Chapter 145 - Chapter 146: A Solid Reputation is Established

Watching this scene in the movie, Taylor Swift suddenly looked over at Luke.

She smiled and asked, "Do you remember the day we met?"

How could he forget?

Luke certainly remembered that night on the train, when he walked out of the restroom only to be cornered by Taylor confessing her feelings.

Luke smiled and replied, "How could I ever forget, Ms. Swift?"

Hearing Luke's answer, Taylor felt her heart race, almost jumping out of her chest. She worked to steady her voice and, mimicking Elizabeth's line from the movie, said, "How many times do I have to tell you? Call me Taylor!"

She was hoping Luke would sincerely respond with: "At least one more time, Ms. Swift!" If he did, the rest of the viewing party tonight wouldn't even matter.

But Luke wasn't going to make it that easy for her.

He just smiled and replied, "Okay, !"

Luke had only ever called her puella in his head; he had never used the name to her face.

Hearing this, Taylor Swift froze.

puella?

"It sounds like a latin word. What does 'puella' mean? Why are you calling me that?"

Luke just smiled and shook his head, saying nothing. He believed that with him around, Taylor Swift wouldn't be saddled with the "puella" nickname in this timeline. Keeping it in his heart as an affectionate private name for her felt right.

### The Legendary Captain Jack Sparrow

The movie continued on the big screen.

Next up was the entrance of Captain Jack Sparrow, now essentially the second male lead, played by Johnny Depp. He was wearing tattered pirate clothes, his face smudged with dark eyeliner, and he stood confidently at the top of the ship's mast, staring straight ahead with focused eyes.

Accompanied by heroic, swelling music, his ship was slowly sinking. Just as it reached the dock, the ship perfectly disappeared beneath the waves, and Captain Jack Sparrow casually stepped off the mast and onto the wooden pier.

"Hahaha, that entrance is hilarious!"

"That look—frazzled yet composed, masculine but with a touch of the eccentric—I love this Jack Sparrow."

Captain Jack's epic, comedic introduction immediately won over the audience in the theater, and the air was filled with joyous laughter.

However, two people nearby disagreed.

The short, stocky man next to Luke said dismissively, "He looks like he hasn't showered in days. He must smell terrible. I don't like dirty men."

"Me neither. And all that eyeliner is too effeminate. A man should be more masculine!" the taller man agreed.

Luke wasn't sure how to respond to their critique.

The plot moved on. Captain Jack tried to steal a ship, and then saw Elizabeth fall from a high structure.

"Splash!"

As white foam sprayed, Elizabeth slowly sank into the sea. Without hesitation, Captain Jack dove into the water, swimming toward Elizabeth and successfully rescuing her.

This scene sparked more discussion in the theater:

"Captain Jack's dive was so cool, and his swimming form was perfect. I didn't expect Depp to have that in him!"

"I heard the actors went through a lot of trouble filming that part. It was really cold, and the water was freezing. Look how lightly they're dressed, but they had to make it look like summer. The actors really worked hard."

"I heard that too! Apparently, there was a minor accident. I heard the blooper reel at the end has that part."

"Really? I'm glad nothing serious happened. I'll stick around for the bloopers."

"Why do I feel like this Captain Jack is a little taller? And the muscle definition looks better?" the short man next to Luke noticed, whispering to his companion.

"I feel it too. Normally, I'd instinctively feel a little grossed out by Captain Jack, but this one, whose face is hard to see, actually looks pretty good," the tall man agreed.

Luke was genuinely surprised by their conversation. He hadn't expected their instincts to be so sharp. That particular sequence wasn't filmed by Depp; Luke had performed it as the stunt double.

### The Duel and the Bullet

The film continued. The next plot point was Captain Jack, having just rescued Elizabeth, being identified as a famous pirate. He was forced to take Elizabeth hostage. After a dramatic chase involving parkour, Captain Jack ended up in the blacksmith shop where Will Turner worked.

The first face-off between the two male leads had begun!

The audience expected a spectacular, back-and-forth duel, as most action movies are filmed that way, and Luke's fight choreography was famous for its brilliance.

Instead, the audience saw this:

Captain Jack swung his sword with all his might, but Will merely gave it a light deflection. The sword flew out of Jack's hands and slammed down sharply between his legs.

The audience burst into laughter at Captain Jack's shocked and comical expression.

Next, Captain Jack, not daring to get close to Will, threw four long swords from a distance. Will batted them all away, instead using them to pin Captain Jack firmly against the wall.

The entire theater erupted in even louder roars of laughter.

"That's hilarious! I can't believe Luke designed such a funny fight scene."

"It has Jackie Chan's style, but it's not the same. It's really entertaining."

"Depp's performance here is great; he perfectly captures this cheeky, ridiculous Captain Jack."

"It was all shot in a single long take. I'm curious how Luke managed to hit those exact spots with the thrown swords."

"If you've seen Luke's viral video of him shooting from half-court, you wouldn't question it."

On screen, a desperate Depp pulled out a pistol and pointed it at Will, thinking he'd finally gotten the upper hand: "Your swordsmanship is incredible, but what good is it? The times have changed!"

Facing the muzzle of the pistol, Will calmly replied, "You can try shooting!"

In the next moment, the audience watched Will slice the bullet fired from the pistol clean in half with his sword.

"You said the times have changed?"

The line immediately sent the audience into a frenzy.

"Hahaha, that line is so over-the-top, I love it!"

"Splitting a bullet is maybe a bit too much, right? It feels unrealistic."

"If you've seen Luke's Kendo videos from Japan, you wouldn't doubt it. 'Sword Saint?' I haven't been that for a long time!"

"Another epic, boastful line! How does Luke come up with this stuff?"

On the big screen, Captain Jack, facing a long sword held to his throat, could only throw up his hands and surrender, wide-eyed.

By now, the atmosphere in the theater was fully electric. The dense, brilliant plotting in the short 10-plus minutes since the opening had completely captivated the audience.

Seeing the audience's reaction, Luke knew that the good word-of-mouth for the movie was already guaranteed.
