Chapter 154 - Chapter 153: Friends Must Study Together

"Saving lives and helping the injured is our responsibility as Doctors. You don't need to thank me for this. On the contrary, if it weren't for your timely detection, we would have had great difficulty escaping those pursuers."

Silence was much more clear-headed now. She nodded at Kanna and said with a smile.

"No need for thanks. I just happened to run into Ifrit on the way. Speaking of which, I remember you've all been on Rhodes Island for a long time, but this is the first time I've seen you!"

Kanna recalled that Silence and her two companions had been on the island for a long time, but as someone who roamed around, she had never encountered them within Rhodes Island, even though they had brushed past each other a few times, it seemed to be mostly near the Medical Department.

Silence looked at Ifrit with a doting expression. "Ifrit's oripathy is very severe and requires constant observation, so Ptilopsis and I generally focus on taking care of Ifrit. Our outings are usually for emergencies or attending academic conferences, so it's normal that you haven't seen us."

Kanna nodded in understanding. Ifrit's condition indeed wasn't suitable for wandering around Rhodes Island (though she often did it anyway), but if she had no friends or peers, her life would be too dull. Kanna suddenly had an idea, thinking of Whisperain's small class.

"I see. Hmm, I have a suggestion. I wonder if Doctor Silence would be willing to hear it. Doctor Whisperain has a small class in her office. Currently, I, Popukar, and Rosmontis are attending. If you don't mind, Ifrit could also come to listen! Her office is conveniently in the medical area and not far from here..."

Ifrit's eyes lit up upon hearing this. As a child, her memories and life had mostly been confined to the medical room, surrounded by various medical instruments. Only after coming to Rhodes Island did she gain some freedom. Now, hearing that she could make friends with other children her age, how could she not be happy?

Silence, on the other hand, was somewhat hesitant. After all, Ifrit's physical condition was among the most severe Infected on Rhodes Island, and she feared that if something went wrong, she wouldn't be able to provide aid in time.

"Don't worry! Teacher Whisperain's medical skills are also excellent, and she's a very kind person. Besides, there aren't many students in the class. How about I take you to visit? I'm sure Teacher Whisperain will agree to let Ifrit attend."

Seeing Silence's hesitation, Kanna spoke up.

Finally, under Ifrit's eager gaze, Silence nodded.

"Then let's go take a look. If it's truly as you say, it would be a good thing for Ifrit to attend classes."

"Yay!"

Upon hearing Silence agree, Ifrit jumped up happily.

Led by Kanna, the group quickly arrived at Whisperain's office door. Just as Kanna had said, it wasn't far from Ifrit's ward; it took them only five minutes to walk there. Even if a problem arose, Silence could quickly arrive.

By this point, Silence had already agreed to the matter internally. As for Whisperain's teaching ability, she didn't care. After all, for Ifrit, the purpose of coming here was simply because there were peers. Silence also hoped that with the companionship of her peers, Ifrit could be a little happier in the days to come.

Upon opening the door, Kanna found Whisperain standing at the entrance, her delicate frame now exuding a powerful aura, while not far away, Popukar sat in her seat, eyes slightly red, sobbing.

"Kanna~~~~~ You said you were going to the restroom, and you've been gone for half the day? I think you're quite something!"

Hearing Whisperain's words, a row of cold sweat appeared on Kanna's forehead... She suddenly remembered that she had used the excuse of going to the bathroom to run off and play, and after meeting Ifrit, she had forgotten about it. Not only had she forgotten, but she had also walked right back into Whisperain's trap... "No, listen to me justify—bah! Listen to me explain. Ta-da! Do you see the people behind me? This is Doctor Silence and Doctor Ptilopsis, and this is Ifrit. I happened to meet her halfway back. She doesn't have much to do normally, and I thought, Teacher Whisperain, you're so capable, teaching one is teaching, adding one more would be more than enough for you, so I brought her back..."

Seeing Whisperain getting closer, Kanna's speaking skills went into overdrive, and in just a few seconds, she had re-'embellished' the entire story and recounted it.

Whisperain looked up at Silence. She had met Silence several times and greatly admired her exquisite medical skills. Naturally, she had also heard that Silence had a child with a very severe oripathy condition, and that Silence had brought that child to Rhodes Island.

She looked at Ifrit, her eyes narrowing slightly. Ifrit's limbs showed very obvious traces of oripathy. Just by visual inspection, Whisperain could tell how severe her condition was.

But even with such a severe condition, the child's eyes were still full of hope and enthusiasm, proving how seriously the doctor treating her cared for and loved her.

"Doctor Silence, I heard about your previous seminar on emergency procedures, and I was very impressed by your emergency response plan for oripathy first aid. It's a great honor to meet you."

Knowing their purpose, Whisperain invited them into the office. Of course, as Kanna walked in, the usually good-tempered Whisperain couldn't help but give her a gentle tap on the head as punishment for skipping class.

"Popukar, this is someone I met outside just now. Her name is Ifrit, and she'll be our classmate and study with us here!"

Holding her head, Kanna walked back to Popukar's side, plopped down next to her, took her hand, and pointed to Ifrit, who was looking around, saying.

Upon hearing Kanna's introduction, Ifrit pointed to herself with one hand and then spat out a puff of flame.

"Ha! I am Ifrit, do you want to be my minion? Ow, Silence, don't hit my head..."

Before Ifrit could be arrogant for more than three seconds, Silence pressed down on her head for her casual arson.

Ifrit obediently sat on Kanna's other side, picked up a book, and started looking at it curiously. She found that it wasn't a textbook as she had imagined, but a book chronicling the history and culture of a country, with many pictures, making the book very engaging. Ifrit, who had only picked up the book to pass the time, began to read it with great interest.

On the other side, Silence, who had been constantly observing Ifrit, breathed a sigh of relief when she saw her quietly sit down and read, then began chatting with Whisperain.

Compared to the well-rounded Silence, Whisperain, though lacking in some areas, had many insights in pharmacology and clinical medicine that brightened Silence's eyes.
