly as she watched a fire that had been coincidentally set by Enzo on their stop. Such a thing confused her a lot.
Fire was basically the worst enemy for most night creatures. She could withstand it since she wasn't necessarily a night creature but Enzo who was, had purposely set fire? He was very strange.
"What are the chances we'll see the teleportation circle there?" Enzo smiled sheepishly. The past few days had been hard, jumping from one place to another avoiding swarms of sand Trihorns and a myriad of frightening sand monsters was mentally and physically draining.
If there was a teleportation circle in the Grand Canyon then he was home free and if there wasn't? Well he could only hope this wasn't the case, he didn't want to spend one more day on this godforsakened planet.
"30/70" Victoria replied while still staring at the hypnotic flame in front of her.
Higher ground was necessary for most teleportation circles , if there was ever one on Galafray then it was possibly in the Grand Canyon.
"Those are pretty bad chances" Enzo smirked bitterly shaking his head, the planet was made to keep Victoria imprisoned. So one of the main things they had to worry about was the possibility of there not being a teleportation circle around at all.
As Enzo sighed bitterly, he soon noticed a pair of eyes staring at him with utmost focus and caution.
"What?" He asked, matching Victoria's gaze, she was looking at him as if she had just seen a ghost.
"Step away slowly…" Victoria muttered under her breath without voicing actual words.
Seeing this, enzo slowly panned his head backwards as his heart pumped slowly and looked through the corner of his eyes.
The body bag in which Victoria placed the dead follower was now sitting upright, looking in his direction.
"What the hell?" Enzo was shook, the dead follower was alive?
.
.
.
"My lady, I'm happy for your health" a few minutes later the shribbled up corpse of the dead follower bowed to Victoria in the cold sand a feeling of reverence in his voice.
His awakening was out of the blue, he had been captured during the great battle and placed in an underground prison where he was tortured day and night , but just like Victoria try as they did….they couldn't kill him.
Eventually they all died off, leaving him. Only he wasn't like Victoria and as time went so did his life….
Him being awake today was nothing short of a miracle.
"I'm glad to see you alive thane" for the first time in a long time Victoria showed a tinge of emotion as she approached thane and rose him off his knees.
Thane was her very first follower, he was extremely precious to her.
However that didn't remove her caution in his sudden resurrection. He was dead a few moments ago and she had just taken him out of the void coffin to bury him.
Now he was alive? It sounded too out of place.
"My lady I'm also glad to see you. But I must confess there's something wrong" Thane stood up to his feet and announced.
"There's a voice in my head telling me to kill you. I don't know what it is, maybe a mechanism from the legion but it seems very easy to ignore." Thane explained, the voice was the first thing he heard when he woke up and it was very overwhelming at first.
However after setting eyes on Victoria it became more or less like a pestering noise than a command.
"If my lady pleases, you may kill me right now to avoid future troubles" he said bowing his head down.
Even though he felt that he could fully control it, he couldn't leave it to chances, Victoria was just too important.
"No need, it's been years, I had something similar done to me not so long ago" Victoria shook her head. She wasn't going to kill thane after just getting him back.
At least not until he gave her a reason to.
"Thank you, my lady." Thane broke into a gleeful smile and excitement overtook him. Staying on the side of Victoria was all he ever wanted, and she seemed to like his presence also.
However, there was one person who didn't quite like the presence of Thane. And surprisingly it was Enzo.
He had a very bad feeling about this new arrival.
