A red glow covered its crimson body.

But at that exact moment, Ninetales, who had been tens of meters away, vanished and reappeared right in front of Scizor.
Its mouth was already open, flames roaring inside.

With three Pokémon down (including the switched-out Araquanid which counts as a loss in this context or maybe just Scizor faint -> 2 down, Araquanid fainted -> 3 down total?), Hua Mingyan only had her final Pokémon left.
Kenji, on the other hand, had won two rounds effortlessly. His Pokémon hadn't even taken a scratch.
This completely crushed any thought Hua Mingyan had of holding back.
If she sent out another Elite-level Pokémon, even her main team members probably wouldn't stand a chance against Kenji's Ninetales and Arbok.
"Go! Volcarona!!"
Finally, Hua Mingyan threw a Luxury Ball.

A beam of red light shot onto the battlefield, revealing the Sun Pokémon.

Arbok flew onto the field once again.

Volcarona stared down at Arbok with its compound eyes, flames raging around it like a high-and-mighty sun god.

Arbok was proud. Even facing the pressure of a Champion-level mon, it didn't retreat a single step.
It raised its upper body, and the pattern on its chest shifted again.
This time, it was the Dragon Might Pattern!!
Arbok let out a low growl. The pattern on its chest morphed into the shape of a dragon's head. As the empty eyes of the dragon pattern lit up with a crimson glow...
