"No! Let go of Grandma! Su Ning'an!"
I roared like a madwoman.
The cold wind outside howled, rushing into the room. The red candles on the altar were directly extinguished by the gust.
Su Ning'an's shoe pressed down on Grandma's hand, and I even saw her grinding her foot.
She picked up the phone, a smile curling her lips. "What? Want to call for help? Do you think, after telling you the truth, I would give you the chance to tell others?"
Grandma's eyes were completely bloodshot. She struggled to get up.
But her body was already unwell, and now with one hand pinned under Su Ning'an's foot, her efforts were futile.
"Su Ning'an, why! Why are you so cruel? What did Wanwan ever do to wrong you?" Grandma's voice was hoarse.
"Ask her that yourself when you go to hell."
Su Ning'an, still stepping on Grandma's fingers, slowly crouched down. Although not heavy, she still had the weight of an adult, causing Grandma immense pain. A grimace of agony flashed across her face.
Su Ning'an acted as if she didn't notice, her face cold. "Old woman, do you want to guess where her ashes are?"
Grandma's face grew paler. "You... what have you done?"
As she spoke, her lips trembled.
Su Ning'an gave a light laugh. "Naturally, I kept her ashes close to her family. Like the prayer beads on Lu Shiyan's hand. It's ironic, him always saying he wants to find Su Wan, when I'd already returned Su Wan to him long ago. Oh, and Mom and Dad..."
Su Ning'an's gaze fell on the porcelain plate on the table, which held offerings.
She casually dumped the offerings onto the table, her fingers stroking the plate. "Did you like this plate very much? It contains your dear granddaughter's ashes."
"You... what did you say?" This news was a bolt from the blue for Grandma.
Grandma retched. She had been using this set of tableware for her meals recently.
But who could have told her that it contained her granddaughter's ashes?!
Perhaps because she hadn't eaten anything today, Grandma vomited nothing.
She trembled as she tried to get up from the floor, but Su Ning'an threw the plate onto the ground right in front of her.
Crash!
The plate shattered into pieces.
Grandma forgot about seeking revenge. Instinctively, she reached out to pick up the broken pieces, muttering, "Wan'er, my Wan'er..."
If I could cry, my tears would have long dried up.
I didn't understand. Why did Su Ning'an have to go this far?
It seemed the more miserable Grandma was, the happier Su Ning'an became. "Old woman, Su Wan's fate is no one else's fault. Blame her for trying to steal my man. Blame her for being your granddaughter. She deserved it!"
A cold glint flashed in Grandma's eyes as she suddenly swiped at Su Ning'an's neck.
So, she had been waiting for an opportunity all along.
But Grandma was old, her movements slow. Su Ning'an dodged again.
She kicked Grandma. "You old hag, still trying to kill me? You're dreaming."
Grandma fell heavily to the ground once more, but this time, she didn't get up again.
I panicked, kneeling beside Grandma, calling out to her incessantly. "Grandma, please don't scare me. You have to be okay! Get up."
Just as Su Ning'an was about to do something more, a scream sounded from the doorway: "Ah!"
I turned around to see my mother standing at the entrance, her face a mask of shock. "Heavens, what happened here?"
