Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 — A Death Too Embarrassing for Valhalla

I always imagined that when I died, it would be something grand. Maybe I'd go out saving a kitten from a burning building or discover a new form of magic — okay, science — that changed the world. Something heroic. Or at least respectable.

Instead…I died because an air freshener fell off a skyscraper and bonked me on the head.

Yes.A lemon-scented weapon of humiliation.

I remember staring up at the massive building, thinking about how beautiful the sky looked. A split second later, I became a headline:BRILLIANT LESBIAN SCIENTIST KILLED BY FALLING BATHROOM PRODUCT.

If there's a Goddess of Embarrassing Deaths, she definitely marked my name with a highlighter.

Then — darkness. Not painful. Just… gone.

Until suddenly, I wasn't.

The first thing I noticed was warmth. Not from sunshine, but something ancient and powerful. I tried to breathe — and succeeded. I tried to move — tiny hands, tiny body. Oh no. I'm a baby, aren't I?

Voices echoed around me, deep and thunderous, like rolling storms.

"She is perfect," a man boomed, pride lacing every word.

Power radiated from him like solar flares. Odin. The All-Father himself.

"Her name?" asked a woman with a voice soft as moonlight.

"Seidruna," Odin declared, as if naming a star into existence."Daughter of Odin. Born of magic. Sister to Hela."

Right.So that means—

A baby next to me let out a forceful, annoyed wail. My twin sister, I realized. Hela. Future Goddess of Death. Gothic hair, goth attitude, and future ruler of Hel.

And me?Silver hair. Skin pale as moonlight. Eyes glowing with runes of knowledge I didn't yet understand. My domains: Magic. Destiny. Knowledge.

Opposite sisters. Yin and yang. Crescent moon and void night.

We would be beautiful one day — that much was obvious. Even as infants, we were unnaturally pretty. It was unfair. And hilarious. The universe looked at two baby girls and said:

"Yes, make them dangerously hot."

Odin lifted us both high, showing us to a grand hall of cheering Asgardians clad in gold and shimmering armor.

"Daughters of Asgard!" he proclaimed."May they shape the fate of realms!"

You know… casual expectations.

While the crowd roared, my tiny infant brain buzzed with a new awareness — a spark of ancient magic flickering behind my sternum. Threads of destiny shimmered in the air, visible only to me. They connected every person in the room like glowing strings.

Knowledge. Magic. Fate.I could see it.I could feel it.

I was powerful… or would be.

But beneath the divine celebration, a ripple of tension pulsed from Odin. A thread of fate around him twisted — tangled — frayed.

A warning.

I couldn't speak. Couldn't move enough to tap his shoulder and say:

"Hey Dad, future you is kind of a jerk and we might want to talk about that."

So instead, I simply stared. A reincarnated lesbian scientist baby staring at the king of gods, silently judging him.

Well. This life would certainly be more exciting than the last.

Hel-baby Hela glared up at me like she already hated sharing the spotlight. I stuck my tongue out. She tried to bite me.

Sisterly love.

As my new parents held us close, something soft — like a memory — whispered through me:

Seidruna… shape destiny, or be shaped by it.

Challenge accepted.

From embarrassing death to divine rebirth. From scientist to goddess-in-training.

This time, I will write my own fate.

And maybe… get a cute girlfriend while I'm at it.
