My hands were shaking so badly I was half-convinced the system would flag me for "involuntary vibration abuse." Mana burned through my palms, crawled up my arms, sank into my spine. Every breath felt like dragging air through broken glass.

Everyone was still standing.

"Eunji," Zeref shouted without even turning his head, fire erupting from his staff as Kael blinked in and out of range, "don't mind us. Just focus on the orb."
Easy for him to say.
An assassin versus a mage was already unfair. An assassin who knew him? That was just bullying.
Kael's daggers carved through the air, slipping past fire walls like they weren't even there. Zeref countered with explosions so close they singed Kael's cloak, but neither of them landed a decisive hit.
Keiji reinforced the ice wall around me again, sweat running down his jaw.
