"Alright, 5 views, not bad!"
"............................................................... I AM LITERALLY MORE FAMOUS IN THE SMASH BROTHERS RANKINGS…"
"Wait really? How far did you get?"
"Like top 5%... that's as good as diamond you fucking scrub."
"…"
"…"
"Anyways… as a reminder, that is not the reason I am here! It is not so you can play more of the video games, but so you can play less of them in fact."
"Wah wah I'm Mr. Sol, I was never good enough at Smash Brothers so magically the only game I play now is League of Legends!"
"I'm sorry… I am a pixie…we do not have this concept of "gaming" in our world… who is it you are talking about Calypso?"
"Oh nothing… just some noob I once knew… Anyways what do we do now then Mr. "Pixie" man…"
"Hmmm… well if there's anything I remember from JYP, it's that you must train every part of the entertainment spectrum. For example, I've seen many many many many Chaeyoung dance practices, as well as variety shows, as well as melody projects, as well as…"
"JUST SAY WHAT I HAVE TO DO NEXT…"
"Fine fine uhhh…"
Hmmm… there had to be some sort of conversion method into the very silly gamer's brain to convert to art. But perhaps going into higher creative levels was a bit of a stretch for now. Afterall, without the proper boundaries of rhythm and…
"…"
It suddenly hit me what I had to do.
4 Years Ago: First Year at the Academy
Professor Palavi: Ok class! As a surprise, we are going on a field trip today!
"Yeahhhhhh," the class cheered. All except the very stern student teacher Ms. Rheni.
Student Teacher Rheni: What? But Professor… do we have the time for such matters? They haven't mastered their vocal ranges at all.
Professor Palavi: Not only do we have time Rheni, but actually… for the development of the student pixies, it's an absolute necessity that we do!
Rheni blinked with concern on her face.
Rheni: Professor…
Professor Palavi: OKAY, and with that settled does anyone know where we will be going to today?
Damian: Uhhhh… the club?
Professor Palavi: No Damian…
Robles: Round 1?
Professor Palavi: DING DING DING! That's right class, we're going to the arcade!
Rheni: And how is that supposed to help their development as pixie artists, professor…
Professor Palavi: Well Rheni…
Professor Palavi said as she grabbed the sunglasses on her table putting them on.
Professor Palavi: Haven't you heard of… D… D… R?"
*Fast Forward to Present*
"Okay Calypso…" I began taking a deep breath, "we have to…"
"We have to?"
"Go to…"
"Go to?"
"The…"
"The?"
"AR…"
"ARCADE!" Calypso said prematurely… "OMG OMG OMG I went like… once every other day when I was younger! There's a Round 1 right next to where I live that has the beeeesssttttttt prize to ticket ratios! That's how I won my Incineroar figurine over there!"
She pointed to the abnormally large Incineroar figurine sitting on the other side of her room. From a distance it looked terrifying.
"I was going to say Art Museum…"
"Wtf… NO CHANCE… all there is there is like… some fruit and shit. We can Ai Generate that nowadays ya know!"
"…Okay… just to save us from having a conversation again on the ethics of ai art… we shall go to the arcade... BUT MUSIC GAMES ONLY… YA GOT THAT…"
"Fine fine… we can start with the guitar hero machines then?"
"Idk… do idols really know how to play guitar or…"
"They have Bocchi the Rock songs on there…"
"Ok yes! Let's very much start with the guitar hero machines then! UwU"
"…"
30 Minutes Later at the Arcade
"Wait no no… you have to max with the whammy bar and…"
"NO BACKSEAT STRUMMING…"
Around us was a crowd of people gathered in amusement as the seemingly schizophrenic adult Asian lady yelled in the air while landing an honestly pretty impressive amount of the notes on the guitar hero machine.
"YOU WIN… PERFECT SCORE…"
"Ha! See, I know what I'm doing!"
"That was the easiest difficulty…"
Pretty impressive for a toddler that is…
"Yeah SO…! A perfect is still a perfect!"
"Let's get out of here junior…" one of the spectators said grabbing her child's hand and walking away from us.
"Make sure to not major in liberal arts when you are older."
As the two of them began walking away though, the junior looked over at Calypso and gave her a thumbs up.
"That's okay…" Calypso said giving her a thumbs up as I could see her grimacing.
"I don't need the respect of boring adults! I just need the respect of kids!"
"Is it because you're a shoto-con?"
"…"
"Honestly if you think about it, anyone who watches Frieren… Owwwww"
She bumped me hard with her shoulder.
"OKAY… MOVING ON…" she said, setting the guitar down.
"What's next? Those ring music games? Or…"
"Tommmboooyyyyyy"
We looked to our right to see the "Pump it Up" Machines and what looked like a 12-year-old prodigy child hitting perfect scores on the highest difficulties.
"Woah…"
Calypso's eyes widened as she ran towards the prodigy.
"Meh, pretty standard tbh…" I muttered following behind her.
"OMG OMG OMG, that was amazing!"
"Uhhh… Calypso…"
The wide-eyed girl leaned down to the young boy who had a look of absolute terror on his face.
"I'm… I'm sorry Miss! I'll let you use the machine now!"
"Uhhh…"
Before she could give an actual response, the boy scurried away from the machine.
"…"
"Shotocon…" I whispered, flying next to her.
"Shut up!"
Another swift shoulder hit came towards me.
"In any case…" I said, gathering myself and flying next to her again.
"Looks like the machine's free now! Let's get some practice in."
She groaned but did as I suggested and swiped her card loading up to play songs on the machine.
*4 level 3 difficulty songs later*
"How…" she was panting trying to get her words out.
"How the…" more panting began as she chugged the water bottle she had brought.
"How the HELL are the middle schoolers so good at this…"
"Daily practice I'd guess…"
"Daily… am I going to have to come here every day!?!?!"
"Well, I mean… maybe not every day but…"
"ALRIGHT, IT'S A DEAL!" Calypso said putting her thumb up at me.
"…"
I gave out a soft smile though, at least she was showing willingness to leave the house for… more video games… but at least they were musical video games! And they did seem to help her rhythm at least.
"Another round?"
"Another round!"
We spent the rest of the day playing various music games. By the end Calypso looked so exhausted, she was practically sweaty as if she had just finished a gym workout or something.
"Al… alright," she said looking at her cellphone clock, "I… I think we should at least grab some lunch for now, no? It's almost noon!"
"Us Pixies get our energy from photosynthesis actually… we don't have this concept of "food" like you humans do."
She looked at me in horror.
"WHAT… you mean… you've never…"
"Hey, what are you…"
She went up to me and began patting my head gently.
"Oh, you poor thing… no wonder you're so sarcastic and grumpy all the time! You've not known the joys of the greatest restaurant known to mankind!"
"Which is…"
"Panda Express!"
"… isn't that just a fast-food place?"
"HUH…what?!?! The nerve!" She said folding her arms and walking away from me, "just for that… I'm going to have to eat there right now!"
"…"
Well… she was right though, and from what Professor Palavi had taught us, an average human needed nourishment 3 times a day to be able to perform at their best when their time comes. So, without argument, I followed Calypso to the cafeteria part of the arcade.
