Chapter 54 - Chapter 53: The Sound of Asgard’s War Dance for Kai!

"Welcome to Asgard, child. I can see courage, kindness, and wisdom in you. You and Thor are friends who fought side by side, so don't feel constrained here. Treat Asgard as your own home."

After hugging Kai, Queen Frigga said with a warm, kind smile.

"Thank you for your generosity."

Listening to Frigga's gentle tone, Kai smiled as he stood beside Thor.

If he remembered correctly, in the original timeline, Thor brought Jane Foster to Asgard — and at this point, the Dark Elves launched their invasion.

The kind and noble queen standing before him would die at the hands of a cursed warrior.

But now that he was here, maybe things could change. Maybe he could save her.

Whether it was to obtain the complete Reality Stone or simply to protect Thor's mother — it didn't matter.

Thor was his friend.

Asgard Dungeon

Inside a transparent containment cell, Loki floated a chess piece in the air and caught it repeatedly — the same move, over and over.

He had been imprisoned since the Battle of New York.

Although Frigga had sent him many books, he'd already read them all. Now, boredom was his only companion.

In the cell across from him, things were different.

Several prisoners were locked together — among them, a tall figure wearing a strange mask: a cursed warrior.

Seeing no guards nearby, the masked prisoner untied his belt and reached into a hidden wound in his stomach, pulling out a dark stone soaked in blood.

Without hesitation, he crushed it.

The next instant, his body erupted in molten energy, magma-like power tearing through his flesh.

The other prisoners screamed and pounded the transparent barrier, but the cursed warrior exploded with force so violent it disintegrated everything nearby — prisoners and walls alike.

Loki, who'd been toying with his chess piece, stood and walked toward the glass wall, intrigued.

As the cursed warrior smashed through the restraints and began cutting down guards, Loki watched with a smirk.

When the warrior passed his cell, Loki said casually, "It's better to take the stairs on the left."

The cursed warrior glanced at him briefly but said nothing before continuing on.

Rainbow Bridge Terminal

Heimdall, sensing the invasion, immediately sounded the alarm.

He sprinted out from the terminal and leapt off the bridge, plunging onto an invisible dark elf ship below.

His twin blades pierced deep into the hull, ripping apart its power core.

The ship exploded and crashed onto the Rainbow Bridge.

But more dark elf ships appeared behind it, emerging from the shadows and firing on Asgard.

Heimdall dashed back toward the terminal and thrust his sword into the control slot, activating Asgard's defense barrier.

Inside the Royal Palace

"Kai, someone's invaded Asgard!"

Thor had just returned from interrogating soldiers about a dungeon riot when explosions echoed outside.

"Go to the dungeon, Thor," Kai said, rising from his chair and rolling his shoulders.

"Leave the ones outside to me. You helped protect Earth from destruction — now it's my turn to help Asgard."

Thor grinned, gripping Mjolnir.

"Thanks, brother. I'll buy you another round after this fight!"

With that, he soared away toward the dungeon.

Kai stepped out onto the balcony.

In the distance, he saw a dark elf warship hundreds of meters tall, flanked by smaller attack crafts tearing through Asgard's defenses.

His body flickered with light — photon energy coursing through him — and then he vanished.

The Battle for Asgard

"Boom!"

"Bang!"

"Da-da-da-da!"

Asgardian airships scrambled to respond, but caught off guard, many were shot down before even taking proper formation.

Dark elves landed on the streets, cutting down anyone in their way — men, women, children.

A mother shielded her crying daughter, trembling as a blade came down toward them.

But the killing blow never came.

When they opened their eyes, a man in a yellow-striped suit stood before them — Kai.

The dark elf who had raised his blade now lay lifeless on the ground.

"Save these civilians first!" Kai commanded the newly arrived Asgardian warriors.

Then, shaking his wrist, he turned toward the dark elf ranks.

"Oh, that's scary."

In the next second, he flashed forward like lightning.

Light exploded across the battlefield — bright, golden bursts scattering through the ranks of the dark elves.

"As expected of an ancient race," Kai muttered between strikes. "Tough bastards."

Each movement was a blur.

Each strike a flash.

Each enemy — erased.

Asgardian soldiers watched in awe as Kai tore through the invaders like a living sun.

One soldier slammed the butt of his spear against the ground.

Then another.

Then all of them.

"Bang!"

"Bang, bang!"

"Boom, boom, boom!"

The rhythm became a thunderous war drum — the sound of Asgard's warriors cheering their champion.

Kai grinned, grabbed a dark elf by the head, and his fingertip flared with light, piercing straight through the skull.

"As expected of Asgard," he said with a smirk. "Even your war cheers make my blood boil."

The system's voice echoed in his mind as Kai stepped forward, surrounded by the fallen dark elves — the sound of Asgard's war dance roaring around him.
