The three warriors of Asgard and Lady Sif peered through the window, watching Thor, who was lying in a hospital bed, slowly regaining consciousness.
Andre immediately stopped them."Thor is deep in thought right now—please don't disturb him."
"Thinking? Thor? Thinking?"The three Asgardian warriors suddenly looked delighted.
In their memory, Thor never needed to think — he just swung his hammer to solve problems.
Ignoring Andre's warning, the trio strode past him and entered the room.
Thor was sitting up, flipping through an unfamiliar book, reading with great interest.
"Thor!"
Hearing the voice, Thor looked up in surprise, eyes lighting up. "Volstagg! Hogun! Fandral! What are you all doing here?"
"Look who else is here."
The three stepped aside, revealing Sif standing behind them.
"Sif!" Thor exclaimed, genuinely surprised to see her. "Why are you here? I'm in the middle of a trial set by my father."
Sif rushed forward. "Thor, this is all Loki's doing! He's taken your father's place, and he's sending the Destroyer to kill you!"
Thor froze for a moment, then shook his head firmly. "Impossible! He's my brother. I watched him grow up!"
"He's also the God of Mischief — and Lies," Volstagg muttered, while the others nodded grimly.
RUMBLE!
A deafening sound shook the skies.
"The Destroyer is here!" Sif's face turned serious — the automaton had reached Midgard.
Grabbing Thor's arm, she said, "We'll hold it off. You need to use this time to recover your strength!"
She turned to the other warriors, who each patted Thor's shoulder in turn.
"Stay strong. We'll bring you good news."
The four ran off toward the source of the explosion.
Thor turned to Andre, who simply shrugged. "Let's move."
Outside the town, Agent Coulson nearly lost his hearing from the massive blast.
"What's going on?"
"Sir, a giant robot has appeared outside the town!" a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent reported, handing him a tablet.
"Robot?" Coulson frowned, taking the device.
The live feed showed a towering, humanoid machine striding toward the town.
"Evacuate everyone, now!" Coulson ordered, immediately dialing a number.
"There's a massive energy surge near your location. What's happening?" came Fury's voice from the other end.
"I'm sending you the footage now," Coulson replied, transmitting the video instantly.
"Set up a perimeter and clear the civilians. I'll handle the rest. And Coulson—find that guy who claims to be Thor."
"Copy that."
Coulson hung up, grabbed another agent, and said, "Come with me."
They arrived at the crater where the hammer had landed. Coulson's palms were sweating.
If this really was Thor, then when that machine arrived, the God of Thunder would surely come for his weapon.
Over his earpiece, Clint Barton's voice came through: "A car just pulled up—two people got out. One of them is your 'god of thunder.'"
"Let him through—now."
Thor stepped out of the car, only to be stopped by a stern agent.
"You're trying to stop me from claiming my hammer?" Thor's eyes darkened.
"Follow me," the man said flatly, before jogging ahead.
Thor blinked, confused, until Andre gave him a nudge. "Go on."
"Oh—right!" Thor hurried after him.
They reached the crater. Coulson glanced at Andre but said nothing, making a mental note to investigate him later.
With a kind smile, Coulson gestured toward the hammer. "Go ahead. See if you can lift it."
Thor ignored him and approached Mjolnir.
Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, gripped the handle tightly—"Wake up for me."
Nothing happened. The hammer didn't move.
Then Coulson's earpiece crackled again.
"Sir, the robot's heading your way. Four costumed individuals are trying to hold it off, but—"
"But what?"
"They won't last long."
Coulson's anxiety grew. Watching the determined Thor, he whispered, "Come on. You have to succeed."
On a distant hill, Nathan Hawke observed the battle between the Destroyer and the Asgardians through a scope.
Behind him, Max Dillon (Electro) stood ready, wearing a custom Umbrella combat suit designed to amplify his powers — absorb, amplify, and discharge electricity. The armor also included shock resistance, sensory enhancement, and tactical shielding.
"Boss, you want me to join in?" Max asked.
"No," Nathan replied calmly. "Just enjoy the show."
His original plan had been to let the media capture the chaos and then introduce Thor as the savior. But S.H.I.E.L.D. had already sealed off the area, preventing any leaks.
Andre's role was simple: protect Thor until his godly powers returned.
In the original timeline, Thor nearly died before reclaiming his strength. In some alternate realities, the story changed — sometimes he survived, sometimes he didn't, and sometimes he wasn't even Thor anymore.
Nathan couldn't take that risk.
Andre's telekinesis could protect Thor from debris, block attacks, and even move him out of harm's way.
Everything was in place for Thor's rebirth—and his eventual place in Nathan's Superhero Initiative.
Down on the battlefield—
"Hmph. You're the last ones left," sneered Loki through the Destroyer.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The four Asgardians were struck down, hurled through the air like rag dolls.
"Hahaha! Look at you—so pitiful," Loki taunted, his lips curling into a cruel smile. "Compared to a true god, your power is nothing."
"Kneel before me, swear your loyalty, and I shall reward you—as the rightful King of Asgard, Loki Odinson!"
Loki's laughter echoed across the field.
BOOM!
An explosion went off, but the Destroyer stood unharmed.
"Oh? A glowing insect dares challenge a god?" Loki sneered as he noticed Hawkeye loosing an arrow from afar.
He fired a beam of energy in response—then turned his attention elsewhere.
"I'll go check on my dear brother. Perhaps he's still sulking over that hammer."
As the Destroyer began marching toward the crater, Coulson's earpiece buzzed again.
"Sir, the robot is coming straight for you!"
"Everyone, fall back!" Coulson ordered.
Thor, however, refused to move. "I must lift the hammer."
Andre glanced at Coulson, who gestured for him to help—but Andre only shrugged.
With no choice, Coulson evacuated his men.
"I need your help," Thor said seriously, turning to Andre.
Hearing that, Andre smiled faintly. "Of course, my friend."
"Hold off the Destroyer. Just give me time."
"No problem," Andre replied, grinning. "Max and I will keep it busy. I look forward to seeing you rise again as the God of Thunder."
Andre patted him on the shoulder.
"Relax. Find your calm. Remember who you are—an Asgardian, a king."
He didn't say more; those were the exact lines Nathan had scripted for him—fifty in total, for every possible situation.
"Thank you, my friend," Thor said sincerely.
He gripped Mjolnir again, closed his eyes, and this time, instead of forcing it, he simply focused.
Tiny sparks of lightning flickered across his skin.
Andre smiled, then shot into the air.
"You can't stop me!"
Loki sneered, controlling the Destroyer as it unleashed another wave of energy blasts toward Sif and the warriors.
