My breathing grew ragged, the shimmering sound effects, countless notifications, and fireworks all over the screen were so perfect that one might think a gacha company made this system.
'Criminal, heh? Not bad. Not bad at all!' I do need agility to escape, and stealth is a very nice added boon.
[charisma] loss, even though it hurt, wasn't that bad of a trade. I still have 21…
But, in the back of my mind, I made a mental note to spend some stat points on them later on because ain't no way I am getting the level of harem I want with just 21!
Stealth, huh? It was surprising to say the least. An entirely new attribute?
Classes mattered a lot! And if classes were given purely from my actions...
I need to be more careful about them!
[Extra rewards: Newbie Gift pack]
Eh? This shit was just quest rewards?
…I love you so fucking much system!
[Hehe, I am aware of my greatness sire. You can make a choice in the rewards of the newbie giftpack btw. (;]
My jaw tightened as my lips unconsciously curled into the widest of grins with my fangs shining under the dim lantern's light.
'Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!'
[Choose carefully tehehe, your life depends on this T_T]
[Option 1: 100 stat points. Body healed back to the prime. No one stopping a 100 Stealth/Agility version of host!]
[Option 2: Level up to level 10 instantly. (Multiple rewards like new skills, stat points, etc are rewarded at every level up. Your vampire abilities too improve immensely at level ups.)]
[Option 3: Unlock one Echo. Elixir of the first dawn. Can skip the whole process and summon echo instantly. Elixir of the first dawn allows you to recover anyone's physical body to the deepest levels, back to their prime for 20 minutes(One time usage item)]
[Option 4: Hand of tomorrow. Allows the user to borrow all powers, from skills, stats, combat experiences from their future self for three minutes.]
Holy shit! My body began trembling, my fingers digging in the stone ground.
This was just too much, I want everything! My eyes were glued to the first option, I will definitely be invincible if I chose this… my single slap was able to send a six feet tall muscular man flying like a cannon ball at just barely double diget strength. I almost pressed it, being both healed and buffed was simple and easy way to escape, but I froze as a though struck me.
Level up almost always provide the most buffs in any game… Maybe I will get way more than 100 stat points and much more. Skills, vampire abilities buffed, and automatic balanced growth…
But, it's vague. With stat points I can just increase my strength and agility by 50-50 and escape…
The same applied to option 3, and 4. Vague. What if the future in option 4 meant two-three days in future, or even if it meant years, and I would certainly be very strong, three minutes were just way too low of time to do anything.
Similarly, the hero could just refuse to help me. There's no sort of binding that forces them to comply, and it does say fallen hero, a hero might've just helped me out of goodwill, but fallen hero? It could mean many things…
For a single moment, I froze, my pupils shrinking.
"I know what I want the most."
…
[…Are you sure about choosing option 3, host? It helps your current status in no way.]
"Yes." I muttered while rubbing my hands through the white robe of the old man.
I was doubting myself again. I already managed to kill someone far more expirienced, and shrewd than me, escaped all on my own. I don't need something that just gives me a quick higher chance, it's boring. And level 10 or 100 stat points could just not be enough…
The situation I am in… it's too much of unpredictable to be trying to not take risks, and playing risks. Option three and four and high risk, and high reward. Even as much as I trust my future self to be strong, three minutes is just too little of time.
With option three, I get enough time to convince that echo, and most importantly… unlock them. Something I'd need to earn over 10,000 XP for.
I can't just be thinking about surviving today, things will only get worse for the last vampire after he manages to escape. Primordial trials… I need that high risk, high reward powers if I want to do what I want in such a world….
And to add on, a hero's experience, and wisdom could help me way more than just boosts.
Just gotta convince them…
I holstered the golden revolver of the dried leaf of a man in my trouser.
It had just one simple safety lock, and an easy-to-press trigger. I can use it in emergencies, or to threaten someone or something, but it wasn't something to rely on.
I know I can't aim for shit.
The force of the bullet is also slightly slower, with the barrel knocking back at every press of the trigger—before the bullet even exits the nozzle.
I will have to take into account all these factors, angles, and then aim properly. Even with my vampire senses, it will be hard.
Though in close combat, I am confident enough to keep this as a trump card… I nodded repeatedly to myself.
My eyes suddenly brightened at the red screen processing my reward.
The golden tree glowed as one of the branches pulsed, a mysterious piercing golden energy convulsing with the circle, the number 0% transformed into 100%, and then molded into an a man wearing samurai armor, and helmet's face.
As I was admiring the details of the icon that turned into a button, my head trembled with a sharp pain as my eyes blurred.
Next second, my hands were clenching hard on something, something like a paper but way tougher, hard and cold.
