Chapter 234 - Chapter 234: Finally Together

Lu Yanchen stroked my cheek with his fingers, a glimmer of pity in his eyes, his voice as gentle as water: "Wanwan, have you really thought it through?"

I clutched my chest. "If my heart were a cup, I don't know how full it is, but I know one thing for sure: there's water inside."

"In my previous life, I was blind and heartless, but since becoming a spirit and during this time, I've truly seen who truly cares for me. I know you really want to..."

At first, I didn't understand his heart clearly, which was why I felt so awkward. Once I was certain of his feelings and my dependence on and affection for him, I felt comfortable giving myself to this man.

Life is a book, a book to be turned page by page. I'm only twenty, and I have decades to read the next chapter with him.

Instead of wasting time on uncertainties and emotional entanglements, why not do something that will make us both happy? I nudged his ear affectionately. "Although I'm a little nervous, if it were you, I'd give it a try, okay?"

His voice churned. "...Okay, get dressed and come with me. I'll take you somewhere."

I blinked, confused. "Hmm? Where?"

"Our home. This place holds so many memories of you and Lu Shiyan. I don't want our first time to be at the Lu family's."

"Okay."

I finally understood why he always stopped at the last minute. This man is quite stubborn!

I wrapped myself in a thick down jacket and, in my high heels, pushed him away.

As I left, I saw Lu Shiyan standing at the stairs, his eyes filled with longing and reluctance to leave me.

Just like when I first met him at age eight, he stood there, sizing me up.

Back then, his eyes were filled with curiosity, welcoming me as I arrived. Unlike now, he could only watch me leave.

I had clearly moved into the Lu family, but the distance between us grew ever wider. Outside, the snow was blizzard-like, blinding the eyes.

But I felt no sadness at all; instead, a faint sense of anticipation permeated my heart.

Like a young girl who's just started dating, she looks forward to seeing the handsome boy from the next class every day.

In my throes of love, first love was like a kiss beneath a cherry blossom tree, hazy and restless, evoking longing and anticipation.

Things like that shouldn't be hastily begun and ended after drinking. Only a man who truly cares about you will cherish you.

I recognized this as the road to our wedding room.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I was clamoring for a wedding room to bring up the statue. "Is it that large flat we were looking at?"

"It's in a residential complex. My leg problem isn't known to anyone yet. If the large flat isn't private enough, I've bought a villa in the same complex. Would you mind?"

I shook my head. "No, anywhere is fine as long as I'm with you."

The car pulled into the villa. The yard was enormous. Besides the flowers and trees I liked, there was even a doghouse.

Colorful lights were hung everywhere.

Even the puppy's house had two small lanterns hanging outside.

This was completely our world. The man stood up from his wheelchair.

"I know you like animals. You can have a dog or a cat at home. Next spring, I'll take you to pick out a puppy."

"Okay."

I looked up at the huge cherry tree in the yard, covered in colorful lanterns.

I dreaded to imagine how beautiful this tree would be in spring.

And there was even a swing set beneath it. "You..."

"I saw you at school that year. You were standing under the cherry blossoms, your hair ruffling in the breeze. You looked so beautiful."

This man is truly...

I pushed open the door, and the room was already decorated. It was the exact same style as my last wedding room.

"Is this a coincidence?"

"It's not a coincidence. I know you decorated that wedding room yourself, and I guessed you'd like a warm and cozy style, so I chose a ready-made room in that style. Some of the furniture I chose that day is still being ordered and hasn't been shipped yet. I was planning to wait, but I didn't expect you to be so impatient."

"Ahem, I'm not impatient..." I said shyly.

"Meow..."

Xiaobai leaped into my arms. He was much fatter than when I saw him at Su's house. I was overjoyed.

"Xiaobai, when did you bring him back?"

"Yesterday. He recovered from his cold. The pet shop took good care of him."

I played with Xiaobai for a while. The room was warm, so I took off my coat and wandered around the living room. There's even a giant tree-like cat climbing frame in the living room, perfect for the kittens to run around freely.

This is literally my dream life.

Lu Yanchen returned to his room. To match his personality, he'd chosen a master bedroom on the first floor.

I was stunned when I opened the door.

The room was filled with roses, and the bed was covered in a vibrant red quilt. He'd dressed like he was on his wedding night.

The sound of running water echoed from the bathroom. When he emerged, he was dressed in a suit and tie, though his hair was a little damp. "I was planning to bring you here after I finished work in a few days." His ears flushed slightly. "Although I can't give you a wedding, I can give you an unforgettable wedding night."

He dressed neatly. "It's been ages since you've seen me stand up, right?"

Before he could finish, I rushed over and hugged him. "Lu Yanchen, you truly are the kindest person in the world!"

He chuckled. "You're the only one in the world who thinks I'm kind."

He lifted my head and gently wiped my tears. "Because we missed each other in our lifetime, I don't want to miss it again this time. You've suffered so much, so much pain, I just want to cherish you and love you more, to give you the best in the world." "For me, the best is already with me, A-Yan..."

He held my slender waist and deepened the kiss.

I don't know who started it first, but we rolled onto the bed so naturally.

His gentleness gradually soothed my nervousness.

"Brother A-Yan, we're finally together..."
