Kommo-o!
That figure, entirely covered in scales, walking with such an imposing presence that the mere sound of its footsteps was enough to make other Pokémon flee, was none other than a Kommo-o.
And if it weren't for the fact that the one in front of it was Cain, most people in the Pokémon world wouldn't even recognize it at a glance.
Because Kommo-o is a pseudo-legendary Pokémon originating from the Alola region.
A Dragon and Fighting type Pokémon.
That's right, a pseudo-legendary, just like Cain's Tyranitar, Steven's Metagross, or Drake's Salamence. They're all Pokémon of the same tier.
Kommo-o advanced step by step toward Cain and his team, with its tail swaying from side to side in a relaxed manner.
No wonder the Vespiquen had flown off in all directions; before a Kommo-o like this, they clearly didn't stand a chance.
Although something caught Cain's attention: upon seeing that Kommo-o, he noticed its mental state didn't seem quite right.
It wasn't showing any clear signs of abnormality... rather...
Had it not fully woken up yet?
Or was it completely unmotivated for some reason? Its entire body exuded absolute laziness.
Even so, even in that state, its strength was felt as something overwhelming.
With slow movements, it stopped a short distance from Cain and his group.
Its tail continued swaying incessantly.
Kommo-o usually shakes its tail to warn other creatures of its presence in the area, or to give a warning to those who approach with hostile intentions.
Clack, clack, clack...!
The large scales on its tail clashed and rubbed against each other as it moved.
But upon realizing it was a Kommo-o that had appeared, Cain didn't immediately order Slowking to use Teleport to escape.
Because Kommo-o are very proud Pokémon. They don't like to stoop to fighting weaker Pokémon; they don't like taking advantage of the small ones.
Of course, if a weak Pokémon provokes them, they won't hold back at all either.
"What's a Kommo-o doing here?" thought Cain, watching the Pokémon whose scales shimmered faintly.
This type of Pokémon, Kommo-o, evolves from Jangmo-o, who first becomes Hakamo-o, and then, after a period of training and maturation, finally evolves into its current form.
In the wild, they follow a rather peculiar life pattern.
Newborn Jangmo-o are protected by their clan, who care for them until they grow.
Once they evolve into Hakamo-o, they stop being solely Dragon type and also gain the Fighting type.
And from that moment on, they begin their first great training journey — the longest of their lives.
They leave their clan and territory to train and only return once they've reached their final evolution as Kommo-o. Upon their return, they stay near the new Jangmo-o, keeping a respectful distance but protecting them silently.
That is the true way of life for wild Kommo-o.
But now, this Kommo-o didn't seem to be fulfilling that protective role.
Could it be... a solitary Kommo-o?
That was the only thing Cain could assume.
The system scanned the Kommo-o and quickly displayed its information:

"..."
Cain silently examined Kommo-o's data, not knowing what to say.
It was powerful!
Too powerful!
He had never seen a wild Pokémon with more Learned Moves than Basic Moves.
One could only say its reputation as a Pokémon that accumulates power through combat was entirely deserved.
Wasn't it dangerous for Hakamo-o to wander around alone training?
Yes. But that's how their species develops. They roam the world looking for strong opponents, learning the best moves. Their goal is to become the most powerful.
And any Kommo-o that manages to evolve naturally in the wild automatically represents a level of strength that most trainers can't even imagine.
This is a Pokémon that has reached its current state purely through battle.
Its very existence is geared toward combat.
Just look at its body, covered in scales as hard as armor.
Its Light Purple rarity placed it among the most exceptional of all wild ones.
And its level 84... say no more.
It even surpassed Drake's strongest Salamence. Without a doubt, this was a Champion-level Pokémon!
Against a Kommo-o like this, not even if Cain used all of his Pokémon at once would he stand a chance.
Fortunately, this Kommo-o stopped once it reached a certain distance from them.
Suddenly, it raised a hand, causing both Slowking and Mismagius to assume defensive stances.
But it only brought its hand to its mouth...
And let out a huge yawn.
Tears even welled up in its eyes, as if it hadn't slept well.
A few black lines formed on Cain's forehead.
Was this Kommo-o... really just sleep-deprived?
Is its life that relaxed?
Well, in this space, with its level, it's definitely one of the strongest beings. Living a relaxed life makes sense.
With no predators and being a pseudo-legendary, its place at the top is unquestioned.
While yawning, Kommo-o looked at Slowking and Mismagius, who were still in a defensive posture, with some amusement.
That mocking glint in its eyes didn't go unnoticed by Cain.
Is it bored?
The system also estimated its age: over one hundred years.
But for a Dragon-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon, a hundred years is just the beginning of its true glory stage.
Maybe it hadn't reached its peak as quickly as a Kommo-o raised by a trainer, but its power forged slowly in the wild had nothing to envy.
After yawning, Kommo-o didn't lower its hand. Instead, it raised it in front of Bagon and made a gesture with its finger, calling him.
Bagon froze.
Even before Kommo-o approached, Bagon had already felt something inside him. And now it seemed that, indeed, that powerful dragon... had come for him.
Bagon turned to look at Cain, waiting to see what decision he would make.
