Sea calander - 1520
North Blue.
The Revenant cut through the waves like a shadow of black steel, sails taut and snapping in the briny North Blue wind.
The crew moved with a mix of practiced precision and chaotic energy, atop the main deck, Ash leaned against the mast, eyes fixed on the horizon.
The crew's chatter fell away as a dark, jagged silhouette began to emerge in the distance, outlined against the morning sun.
"Is that… an island?" nami, squinted with her telescope. Her small hands trembled slightly with excitement.
"Yes… it's the last island before one enters the grandline from northblue,Swallow island."
Medusa squinted watching the silhouette of island grew bigger-
"quite intresting shape ... I'd say."
"Right ? I was totally getting bored !" Reina also chimmed in while grinning like an idiot.
Zoro who was now wrapped in bandages was standing at railing of ship watching the island with calm eyes.
"I can finally move around a bit...." He spoke ,while watching, as the island slowly came into view.
The island's outline resembled a swallow in flight, wings arched gracefully over the sea.
The main body of the island was a hilly expanse, its cliffs jagged but beautiful, streaked with white limestone that caught the sunlight like veins of marble.
From this high vantage, the crew could see several plateaus, lush with dense forests, their dark green canopies rustling in the wind.
"Looks… inviting?" Medusa said after observing.
Reina said cracking her knuckles, grinning.
"Inviting? Maybe for lunch."
---
As the Revenant drew closer, more details became visible:
To the north, sheer cliffs dropped into frothy waves, forming natural harbors where fishing boats bobbed gently.
A single lighthouse perched atop the highest cliff, its white tower leaning slightly, weathered by decades of storms.
The central plateau was dotted with clusters of small villages, smoke rising from chimneys and farmland stretching into the surrounding hills.
Golden fields shimmered under the sun, interrupted by winding rivers that sparkled like molten silver.
Eastern forests sprawled across gentle hills, dark and dense, broken occasionally by meadows of wildflowers swaying in the wind.
Birds circled overhead, their calls sharp and melodic.
To the west, jagged rock formations jutted out into the sea, creating small, hidden coves perfect for mooring—or ambushing unwary visitors.
Waves slammed against these rocks, sending sprays high into the sky.
A central mountain, modest but commanding, rose above everything else, crowned by what appeared to be a small, crumbling temple or shrine.
The structure's purpose was unclear, but it gave the island an air of mystery, as if secrets had been kept here for centuries.
The sun glinted off a meandering waterfall that tumbled from the central hills into a turquoise lagoon at the southern tip, its waters so clear that the reef beneath shimmered like stained glass.
The lagoon's crescent-shaped beach was pristine, white sand stretched like a ribbon along the coast.
Ash grinned as he observed everything -
"Well, I never knew north blue was this inviting ?"
He turned around and said to nami while pointing towards a quiet corner opposite from the main beach.
"We will dock the ship behind those jagged rocks, easy to escape and good for hiding."
Nami nodded and turned the helm of ship to dock their ship.
The Revenant groaned against the beach as its black hull scraped lightly in the shallow waters of shore.
Seagulls screeched, fluttering in panic, as if they had been expecting exactly this kind of disaster.
Ash leapt from the deck, landing with a flourish.
His black hair was wild from the wind, jaw set in a grin.
"North Blue, meet the Revenant! And meet me—your soon-to-be favorite ....uh.....reaper ?"
Reina followed grinning and matching her captain's chaotic energy.
"I smell adventure… and maybe some breakfast. Or chaos. Definitely chaos."
"Both of you are literally disasters for anyone with few brain cells you know ?"Medusa spoke as he walked down from the wooden stair-plank of Revenant.
Nami clutched the ship's map."Please don't set fire to anything. I just recalculated the money we have. And someone—someone please tell these idiots that we are poor ! Very poor at that !"
"It's fine - we'll manage ....somehow ." Zoro spoke as he wore his haori loosely over his bandages.
---
From nearby, a stout fisherman waddled forward, arms crossed over his barrel chest, straw hat slightly askew.
His white beard was a tangled mess, and his clothes smelled of salt and smoke.
He was walking past them without a care in the world, but when his gaze landed on Ash- his face lost all colours as he started sweating heavily while shaking.
"You… you're the pirates from east blue.....
....T-The Dreadruin Pirates !?"
he stammered.
"A-and ...y-you are the pirate captain A-ASHBORN with a bounty of 50 Million Berries ! "
Ash bowed dramatically while grinning.
"The one and only! And don't forget—spicy, scary, and slightly handsome."
The fisherman blinked. "I… I've heard tales. You're famous in the East Blue… and terrifying."
Reina flexed an imaginary bicep of hers while grinning.
"Terrifying? That's our middle name."
Medusa twirled her chains, which she took out for better effect. "Technically, terrifying is my middle name. Chaos is Ash's."
The fisherman's eyes widened. "Well… um… welcome to Swallow Island. You'll find it… peaceful. Mostly."
"Mostly?" Ash raised an eyebrow. "Mostly peaceful? That's a challenge. I love challenges."
---
The island itself was alive with quiet activity. Farmers tended golden fields, children chased chickens across the docks, and fishing boats bobbed lazily in the clear blue harbor.
Smoke rose from clay chimneys, carrying the scent of baked bread and roasted fish.
"Look at that harbor," Nami muttered. "It's… serene. No dangerous currents. No pirates. This could be—"
"Boring!" zoro interrupted.
A young girl with bright orange hair and freckles peeked from behind a crate of fish the fisherman was carrying with him on his small ship.
"Are you pirates?"
she asked, her wide eyes flicking between cold and etheral beauty of Medusa, and Ash's grinning face.
"Yes," Ash said, spreading his arms. "But we're mostly friendly. Sometimes. Maybe."
"Mostly?" The girl repeated, skeptical.
"Mostly chaotic," Reina added, shooting a pancake into the air. The crate she aimed at toppled harmlessly, sending fish flopping across the beach.
"Oops ! Sorry about the fish ." She said smiling ,but a drop of sweat was trickling down her face,as she didn't meant to destroy their hunt. Fortunately the fishes were already dead.
The girl's mouth dropped open. "You're… insane."
"Insane is our business," zoro said, picking up a fish and pretending to duel it with his sword. "And business is booming."
---
As they moved towards the town moving on the beach towards the main docks ,they saw several people going about their daily buisness, the docks were filled with life as sailors prepared for travels , merchants loading and unloading their goods.
From the shadows of the dock, a slender man with slick black hair, a green vest, and a net full of glowing fish emerged. His single golden earring glinted in the sun as he raised a hand.
"You're Ashborn… aren't you?"
He said grinning.
"I'm Korven. Swallow Island's… unofficial supplier of rumors, fish, and sometimes brawls. And I ,Welcome.....Grim reaper of east blue … I think?"
Ash grinned. "Korven, huh? Sounds like North Blue has quite the stories for us. But don't worry—we're polite… sometimes."
He paused and continued.
"You said you provide information too right ?"
Kroven nodded ."I do ...sir ."
Ash smiled ."we might do some good buisness then."
"And what might that be?" Korven asked, suspicious.
Ash grinned."only time will tell, don't you think so too ?"
A stray dog barked, children screamed, and a few villagers fainted at the combined chaos of sparks, fish, and the sudden arrival of the notorious crew.
Ash threw his arms wide.As if presenting something grand.
"Swallow Island… meet the .....what do they call us again ?...ah ,right..... Dreadruin pirates!"
And just like that, North Blue felt the first tremors of chaos, as Ash and his crew set foot on its shores.
The sun glinted off the lagoon, the cliffs rose like silent sentinels, and the forests whispered secrets—secrets that now had a very noisy new audience.
