Chapter 18 - CHAPTER 18:INTO TO BURIED AIRPORT

The buried airport stretched before them like a tomb. Collapsed terminals, shattered planes, and twisted steel littered every corridor. Dust hung thick in the air, carrying the acrid smell of smoke and decay. Every step stirred debris, threatening to collapse weakened structures.

Yuto led the way, katana in hand, its edge catching what little light filtered through the broken ceiling. "Everyone stay sharp. We need to find survivors before it's too late," he said, voice calm but tense. Memories of his sister and the innocents lost in past battles surged in his mind. I will not fail anyone today.

Sousuke gripped his Thunder Bolt weapon, arcs of electricity flickering along its length. "We move fast. Innocents could be trapped anywhere." His eyes glowed faintly with the intensity of Thunder Power, his mind prepared for combat.

Tatsusuke held dual-sided katanas, spinning them lightly in his hands. Fog crept from the vents as wind swirled around him. "The entire terminal is unstable. Watch every step." He activated Fog + Wind: Phantom Gale, ready to protect civilians or strike at threats.

Akari knelt near a puddle formed from broken pipes. Her spear glowed silver-blue as water swirled around it. "Follow the water; it will guide us to those trapped." She summoned Water Power: Tidal Strike, currents curling to light their path.

---

The first survivor appeared: a young child pinned under a fallen steel beam. Yuto's chest flared with determination.

"Not now… I won't fail," he muttered. He activated Sun Power: Solar Flare Strike (1st Technique). His katana ignited with golden light, cutting the beam cleanly. Sparks and dust erupted, and he lifted the child safely. "You're safe now," he whispered, scanning the shadows.

Akari's spear formed a Water Cushion with Ocean Spiral, softening falling debris. Tatsusuke spun his dual katanas with Wind + Fog: Gale Mirage, slicing through rubble and creating illusions to mislead dangers. Sousuke struck falling metal with Thunder Power: Sky Shatter from his Thunder Bolt weapon, sending arcs of electricity into debris to prevent collapses.

One by one, civilians were rescued. Yuto's Solar Flare Strike illuminated the dark corridors. But then the air shifted, heavy and foreboding.

A guttural growl echoed, shaking the terminal. Dust swirled violently, and shadows lengthened unnaturally. From the darkness emerged the Prime 10 Devil, sent by Akuma Ikari — massive, jagged bones fused with corrupted flesh, crimson eyes glowing with malice.

Yuto's chest tightened. "Akuma Ikari… he sent this monster." Memories of past battles flashed: chaos, destruction, innocent lives lost. Not here. Not now.

Sousuke's eyes glowed bright as electricity surged through his Thunder Bolt weapon. "We protect the innocents first!" He remembered all the times he had failed before, and now that guilt turned to determination.

Tatsusuke activated Fog + Wind: Phantom Gale, swirling mist and slicing winds around his dual katanas to shield civilians and disorient the Devil. Akari's spear formed Tidal Barrage, spiraling water to deflect attacks and guide survivors to safety.

The Devil lunged, massive claws swinging. Sousuke reacted first. He spun the Thunder Bolt weapon, gathering all his electrical energy. "Divine Storm Vortex!"

A spiraling vortex of lightning erupted, arcs dancing unpredictably around the Devil. The storm's magnetic pull dragged the creature toward its center, electrocuting it repeatedly. Shadow tendrils screamed as bolts tore through them, the ground cracking under the storm's immense energy. Sousuke's eyes glowed, fully in sync with his weapon, commanding the raw power of the 7th Thunder Power technique.

Tatsusuke's Phantom Cyclone struck from multiple angles, slicing the Devil's flanks with wind-boosted dual katanas. Akari twisted Ocean's Requiem currents around debris, forming barriers while slashing at the Devil with her spear.

Yuto leapt high above the chaos, katana blazing. Solar Flare Strike cut through the Devil's shadow tendrils, creating a safe corridor for civilians to escape. Sparks and debris flew as sunlight clashed with shadow.

Flashbacks surged as the battle raged: Yuto remembered his sister's final smile, Sousuke recalled surviving storms alone, Tatsusuke remembered deadly mountain gorges, Akari remembered every river she had protected. Every memory drove them forward.

The Devil roared and unleashed Shadow Surge, throwing corrupted energy and debris. Sousuke's Lightning Cage contained the shards, while Tatsusuke's Gale Mirage redirected attacks. Akari's Ocean's Requiem twisted water currents to shield civilians.

Finally, the last of the trapped innocents were guided to safety. Yuto's golden eyes met his friends'. "We protect the innocents first… then we fight." The others nodded, determination blazing.

The Prime 10 Devil now fully focused on the heroes. Akuma Ikari's intent was clear: this was a trap. But the four stood firm:

Yuto: Katana + Sun Power — Solar Flare Strike (1st Technique), Radiant Burst, Dawn's Edge

Sousuke: Thunder Bolt Weapon + Thunder Power — Storm Pulse, Sky Shatter, Storm Rift, Divine Storm Vortex (7th Technique)

Tatsusuke: Dual-sided Katanas + Fog + Wind — Phantom Gale, Gale Mirage, Phantom Cyclone

Akari: Spear + Water Power — Tidal Strike, Tidal Barrage, Ocean Spiral, Ocean's Requiem

The four heroes advanced, weapons ready, powers blazing, facing the Prime 10 Devil. Every memory, every technique, every ounce of power would be tested in the battle ahead.

The fight for the buried airport had begun — and failure was not an option.
