Kanna slapped her forehead... "Damn it, something's happened!"
Although Ifrit usually had a bad temper and often caused fires due to her Originium Arts, she was definitely not the kind of child who would run away from home.
And with Dahlia's critical condition, Ifrit shouldn't have been unaware. But her choice not to continue Dahlia's treatment on Rhodes Island and instead take her away proved one thing... Ifrit knew Dahlia didn't have much time left, and there was something Dahlia absolutely had to do that could only be accomplished by leaving Rhodes Island.
Thinking of this, Kanna patted Popukar and Rosmontis on the shoulders. "Ifrit and Dahlia are in trouble. I am an Elite Operator and have the right to temporarily leave the ship in an emergency. You two wait here; I'll bring them both back."
Although the other two were also very worried about Ifrit and Dahlia, they knew keeping Kanna there was useless, so they agreed.
After saying goodbye to her friends, Kanna first ran back to her dorm to grab the pure originium, then headed straight for the deck.
Fen and her squad, who were conducting their daily training on the deck, saw Kanna instantly dart to the top of the bridge after the door opened.
The Operator in charge of the Lookout Tower hadn't even reacted before Kanna had grabbed him by the collar.
"Which direction did Doctor Silence and her party leave in?"
???
Suddenly caught off guard by Kanna, the Operator didn't react for a moment.
"I said, which direction did Doctor Silence and her party leave in?" Kanna's tone grew heavier.
"That way! Doctor Silence's convoy headed in that direction earlier!"
Another Operator nearby reacted at this point, pointing in the direction Silence's group had left.
Kanna looked in the direction of the finger. There were fresh tire tracks on the ground, confirming the other person was likely correct.
Releasing the Operator, Kanna suddenly exerted force, and her entire body shot out of the Lookout Tower like an arrow from a bowstring.
After Kanna left, the two reconnaissance Operators looked at each other for a while before coming back to their senses. They immediately sent news of what had happened above and Kanna's departure from Rhodes Island to the Control Room.
Kal'tsit wasn't surprised to hear that Kanna had jumped directly from the deck of Rhodes Island, because Priestess had already conveyed this information to Kal'tsit the moment Kanna began tracking a specific target.
Kal'tsit had guessed what Kanna would do, but she chose not to stop her. Instead, she had Priestess give Kanna the green light all the way, which was how Kanna was able to leave Rhodes Island so quickly.
At this moment, Kanna was rushing at an extremely high speed in the direction the vehicles had gone. Soon, she discovered a vehicle overturned on the ground ahead, and in the nearby stone forest, she could see rising flames and splashing water.
She ran to the entrance of the stone forest in quick strides, seeing Silence and the injured Operators.
Hearing footsteps behind them, the group turned around and saw Kanna running towards them at high speed.
"Kanna! Why are you here?" Silence seemed very surprised to see Kanna.
"It's all Ifrit! We agreed her junior would be my friend too, but after two days, she secretly ran off with her junior. I can't accept that..." Kanna said as she moved to the front of the group.
From here, the situation on the battlefield was clear. Ifrit was using flames to control Dahlia's water flow within a certain range, while another woman, exuding an overwhelming sense of security, was charging towards Dahlia. The sand beneath her feet transformed into square blocks that gathered around her as she charged.
"Yo! Ifrit looks pretty cool in that outfit... Is that Ifrit's Stand?" Since both sides were still alive, it proved she had arrived just in time. Kanna rarely complained, but she couldn't help but comment on Ifrit, whose fiery demon silhouette had risen behind her due to her full release of Originium Arts.
At this moment, Saria had also gotten close to Dahlia. Her powerful Calcification Arts and Vouivre / Wyvern's exceptional physical constitution allowed her to withstand Dahlia's control over the water in her body.
When Ifrit once again intensified her firepower, blasting a gap in the water flow around Dahlia, Saria suddenly lunged forward, breaking through the ring of water surrounding Dahlia, and then injected her special tranquilizer into Dahlia's body.
The next second, Dahlia fell unconscious, and the surrounding water lost control and scattered onto the ground.
Seeing the battle end, Kanna hopped over to Ifrit's side.
At this moment, Ifrit looked at the unconscious Dahlia, her heart filled with sadness. She knew Dahlia was terminally ill, beyond cure. But a friend she had just found was about to leave before they could even have fun together.
Kanna raised her hand and patted Ifrit's shoulder, then looked at Dahlia's condition. The exposed Originium growths on Dahlia's limbs looked horrifying.
Silence behind her also turned her head away in discomfort. In this situation, even with the most advanced medical equipment and top-tier oripathy treatment specialists, they would be helpless, let alone in this wilderness with nothing.
Ifrit explained why she had taken Dahlia from Rhodes Island. With tears in her eyes, she said she hoped to fulfill their last promise before Dahlia left.
Saria silently acknowledged Ifrit's wishes and handed Dahlia to her.
Looking at the group of people plunged into sorrow and the dying Dahlia, Kanna sighed. It seemed she could only use her last resort.
She walked to the side and said, "As long as it's not the very last step, there's still a chance. I have a method that might save Dahlia, but it's very likely she won't be able to live as a human anymore. Doctor Silence, under these circumstances, do you think it's acceptable to use it?"
Hearing Kanna's words, everyone showed surprised expressions. Silence frowned. "What do you mean, 'unable to live as a human anymore'?"
Kanna shrugged. "Literally. It means that once this method is used, her thoughts and memories will still be Dahlia's, but she herself will no longer be Dahlia... You understand what I mean, right?"
Silence nodded, then shook her head, a hint of wariness in her eyes. "I understand the words, but I can't comprehend it! What exactly are you trying to do?"
Kanna didn't answer her question but looked at Ifrit. "You're Dahlia's older sister, so do you think this plan can be implemented?"
Hearing Kanna's words, Ifrit was somewhat speechless. As someone from a laboratory, she understood that Kanna could save Dahlia, but it was very likely that Dahlia would no longer be the Dahlia she was now.
Having suffered through experimental pain, she knew how tragic the outcome of such an unknown thing could be, which made her unsure how to answer.
