Chapter 4 - Chapter 1 Episode 1: The Binding Contract III

A brunette woman wearing glasses and business attire approached a large door.

Knock Knock

"Come in."

The woman opened the door to a very extravagant office on what seemed to be on the top floor of a tower.

"I'm back!", the woman exclaimed gleefully entering the room.

On the other side of the room, a man of opposing stature stood in front of a sizable bar full of different expensive looking drinks and glasses. He had jet black hair in a long ponytail. His eyes were a deep, dark red and he wore a black jacket, exposing his chest. His most prominent feature though was his neck tattoo of a spider. The man picked up a glass of wine and drank from it.

"You were out for quite a while.", the man stated between sips of his wine.

"Tonight was pretty eventful!", the woman giggled.

"Well first, drop the disguise, Amelia."

"Awww, but I lovee being a damsel in distress! Fineee."

The woman named Amelia took off her glasses and her appearance shifted significantly. Long, dark red hair replaced her brunette tie-up and her skin shifted to a lighter, pale color. Her eyes turned red and a tattoo formed around her neck. The same spider tattoo as the man's. Her business outfit was replaced by a tight, black leather suit.

"You won't believe what happened! I was hit on by some thugs but then, a wonderful hero came and saved me! He was so coo-"

Suddenly, the doors slammed open and in came rushing in was none other than Thug 1.

"B-Boss Oran! Huge emergency!", he shouted, panting excessively.

"How dare you interrupt me while I'm speaking!"

"Amelia. Let him. Now speak.", the man named Oran walked over to his desk and sat on the edge of it.

"W-Well, I found Lia! But somethin' crazy happened! So while I was out, obviously keeping watch for her, this chump started messin with me n' the boys and then tried runnin away! So we chased him and cornered him but the bastard wouldn't go down! Suddenly, demonic energy suddenly appeared on his hand. It was fire… but it was blue!"

"Blue fire? Ok… go on."

"Then all of a sudden, that Lia Azaroth showed up! We barely managed to get away but I was curious what she was doin' there, so I went back to check and what I saw was crazy! There was this big, red circle! The whole area was glowing red and she was doin' something with that bastard!"

"Red circle…? Don't tell me… Has she gotten desperate? To involve randoms into our business?"

"Boss, do you know what it was??"

"Most likely a contract initiation. That's the only possible idea of what that could be. What type of contract though, I have no clue."

"A contract?? But why with that chump?!"

Over to the side, Amelia clicked her teeth angrily. "You watch your mouth…"

"Eh? Is somethin' wrong, Lady Amelia?"

"Yes… Something is very wrong. You keep referring to my saviour with such foul remarks…"

"S-Saviour? W-What do ya mean…?"

"Ah, this is the perfect time to say this after you so rudely interrupted me. Earlier today, I was cornered by 3 dirty thugs. I was so scared! But then, my wonderful knight distracted them so I could get away."

"W-What?!", Thug 1 shouted in shock. "W-When was this?! Had I known some bastards were messin' with ya', I would've pounded their faces in!"

"Hmmm, about an hour ago."

"W-Wait, earlier when you said… then does that mean… it was that guy who… but an hour ago… it couldn't…"

"Why yes! You were the creeps my saviour saved me from!", Amelia said while letting out a big grin.

Thug 1's voice caught in his throat.

"B-B-B-But tha-"

Oran let out a loud sigh.

"Let me get this right. Instead of sticking to the task I assigned you and keeping watch for Azaroth, you were out hitting on women…?"

"W-Well yes but I was still focused on the job! I-I even found her like you wanted."

Oran stood up from his desk, approached Thug 1, and put his hand on his shoulder.

"I don't need people who are useless to me. You showed that I can't trust you to do what I ask of you."

"B-Boss…?"

"A shame, really. I hate discarding things."

"GRGH!"

Suddenly, a long blade pierced the back of Thug 1 and came out through his chest. The blade, a black and red katana, appeared out of nowhere with no one touching it. Thug 1's body fell to the ground and a pool of blood covered where he dropped.

"Clean this up, Amelia. It's staining my floor."

"So cruel! To make me clean up your mess!"

Oran walked back to his desk and once again, sighed heavily.

"(That damn Azaroth continues to hinder me towards my goal. She must have something up her sleeve to pull something like this. Involving some mystery guy with blue fire demonic energy… He could potentially be a problem. If it comes to it, I'll have to take them out. I can't let anything stand in my way.)"

~The Next Morning~

"(Huh…?)"

"(Where am I…? It's so bright…)"

Lucen found himself in a seemingly white room. There wasn't a single space that wasn't as bright as a lamp.

"(Is this Heaven…? No, I don't see any stairs. Then where is this- huh?)"

In the distance, Lucen saw a figure of a person sitting on the floor.

"Is that a person…? Hey!"

Lucen called out to the figure but they didn't respond.

"Hey! You!"

Lucen began jogging towards them but as he got closer, he noticed the room getting darker.

"(What the…)"

Lucen continued moving closer as the room began to fill with black. There was still just enough light to see the figure.

"Hey! Can you hear me?!"

Lucen was finally close enough to see the figure a bit more clearly.

"(A girl…?)"

Lucen's voice seemed to finally reach the girl's ears as she finally looked up. As she noticed Lucen running in her direction, she got up and tried to run towards him. Then the room became surrounded in darkness as Lucen barely caught a glimpse of her.

"AH!"

Lucen suddenly woke up. He found himself on a large bed in a very large room. Larger than any bedroom he's ever been in during his lifetime.

"(Was that a dream? I was barely able to see that girl. She looked like some kind of ghost-)"

"Good morning."

Right in front of Lucen, on the bed with him –-or more so, on top of him , he lay face-to-face with a woman who was a near spitting image of the woman he met earlier, Lia. She had long, straight, white hair that reached her shoulder blades. Two long streaks of black hair ran down her bangs on each side. Her skin was also incredibly pale and she too wore jet-black lipstick. Her eye, however, was different from Lia's. Instead of a red iris, hers was violet with a crystalline pattern. She also had a marking on her left eye but hers were five thin, straight, vertical lines that ran through her eyes horizontally.

(Oh my God… She's… No no, Lucen. You have to stay calm. Focus. Stay focused.)

"This is… a way to wake up."

"Is it?"

She didn't seem to be phased by the situation at all, maintaining eye contact with Lucen the entire time.

"So… as much as I don't mind staying like this, maybe we should get up. I'd like to know where I am as this bed is way too big for my broke self to afford."

She stared at Lucen for 5 more seconds before eventually getting up.

"So, who are you?"

"Ah, apologies, I did not introduce myself, did I? My name is Vonica Azaroth."

"So that other lady, Lia, you're related to her, aren't you?"

"Yes, she is my elder sister."

"I see. Duly noted. So where am I? I feel real comfortable in here."

"This is a guest room in our Estate."

"Mhm mhm, siblings and rich. Again, duly noted."

"(Wait, have I been kidnapped?! They kidnapped me! I've been kidnapped by hot women! Hot and RICH women! I can't believe it! I never thought it'd happen in my lifetime!)"

"So… what were you doing?"

"I was examining you."

"Why…?"

"Because you are quite the interesting creature. You are special, Lucen."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Because such a specimen as you is now apart of the Azaroth Family."

"What…? Listen, you're my type and all but I don't remember agreeing to be a part of your family."

"Well, when you entered the contract with Lia, you were immediately bound to her through, thus, becoming a member of our Family."

"Contract…?"

"Ohhh."

"Ohh."

"Oh."

"That… That wasn't a love confession, was it…"

"Welcome to the Azaroth Family, Lucen. There is not many of us but I am sure you will be a wonderful addition to our Family."

Vonica smiled as the reality finally set in for Lucen that he got himself into something potentially bizarre.

A brunette woman wearing glasses and business attire approached a large door.
