Chapter 145 - Taiji Yin–Yang

Not long after swallowing the two kinds of immortal herbs, Yun Chuan's body suddenly trembled. Immediately afterward, a layer of icy blue rose directly from beneath his feet. In the blink of an eye, his entire body had completely turned blue. The next moment, a layer of red rose up again, and at this time he looked like a freshly boiled shrimp. Blue and red alternated, looking extremely strange!

Yun Chuan took a deep breath. The light of the Five Elements circulated within his body, temporarily suppressing the impact of the two extreme auras. He turned his head and instructed Dugu Bo:

"Senior, next I will enter the Ice and Fire Yin–Yang Eyes and use the Yin–Yang springs to forge a golden body. Do as you please."

After saying this, without waiting for Dugu Bo's reply, he removed the storage soul tool from his body and placed it aside. Then, just like that, still wearing his clothes, he jumped toward the junction where the Extreme Cold Yin Spring and the Blazing Hot Yang Spring met.

With a splash, Yun Chuan's entire body had already submerged into the spring water, sinking into it in an instant.

The surface of the water returned to calm again. Milky white and crimson remained as clearly separated as ever. Water vapor still filled the air, and everything returned to silence.

Dugu Bo looked at Yun Chuan, who had jumped in and disappeared without a trace. The muscles on his face twitched. If it were not for Yun Chuan's confident expression, he would definitely think that he had gone mad. After all, the water in the Ice and Fire Yin–Yang Eyes was an extremely terrifying substance. In his view, it could almost dissolve everything! Even he himself would lose his life if he touched even a bit of it.

"Sure enough… knowing the specific use is really good," Dugu Bo could not help but sigh with emotion. If Yun Chuan had not demonstrated it personally, he would never have imagined that simply by consuming those two medicinal herbs, one could freely enter and exit this pool of miraculous ice-and-fire springs, and even obtain such enormous benefits.

At this moment, inside the Ice and Fire Yin–Yang Eyes.

All the clothes on Yun Chuan's body had already been eroded away by the surrounding spring water, and he was now completely naked. Fortunately, he had put his storage soul tool on top beforehand and had not brought it down with him, otherwise the losses would have been huge.

If it were not for the fact that the two herbs he had consumed were themselves born from the auras of the Ice and Fire Yin–Yang Eyes and the two extreme springs, then at this moment, not to mention clothes, he probably would not even have any remains left.

At this moment.

Yun Chuan entered a very wondrous state.

The two immortal herbs he had eaten transformed into two kinds of energy—icy cold and scorching heat—circulating again and again, combing through his body… The medicinal power contained in immortal-grade herbs was unimaginably terrifying. Ice and fire opposed each other yet also generated each other, just like Yin and Yang. Creation and transformation were endless, and the mysteries were inexhaustible…

The spring water around him contained extremely terrifying energy!

Under normal circumstances, it could not be absorbed. But now, after consuming the two immortal herbs, Yun Chuan possessed extremely strong resistance to ice and fire. As a result, the energy contained in the spring water was continuously absorbed by him,融入 his body, and transformed his flesh…

The rune at his brow slowly emitted mysterious fluctuations, helping Yun Chuan regulate the balance of Yin–Yang and the Five Elements within his body… Using the uniquely favorable environment of the Ice and Fire Yin–Yang Eyes, it thoroughly developed his physical body and excavated his latent potential!

A root-bone attribute of sixty points—how terrifying was that!

This was a kind of talent that, even across the heavens and myriad worlds, could be considered outstanding. Unfortunately, a dragon trapped in shallow waters, born in the low-level world of Douluo, had limited his development and prevented him from fully excavating the potential contained in his root-bone. The so-called innate level fifty was not the limit of his root-bone, but the limit of the surrounding environment.

It was the world that had dragged down his growth.

And now, with the help of the surrounding environment and the rune at his brow, the terrifying potential hidden within his root-bone was finally being slowly developed… just a tiny bit… an almost negligible tiny bit!

No one knew how much time had passed.

When Yun Chuan awoke from that wondrous state, he felt that his entire being was different. Especially at his dantian, when he looked inward at himself, he could see that within the originally empty dantian, there was now an extra mass of energy in the form of Taiji.

This Taiji energy was black and white in color, clearly representing Yin and Yang. It was not like the ice-and-fire Taiji of the Ice and Fire Yin–Yang Eyes, but a more fundamental Yin–Yang Taiji.

"Yin–Yang… Could it be that my Five Elements were lacking Yin and Yang, so the rune used the surrounding environment to help me complete the deficiency?" Yun Chuan observed the black-and-white Yin–Yang Taiji in his dantian and guessed in his heart. After all, when speaking of the Five Elements, Yin and Yang were naturally indispensable.

People often say Yin–Yang and Five Elements, Yin–Yang and Five Elements, placing Yin–Yang before the Five Elements. Obviously, the two were inseparable, and perhaps Yin–Yang was even more important than the Five Elements.

Yun Chuan did not understand the principles involved. After all, he had never studied such things. Right now, he was simply feeling his way forward step by step—how could he know the underlying logic? Anyway, as long as he understood that it was beneficial to him, that was enough.

Moreover, this time the ice-and-fire tempering of his golden body seemed to bring him more than just these benefits. He felt that his martial soul seemed to have undergone some kind of change as well. It was very subtle. After leaving here, he would summon his martial soul to see what changes had occurred.

Having made up his mind, Yun Chuan was just about to swim upward. But suddenly he stopped, turned his gaze downward, and looked into the bottomless darkness below. His eyes flickered.

"I remember the original work mentioning that the corpses of the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings are at the bottom of this deep pool, right? Then why don't I dive into the depths of the pool and see if there are any soul bones or other treasures?"

Yun Chuan thought that, according to this world's characteristic that soul beasts might drop soul bones after death, the two Dragon Kings at the bottom of the pool might have left soul bones behind, waiting for him to pick them up.

If they existed, what level of soul bones would they be?

Divine-level soul bones?

What benefits would he gain after absorbing them?

Thinking of this, Yun Chuan could no longer restrain himself.

Wealth is sought in danger.

Go!

He turned his body around and swam headfirst toward the depths of the pool!

And the deeper he swam, the wider the surrounding passage became.

But the temperature and coldness of the water also became increasingly intense.

Fortunately, after consuming the two ice-and-fire immortal herbs, he now possessed resistance to ice and fire. Therefore, no matter how terrifying the temperature of these ice-and-fire spring waters was, it posed no threat to him.

However, the deeper he swam, the greater the resistance to movement became.

The dark passage was like a road leading to the depths of the Nine Netherworlds!

As he swam deeper and deeper, the surrounding passage became wider and wider. Yun Chuan discovered that this passage was shaped like a sharp cone—narrowest at the ground level, and becoming wider the deeper it went.

Looking at the strange shape of this passage, he seemed to be able to imagine that back then, the skeletons of the two Dragon Kings had fallen like meteors from the sky and smashed into the ground. The terrifying impact force directly penetrated the earth's core, reaching tens of thousands of meters deep. Then, deep underground, the two conflicting forces of ice and fire erupted violently!

The principle was like a volcanic eruption: below was a huge space, while above was only a small vent.

After countless tens of thousands of years passed, the small vent above gradually solidified and took shape. The surrounding soil environment formed a mountain depression, and the eruptive forces were gradually harmonized under the natural power of the world… Eventually forming a place where ice and fire mutually generated and restrained each other—the Ice and Fire Yin–Yang Eyes!

"There must be treasures down there!"

Yun Chuan was invigorated. Using both hands and feet, he increased his swimming speed and continued diving downward… The deeper he went, the purer the energy contained in the water became! Obviously, he was approaching the core area. The Ice and Fire Yin–Yang Eyes on the surface were merely energy that had been heavily diluted layer by layer.
