Chapter 174 - Chapter 174: Drag Him In, Judge!

Even the Su family didn't know about these things.

Mrs. Su, who had just defended Su Ning'an, fell silent. Su Ning'an wore the look of a victim, but a cold glint in his eyes shone with the desire to tear me apart.

The reason she always had everything going her way was simply because she had the initiative and the first mover advantage. I was always the one she tricked.

When the truth came to light, I was bewildered as she pinned the blame on me. I could only helplessly explain myself in front of everyone.

After my rebirth, I took control. I was in the dark, she was in the light. She had walked into my carefully laid trap, and now it was her turn to taste all the pain I had suffered in the past.

Lu Shiyan's tears fell into my eyes like crocodile tears. He was a soft-hearted man, easily provoked.

He seemed affectionate and loyal, but in reality he was cold and heartless, and he only cared about himself. He was an extremely selfish man. The fans in the audience, who had been furious about Su Ning'an, now quieted down, absorbed in my story.

I took a breath and continued, "Su Wan's death was already unclear. I never imagined someone could be so despicable as to appropriate all of her works, profit from them, and bask in the glory that should have been hers."

At this point, my gaze pierced Su Ning'an. "She's your sister. Doing such a thing doesn't pang your conscience?"

I knew Su Ning'an's ruthless heart. If she had a guilty conscience, she wouldn't have been so cruel to an elderly person.

I was just putting on a show, setting the stage for Su Wan's death.

The police are still investigating, and the cause of her death has not yet been announced.

If I have irrefutable evidence that Su Ning'an is my murderer, then the thread I've laid today will explode.

When those fooled fans learn of Su Ning'an's actions, how will they react? Public opinion will reach a fever pitch, and everyone across the country, even the world, will become my sharpest knives, judging this culprit for me!

Today, I will peel back the first layer of her skin.

Like a rotten apple, it appears bright red on the outside, but once you peel back that red skin, you'll see the flesh covered in mold.

Mrs. Su, like the fans in the audience, now looked at her with confusion. "An'an, is what she said true?"

After all, my story was so detailed it didn't seem made up. She wanted to believe Su Ning'an, and deep down, she was gradually leaning towards me.

She couldn't wait for Su Ning'an to give her an answer that would disprove everything. Su Ning'an clutched his chest, his face pale as he looked at Mrs. Su. "Mom, how could you trust an outsider and not your own daughter? Her words are full of lies, full of loopholes."

I raised my eyebrows and looked at Su Ning'an. "Oh? Where are the loopholes?"

"You said my sister had depression, but my family didn't know. How could you, far away from home, know? You even made up ridiculous rumors like I took her paintings. I still say, without evidence, you're slandering me!"

Mrs. Su's provocation didn't seem plausible. "Yes, if my daughter had depression, how could I not know? My family and I can prove she doesn't have it. Your words are untenable."

I had anticipated Su Ning'an's rebuttal. This was a deliberate signal I'd sent, luring them all into the trap I'd dug.

"Mrs. Su, you're so eager to shield your daughter. Do you think your words are credible?"

To prove I was lying, Mrs. Su immediately called Su's father and two brothers up to the stage. "I can also prove that my daughter behaved normally when she was alive and had no known mental illness."

"Yes, you woman are truly vicious. To attack my sister, you'd fabricate such a ridiculous lie."

"My sister is already buried, and you're still using her to exploit her. You're simply inhuman!"

"Go ahead! The higher you jump now, the more painful it will be when you fall."

Su Ning'an's expression wasn't one of triumph at being defended, but rather of confusion.

She'd clearly realized something was amiss and began to speculate about my next move on the chessboard.

But it was too late.

I'd finally gotten you into this game; how could I let you escape unscathed?

I turned to Lu Shiyan, our eyes meeting. "Mr. Lu, I heard you and Su Wan were childhood sweethearts. You've been together for years, so you should know her best. Your words are the most credible. Why don't you tell us what Su Wan's mental state was like before she died?"

The fans around him also looked at him. "Mr. Lu, please tell us clearly. Did Su Wan suffer from depression?"

"Yes, what he said is a bit ridiculous, but S's works are so dark, it's impossible to say the author isn't heartbroken. What is the truth?"

"I don't care about anything else. I just want to know who the real person I've been a fan of for so many years is!"

"Mr. Lu, please tell me!"

Lu Shiyan had been dragged into this mess by me. How could I let you, the instigator, just sit back and watch?

He was in a difficult position at the moment. He couldn't really tell whether Su Wan was depressed or not. I was certainly not mentally well around the time I lost my child.

But if he told the truth, wouldn't that indirectly confirm what I just said? Su Wan lives in a world where her loved ones don't love her, and her loved ones don't love her.

Now that the situation has escalated to this point, he's bound to be affected.

Whether he answers or not, Lu Shiyan is doomed to be trapped in this situation.

His hesitation wasn't about seeking justice for Su Wan, but about how to answer and extricate himself.

His tears just now seemed even more ridiculous to me.

"Mr. Lu, are you taking so long to ponder this question? Don't you even know your girlfriend's health?"

Lu Shiyan knew I was deliberately provoking him, but he couldn't help it.

He'd been forced to this point, and even though he knew there was a big pit ahead, he had no choice but to jump in.

"My ex-wife did have a period of low mood, but that's normal. Everyone has some setbacks in life, perhaps a failed project or some trouble in life. Who can be cheerful every day? In my opinion, her low mood didn't even qualify as depression."

His answer was clever, avoiding the issue of depression while also addressing Su Wan's own low mood. No matter what I do next, he'll get away with it! The Su family agreed with his words. "Yes, can everyone here be guaranteed to be happy all day? Without even a moment of lows or sadness?"

"Ms. Jiang, you're so aggressive and deliberately sowing discord among our family. Even if you won the gold medal today, your character is nowhere near as good as my daughter's. It's truly shameful!"

The fans below also began to criticize and take sides.

I remained calm. I glanced at Shen Ji in the audience. He took my cue and took some things up on stage.

The verbal abuse rained down on me like a hail of arrows, but I stood straight, my gaze blazing.

"I feel so sorry for Su Wan. I never thought she suffered from depression, and you, her family members, her so-called lovers, didn't even know!"

I picked up the stack of papers and hurled them at the Su family members. "Then open your eyes and take a good look at what your daughter has been living all these years! Read to me what the diagnosis report says!"
