Chapter 57: The Infatuated "Maiden" Biscuit x The Honest Kid Wing
"Sir, your dinner has arrived~"
A sweet, feminine voice sounded from outside the door. Roy's brow furrowed, but he didn't answer.
He was certain he hadn't ordered any food. And Gotoh, out of caution, would never do so without reporting to him first. That left only one possibility—
—an uninvited guest.
Ding-dong... The doorbell rang again, and the voice repeated her line.
The growth was reaching its peak. The tracksuit he was wearing couldn't withstand the expansion of his body and, with a rip, was torn to shreds, leaving him half-exposed and revealing the handsome, powerful muscle definition underneath.
"Just leave it at the door," Roy said, gritting his teeth against the intense pain as he reached for his cane sword.
He swore that if the person outside made another move, he would strike without the slightest hesitation.
Fortunately, the noise outside stopped. The server replied sweetly, "Okay," and then she truly left. He could faintly hear her footsteps growing softer until they disappeared completely.
Phew... Roy let out a breath and refocused on his breakthrough. About a minute later, he stood up. In the reflection of a full-length mirror in the corner, he saw a "new" version of himself. He had grown another centimeter taller and looked a bit broader. The newly grown hair was still thick and black, shining with a brilliant luster under the setting sun.
"Very good."
The pain hadn't been unbearable, and the changes weren't so drastic as to arouse suspicion. He would continue with the plan of "three points a day."
Grrrowl...
His new body craved nourishment. His stomach rumbled loudly, reminding Roy that he needed to replenish his energy.
The dinner the server had brought was just outside his door. The aroma wafted through the gap, tempting the hungry beast in his gut.
But Roy had no intention of eating it.
He picked up the phone on the nightstand, dialed Gotoh's number, and told him to bring back extra food.
Next, he activated Zetsu, silently approached the door using 'Shadow Step', and peered through the peephole. Seeing the hallway was completely empty, he cracked the door open for a bit of air.
Who would have thought...
"Wow~ It's a handsome young prodigy!"
An excited shriek came from above his head. Two golden pigtails swung down, and their owner violently threw the door open, pouncing on Roy.
In: An advanced application of Zetsu, allowing a user to make their Hatsu invisible to their opponent by rendering their aura semi-transparent.
Biscuit had been hanging from the ceiling, and she swung down gracefully. Her eyes were shining like lightbulbs, nearly blinding Roy.
Careless... Even with his recent gains, Roy couldn't withstand the powerful force of the girl's assault. His hands were pinned, and he was pressed to the floor beneath her.
"Ehehehe..." Biscuit stared at Roy with a silly grin, drool trickling from the corner of her mouth. Stripped bare held no appeal, yet fully clothed lacked mystery. This state—half-covered, half-revealed, a tease of what lay beneath—was the most alluring of all.
Such incredible strength! I can't move at all! Roy glared coldly at Biscuit. "Is this how the Shingen-Ryu school treats its guests?"
"Master, stop playing around." Wing walked in just then, giving Roy an apologetic smile as he pulled Biscuit off him.
He pushed up his glasses and extended his right hand to Roy. "It's been a long time, Roy. I apologize for the little joke. Please don't take it to heart."
"That wasn't a very funny joke." A figure appeared at the doorway, holding two large plastic bags. It was Gotoh, returning from his shopping trip.
His face darkened. He took out a newly purchased jacket and draped it over Roy, then stepped forward to stand in front of him.
He had been gone for less than half an hour, and the Young Master's clothes had been torn to pieces. This was the greatest failure of his duty as a personal butler.
Gotoh couldn't accept it. A milky-white Aura exploded from him, his fury staining it red as it surged toward Wing.
Such powerful Ren, Wing thought. His bangs were blown back, and he took a step backward, only to feel a small hand press against his back, steadying him.
Biscuit had dropped her infatuated act and now put on a pitiful expression. "Now, now... let's not fight," she pleaded. "I know the 'loyal butler protecting his young master' is a great dynamic, but he's just a little kid. Can't you forgive him for my sake?"
This old hag! Playing the cute girl again!
Roy placed a hand on Gotoh's shoulder, signaling him to stand down. He completely ignored Biscuit, took two steps forward, and looked at Wing with cold eyes. "You invited me, and I came."
"A joke is a joke, but you still owe me for the travel expenses. Every single Jenny."
"Of course." Wing smiled, and without wasting words, he pulled a bank card from his pocket and handed it over. "There are two million in there. The PIN is XXXXXXX."
Two million Jenny was enough for Roy and Gotoh to live lavishly at the Heavens Arena for a month. He had to admit, the offer was quite sincere.
Roy took the card, tossed it to Gotoh, and gave Wing one last deep look. "Show them out."
Gotoh's face was a cold mask. He extended a hand toward the door. "Please."
Wing gave Roy another apologetic smile before pushing Biscuit out of the room.
The door to Room 1991 slammed shut.
Master and student walked down the corridor, neither speaking for a time. Finally, the evening wind blew past, rustling Wing's bangs. The boy recalled his brief confrontation with Gotoh and couldn't help but sigh. "You were right, Master. There are no weaklings in the Zoldyck family."
"That butler... he gave off a very powerful feeling."
"I couldn't beat him."
An honest kid speaks honest words. Biscuit truly worried that one day Wing would be sold and wouldn't even know it. But that was the price for the Shingen-Ryu school's emphasis on character above all else when accepting students.
The veteran fighter, swinging her lively pigtails, said noncommittally, "Don't sell yourself short."
"Your Aura Output is indeed less than his, but in terms of Potential Aura, you are stronger."
Aura Output is the amount of aura a Nen user has already developed and can fully utilize. Potential Aura, as the name implies, is the total amount of aura a Nen user possesses, including both developed and undeveloped portions. The greater the Potential Aura, the higher a Nen user's ceiling, excluding special mechanics like Vows and Limitations.
"Then what about Roy?" Wing pushed up his glasses and shot Biscuit a look. "You were the one who insisted I trick him into coming here. Now you've seen him."
"I've seen him," Biscuit said, taking a deep breath. "He's a monster."
Wing: "?"
The girl frowned, clearly unwilling to say more.
Her instincts were telling her...
Just a moment ago...
Roy's Potential Aura had suddenly increased by a significant amount. This meant that he had condensed one, two, even three or four years of "growth" into a single instant. It was the equivalent of...
...him accomplishing several years of hard work in just one minute.
Calling him a monster is an understatement.
