Chapter 21 - The Body is the Foundation!

Ever since helping Yun Chuan hunt for a Soul Ring that day, Bibi Dong and the others returned to the Martial Soul Hall and conducted research. They concluded that the reason he couldn't wield the hammer Martial Soul was due to his weak physical condition. After all, he was only six years old, and his body hadn't fully developed yet.

Therefore, his primary task wasn't to increase his Soul Power, or to simply add five Soul Rings, but to exercise and strengthen his body!

Yun Chuan listened to Bibi Dong's arrangements and agreed wholeheartedly. He wasn't in a hurry to attach more Soul Rings, because he could feel that although absorbing Soul Rings also strengthened his physical condition, they simultaneously put pressure on his body. At his current age, bearing two ten-thousand-year Soul Rings was already his limit.

If he dared to attach another Soul Ring, he would likely be crushed by the power within the Soul Rings, causing his meridians to burst and leading to his death!

The principle behind this was like a person who could carry fifty kilograms. However, if that person were to carry another fifty kilograms on top of that… they would definitely be crushed. If his physical condition wasn't up to par, he shouldn't force it.

As for not being able to level up without attaching Soul Rings and being stuck at level fifty, that was of no concern. Yun Chuan didn't think he needed to rush his Soul Power cultivation. What did innate level fifty Soul Power mean? It meant that increasing his Soul Power was as easy as eating and drinking water. Furthermore, having level fifty Soul Power at the age of six already put him ahead of countless others.

This level of talent couldn't be bound by the common sense of ordinary Soul Masters. Other Soul Masters needed to work hard and cultivate their Soul Power while they were young. But he didn't need to, because for him, Soul Power could increase rapidly with just a little bit of cultivation.

This was talent, a top-tier talent that others could only envy!

So at this stage, Yun Chuan couldn't rush to attach more Soul Rings. He had to make his physical condition capable of bearing the power of his Martial Soul before he could continue attaching Soul Rings.

The two ten-thousand-year Soul Rings he had absorbed before had, to some extent, strengthened his physical attributes. However, the strength gained wasn't enough to support him absorbing a third ten-thousand-year Soul Ring.

This situation left Yun Chuan feeling helpless. He could absorb five ten-thousand-year Soul Rings in a row due to his innate fiftieth-rank Soul Power. But because he was too young and his physical attributes didn't meet the requirements to handle five ten-thousand-year Soul Rings, he had to put it on hold for the time being. He truly didn't know how to complain.

Next.

Under the Female Pope's arrangements, Yun Chuan officially began to exercise.

Early morning.

The sun had just peeked over the horizon.

Yun Chuan was already woken up by the Female Pope. Then, with sleepy, hazy eyes, he wobbled into the washroom, brushed his teeth, and washed his face. After taking care of his personal hygiene, he was completely awake. He then took off his pajamas, changed into a small, tight-fitting exercise outfit, and was then led by the Female Pope, holding his small hand, to eat breakfast…

After enjoying a nutritious breakfast…

He rested for a while.

Then, Bibi Dong held Yun Chuan in her arms and soared into the sky. They flew outside Martial Soul City, where a gentle breeze, mixed with the scent of nature, caressed them. The beautiful scenery below was truly refreshing!

Finally, the Female Pope landed on a flat Dirt Road.

This road was long, stretching almost to the horizon.

Bibi Dong set the small Yun Chuan down, then took something out of her Soul Tool. It looked like a vest, made of some kind of iron, and was clearly quite heavy.

"Mommy, what's this?" Yun Chuan felt his hands sink when he took the Iron Vest. He almost fell over, but he managed to steady himself just in time. He weighed the vest in his hands, roughly estimating it weighed at least a few hundred pounds. He couldn't figure out what it was made of; it was completely unscientific!

"Chuan'er, your task from now on is to run this road every day while wearing this vest," Bibi Dong said, pointing at the endless road ahead. Then, she said softly, "Come on, Mommy believes you can do it."

Because the Douluo Continent didn't have Body Refining Techniques, Soul Masters usually improved their physical fitness through the most common forms of exercise. For example, running, or weight training, and other fitness methods.

These methods, while simple, are indeed practical.

"Mom, I'm only six, and I'm carrying something so heavy every day. I won't grow taller!" Hearing this, Yun Chuan's delicate little face immediately showed an expression uglier than crying. He pitifully said, "Can you change to something lighter for me? Start with a few... not tens of pounds, but just a few pounds? Starting with hundreds of pounds at once, I can't handle it."

At this moment, Yun Chuan was already somewhat questioning life. Because this exercise method was completely different from what he had imagined.

The prestigious Martial Soul Hall, a force with such a long history of inheritance. Didn't they have anything like Body Refining Techniques?

One could only say that the Douluo Continent truly deserved to be the foundation of fantasy. Anyway, Yun Chuan had read so many fantasy novels, and he had never seen a fantasy male protagonist enhance his physical fitness by running. It was too lame.

"Chuan'er, don't be afraid. You won't be short." The Female Pope comforted him gently. Looking at Yun Chuan, who was pitifully trying to be cute and pitiful, she also felt some heartache. She even wanted to simply not have him use weights in the beginning. But soon, reason made her dismiss this idea. After all, she understood the principle of spoiling a child being like killing them, and in fact, these few hundred pounds of weight, for Yun Chuan, who had the support of Soul Power at level 50 and could absorb two ten-thousand-year Soul Rings, could only be said to be just right. It didn't exceed his endurance limit.

At most, it would be very tiring and painful at first.

But as long as he persevered, the improvement in his physical fitness would be very significant.

As for Yun Chuan's worry about not growing taller due to excessive weight training, it wasn't really a problem at all. Based on the Martial Soul Hall's records over the years, there had never been a case of a Soul Master failing to grow taller because of weight training. With Soul Power in his body, his height would only increase, never stagnate!

So, in the end, Yun Chuan's attempts to appear pitiful didn't convince the Female Pope to change her mind. He could only reluctantly put on the iron vest, which weighed at least a few hundred pounds.

Then, under the Female Pope's gaze, he slowly started to run forward…

At first, it was fine. Although he was wearing the iron vest weighing several hundred pounds, he possessed fifty levels of Soul Power and had two ten-thousand-year Soul Rings attached, which provided a massive boost to his body. With his current physical condition, running with a few hundred pounds on his back was quite easy, even leading him to think that it wasn't as difficult as he had imagined.

But after a while.

After Yun Chuan had run a short distance, he gradually felt the iron vest on his body getting heavier and heavier, and his legs became very heavy as well, slowing his running speed.

"Hah! Huff…"

His breathing gradually became heavy and rapid, and stars began to appear before his eyes. He realized that his body was beginning to feel tired.

After all, running while carrying several hundred pounds of weight exhausts a tremendous amount of stamina, and the stress on the body is absolutely beyond the average person's imagination.

But the road ahead still stretched out of sight.

He didn't know how much further he had to run to finish.

Should he stop and rest for a bit? After all, Mom didn't say he couldn't take a break, only that he had to finish running.

Yun Chuan started to feel a bit lazy.
