Tang Yue narrowed her eyes at Mo Fan, as if she could see through his thoughts.
"What are you staring at!?" she snapped.
Mo Fan blinked, confused. Why was Teacher Tang so angry? Was Brother Jie really that quick!?
Tang Yue asked coldly, "The Fire Element Spirit Seed—did you absorb it?"
"Ah…"
Mo Fan scratched his head and nodded. The Fire Element Spirit Seed was already his. It wasn't like he could give it back.
Tang Yue sighed. "Forget it." She turned and walked toward Chao He's corpse, calling the Enforcement Union to handle the cleanup.
"You two wait here. Once I finish reporting, I'll take you back," Tang Yue said.
Mo Fan and Song Jie both nodded.
Soon, the two of them found a place to sit down.
Mo Fan grinned. "Brother Jie, looks like you're not as impressive as I thought!"
"Huh?" Song Jie blinked, not following.
Mo Fan leaned closer and whispered, "Brother Jie, just now, you and Teacher Tang Yue… behind the tree…" He trailed off, his face full of "I get it" mischief.
Song Jie froze for a second, then smirked. "Yeah, it's exactly what you think."
"Brother Jie, you're amazing!" Mo Fan gave him a thumbs up.
Song Jie, too tired to bother, lay down and stared at the sky.
Mo Fan followed suit. "Brother Jie, I owe you one. If you ever need me, just say the word. I'll go through fire and water for you!"
"Then keep it a secret for me," Song Jie said lazily, eyes half-closed.
Some time later, Mo Fan nudged him awake.
When Song Jie opened his eyes, Tang Yue's tall, graceful figure was standing right in front of him.
"Get up," she said calmly. "We're heading back."
By the time they returned to Xishui Town, the sky had already darkened.
Tang Yue arranged a room for each of them and went back to her own.
After grabbing dinner nearby, Song Jie didn't return to his room. Instead, he walked straight to Tang Yue's door and knocked.
Although Little Green (Xiaolu) and the Wind-Riding Skyhawk hadn't reached their advancement standards yet, preparations couldn't wait. He needed Tang Yue's help to gather the materials.
Tang Yue opened the door, and when she saw it was Song Jie, she quietly let him in.
Song Jie's gaze flicked down for a second—her thin pajamas outlined her figure perfectly. Any man would struggle to stay calm.
"What do you need?" Tang Yue asked, crossing her legs as she sat on the bed.
"Teacher Tang Yue, about the summoning beast advancement materials…" Song Jie began.
Her tone suddenly sharpened. "You still dare to come asking me for materials!?"
Song Jie was baffled. "Huh?"
Tang Yue stood up and stepped closer, forcing him back against the wall. "Be honest—were you doing that on purpose today!?"
"Teacher Tang Yue," Song Jie reminded her nervously, "we agreed not to hold grudges! Besides, I was the one being pushed down! That kiss was my first kiss too!"
Tang Yue froze. This guy… taking advantage of her and then playing innocent!?
But when she remembered how he'd saved her, her anger faded a little.
"Teacher Tang Yue, I didn't even move," Song Jie said hurriedly. "You're the one who leaned in!"
Tang Yue frowned, then glanced down—and realized they were pressed closely together!
Her face flushed instantly. She turned away, voice trembling slightly. "Get out. As for your auxiliary materials, send me the list. I'll have someone gather them."
"Thank you, Teacher Tang Yue!" Song Jie said quickly and slipped out of the room.
After the door closed, Tang Yue pressed a hand to her flushed cheek.
She'd never been taken advantage of before—and now this boy had completely thrown her off balance!
Thinking about her own flustered behavior earlier, Tang Yue bit her lip, then chuckled softly. "Young men these days… not bad at all."
Song Jie went to the rooftop and summoned the Wind-Riding Skyhawk.
The creature's injuries had mostly healed, and its eyes shone with pride.
He hadn't expected it to reach the breakthrough threshold so soon—faster even than Little Green! That saved him a lot of resources.
"You broke through on your own? Then this is yours." Song Jie held up the Beast Refinement Blood.
"Coo! Coo!"
The Skyhawk's eyes gleamed as it drank eagerly.
"Refine it well," Song Jie said. "Advance to the Warrior-level soon."
The Wind-Riding Skyhawk circled joyfully in the air before disappearing into its summoning space.
Song Jie returned to his room and began cultivating his Summoning Element.
With two contracted beasts, his energy consumption was immense. He needed to strengthen himself fast.
The next day, Tang Yue had her own duties and couldn't accompany them, so Song Jie and Mo Fan decided to return to Magic City.
On the bullet train, Mo Fan was full of questions about Mingzhu Academy.
"Brother Jie, you've helped me so much. I'll treat you to dinner when we're back in Magic City!" Mo Fan said cheerfully.
Song Jie smiled. "I'll hold you to that."
"I'll bring Xinxia along too!" Mo Fan added.
Ye Xinxia had also arrived in Magic City recently.
Song Jie leaned back, satisfied. He had earned valuable beast advancement materials—and even shared an unforgettable moment with Tang Yue.
"Rich women really are the best," he murmured with a grin.
When he returned to the dorm, Mu Lei sighed. "You finally came back?"
"What happened?"
"Look there." Mu Lei pointed at the window.
The glass on the balcony was gone.
"Who did that?"
"Who do you think?" Mu Lei said bitterly. "You've won so many resources that now everyone's your enemy."
Song Jie chuckled helplessly. "Guess I'll take that as a compliment."
"So, where'd you go?" Mu Lei asked curiously.
"That's top secret," Song Jie said with a mysterious smile.
"Damn, now I'm even more curious!"
Song Jie smirked. "Did Jiaojiao say she misses me?"
Mu Lei raised an eyebrow. "Calling her 'Jiaojiao' now, are we? She's been training nonstop lately. Haven't seen her in days."
"Good," Song Jie nodded. "Looks like I should step it up too. Tomorrow, I'll apply to cultivate in the Three-Step Pagoda."
