Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Morning Practice Banger

Mike got clocked so hard by that sudden punch he saw stars. He lightly crumpled to the floor like a cheap lawn chair.

Then looked up.

And saw Satoru standing tall and straight.

…When the hell was this guy this tall?

Mike's brain lagged.

Then he met Satoru's murderous glare, and a subtle pain shot through his lower abdomen. A very delicate feeling of powerlessness.

"All good now."

Satoru grabbed Yukino Shinto's frost-white wrist and slowly led the bewildered woman to the end of the hallway, up the stairs.

"That guy shouldn't be making noise tonight."

The word "noise" could be interpreted any way you wanted.

"Mm…" Yukino nodded softly, glancing at the hand holding her wrist. She opened her mouth, hesitated, then stayed quiet.

Satoru asked instead: "Do you live alone, madam?"

"Yes," Yukino replied. "My husband passed away."

"…Figures. If someone else was home, they wouldn't let you come down alone." "My condolences."

Husband dead + manager said she couldn't pay rent → Yep, this was the opening of the Snow Woman arc.

Timeline check: If memory served, Takahashi said he'd come collect again this weekend. That was when the original story officially began.

The original male lead was supposed to be that sleazy manager Takahashi. With his own ability? Zero chance of ever touching Yukino Shinto in his lifetime.

But he got a mind-control ring, enslaved her, and the rest was a series of extremely fucked-up operations.

Now, Satoru's personal brand of pure-love doctrine was pretty chill: Husband dead = single woman = free to pursue happiness again. Not NTR.

BUT!

Any "love" built on mind control or violence was unforgivable trash!

Exception: the victim is a piece of shit who deserves it.

Yukino Shinto was clearly not that kind of villain.

So.

Satoru glanced at her.

Snow woman? Mine. Even Jesus can't have her. I said what I said!!

Yukino inexplicably felt an iron-clad determination from the boy's eyes. Her heart raced again; her fingers unconsciously clutched her chest.

This boy wasn't afraid of her freezing aura… He could even suppress it completely.

Yukino was at a total loss. She wanted to ask what was going on, but she didn't know if he had already figured out her true nature.

If he hadn't, asking would be outing herself as a demi-human…

"Then, I'll head back."

Satoru escorted her to her door, turned to leave.

Just as Yukino was torn between calling out or letting him go,

he suddenly looked back:

"…Even if I hadn't shown up, you'd have been fine, right?"

Yes.

Even without him, that black guy couldn't have done anything to her.

But that would've meant exposing her identity and forcing her to move again.

"Thank you," Yukino bowed deeply. "You're… Kobayashi-kun, yes?"

Did… did he already guess what I am?

"Yep. Kobayashi Satoru, 404, downstairs. Come find me if you need anything… if I can help." Satoru smiled.

Yukino wanted to say more, but he was already gone.

She almost chased after him, almost blurted: "I'm a yuki-onna, and you can suppress my body—"

But she couldn't.

Because there was something way more urgent.

Yukino squirmed, clutching her collar, thighs rubbing together—apart, together, apart again. Her snow-white face grew redder by the second.

She practically teleported inside, slammed the bathroom door, filled the tub with steaming water, stripped, and slipped in naked.

He really said… anything I need help with?

Adult yuki-onna who don't mate suffer worsening desire every single day.

Her late husband—technically fiancé—was frail to begin with. He pushed through with sheer passion, but ultimately couldn't withstand her freezing body. They never even consummated before he passed.

Good thing they didn't.

Elders always said: once you taste it, you can never stop.

Since she had never experienced it, she could still barely hold it together with manual mode…

Tonight she had already fallen asleep, but the noise downstairs made her too embarrassed to stay put, so she came down to ask for quiet.

And when yuki-onna get excited, they leak cold—same during the act. Normal humans can't climb into a snow woman's bed without risking their lives. One or two times at most, then they're done for.

That's why yuki-onna marry other cold-resistant demi-humans.

But in modern society? Good luck finding one that isn't a greenhouse flower.

Having missed her chance once, Yukino had resigned herself to eternal solitude.

Yet tonight, downstairs,

Kobayashi Satoru…

Actually existed.

Saved her without hesitation.

Face exactly her type.

Oh my god.

Had all her quiet prayers actually summoned a living Bodhisattva of salvation?

Yukino lay in the hot water, hands working like a seasoned artisan.

The faceless "N" man in her fantasies finally gained a clear face.

"Satoru— Kobayashi— Satoru— good little brother— good little brother— save me— save me— hurry— save me—"

That night,

the snow woman triggered an avalanche.

Morning practice, all clubs as usual.

Satoru hummed while warming up. Ever since deciding to get stronger, he refused to skip morning training again.

"Since there's no way~ why hold a grudge~~???"

"Just remember him in your heart~~???"

"Kobayashi-senpai, what song is that?" Kase Masafumi jogged over, cheeks flushed from running.

Satoru grinned and belted it out:

"You're nei-nei-ge nei-nei~ nei-ge nei-ge nei-nei~ nei-nei-ge nei-nei~ nei-ge nei-ge nei-nei~~~"

Last night when he got back to the fourth floor, Mike was still sitting on the ground, dazed.

Satoru seized the chance and sang the whole damn song at max volume right in his face.
