Chapter 58: The Terrifying Bloodline Talent of Triple Mastery in Pills, Tools, and Arrays!

"You want to let Xiao Lan use a precious flying Dou Technique? But… can human Dou Techniques even be used by magical beasts?" Xiao Yi Xian looked at Jiang Lin in disbelief. She wanted to argue, but she knew Jiang Lin wasn't someone who spoke without reason.

"See that, Eagle-bro? Only by sticking with me can you eat well and live well. Look at your sworn boss—won't even let you use a flying Dou Technique." Armored Jiang Lin had already started sowing discord between the blue eagle and Xiao Yi Xian.

"You!!" Xiao Yi Xian was fuming. Why did this bastard always have such ridiculous ways of derailing her words?!

"Alright, alright. No more teasing. Boss Xian'er, go pack up the spirit herbs—we're getting ready to leave." Jiang Lin smiled, then checked the other antique-looking storage ring in his hand. His spiritual sense easily broke into it since there were no seals. Inside, he found the senior's original drafts for creating Purple Cloud Wings, but nothing else.

Still, to Jiang Lin, these things—which might be useless to other Dou Qi cultivators—were priceless treasures. Plus, he gained an extra storage ring. After roughly sensing its capacity, he estimated it held about ten cubic meters—ten times larger than the one he currently wore.

Without hesitation, Jiang Lin transferred everything from his own ring into the skeleton's, then handed the small ring to Xiao Yi Xian.

"Here, Boss Xian'er, use this for now. Don't worry about me—I've got a better one!"

Xiao Yi Xian was originally touched, but when she heard that, her expression went blank. What kind of "good brother" gives a gift like that? Even if it's true, couldn't he at least pretend a little?

But since Jiang Lin insisted, she accepted the smaller ring. It would be useful for storing herbs and medical tools—like acupuncture needles for poking Jiang Lin… too bad he seemed traumatized by something, and now his armor was completely sealed.

Eventually, Jiang Lin snagged an Ice Spirit Flame Grass from Blue Eagle—a tier-five main herb used in fifth-grade pills. Jiang Lin wasn't an alchemist, but he had inheritance knowledge and a sharp eye. The thought of letting Blue Eagle waste such a rare herb kept him up at night. He'd probably wake up in cold sweats and slap himself if he let that happen.

The three items from the boxes—Purple Cloud Wings, Seven-Colored Poison Scripture, and Roaring Lion's Cry—were split one per person: Blue Eagle, Xiao Yi Xian, and Jiang Lin. Okay, fine… Blue Eagle wasn't a person.

Inside the cave, Jiang Lin picked up the spear technique Roaring Lion's Cry, which he had previously tossed aside. He sighed. "So… this is my fate, huh? Mastering all weapons?"

Shaking his head, he and Xiao Yi Xian carefully collected the skeletal remains of the senior, wrapped them in cloth, and buried them in the flower bed where the spirit herbs grew. Blue Eagle, surprisingly understanding, helped with the burial—earning a bit more respect from Jiang Lin.

At the end, in front of the small grave mound, Jiang Lin drew his black blade from his back, infused it with Dou Qi, carved a nearby stone slab, and inscribed six words: Grave of Senior Whitebone. Then the two of them—and one eagle—bowed again to the mound before leaving.

Jiang Lin stored his Black Cavalry Armor back into the Whitebone Ring, then flew with Blue Eagle to where they had previously slain the Scarlet Flame Azure Hawk. Fortunately, they returned quickly enough that the corpse hadn't been scavenged.

Jumping down from Blue Eagle, Jiang Lin stood beside the stiffened hawk corpse. "Eagle-bro, take Xiao Yi Xian home first, then come back for me. We'll move the beast corpse to a safe place."

"Okay. Xiao Linzi, take care of yourself!" Xiao Yi Xian reminded him. Blue Eagle took off with her and soon disappeared into the vast night sky.

After they left, Jiang Lin donned his armor again and sat atop the hawk's body. Moonlight reflected off his cold black armor like a silver frost.

He gazed quietly at the clouds drifting between distant mountains, then took a bone from the Whitebone Ring and tapped it gently.

A rolled-up piece of mysterious beast-skin fell into his palm.

A fragment of the Nirvana Lotus Demon Flame map. Jiang Lin didn't recognize it, but instinctively knew it was something precious. When he examined it with his soul sense, it felt like his very soul was being scorched.

"Maybe for others, this map fragment is the most valuable thing here…" he murmured. Upon closer inspection, the material of the map fragment was incredibly rare. The tiny piece radiated a terrifying aura—it burned the soul just by holding it.

"But I'm content. For me, the most important thing is still Senior Whitebone's Purple Cloud Wings notes." Jiang Lin carefully stored the map fragment back in the Whitebone Ring and pulled out the remaining documents inside. These simple records detailed the experiments conducted after capturing the Blackflame Purple Cloud Eagle. Though brief and few in number, Jiang Lin read them over and over with rapt attention.

The Purple Cloud Wings wasn't about growing wings. It was about extracting and transforming the Dou Qi energy model from the eagle's wings and grafting it onto the human body as an external energy pattern. What a pity he could never meet that senior… though, forming a spiritual bond through his research was a blessing in itself.

"In fact, the sealed remnant soul in the manual isn't just the eagle's consciousness—it's an active Dou Qi energy model! I'd bet anything that one of Senior's old companions was a blacksmith!"

This world was always strange. Just when it seemed blacksmiths had no presence, you'd look back and realize they had been quietly influencing everything. Even if their potential seemed capped, they continued to refine their art in silence.

SKREEEE!

Jiang Lin was pulled from his thoughts by Blue Eagle's haughty cry. Now that the Scarlet Flame Azure Hawk had fallen, this territory naturally belonged to it.

Jiang Lin removed his armor, raised his Black Feather Bow, and leapt five or six meters onto Blue Eagle's back. With its talons gripping the hawk's corpse, they soared toward a location Jiang Lin had pointed out.

Soon, they arrived over a dense forest ringed by mountains. Jiang Lin silently looked down at the canopy below.

This was his first time seeing Forging Valley from the air—and the first time he truly began thinking about his bloodline.

The seemingly ordinary forest below concealed something—

Forging Valley was protected by a stealthy and fully functioning illusion array!

He remembered: his mother was a skilled alchemist. At the very least, the foundational knowledge she had passed on included countless first- through sixth-grade medicinal ingredients. That's how Jiang Lin could easily identify the Ice Spirit Flame Grass, and understand that pills above grade seven could develop partial sentience.

Now he realized—his Fiery Forge Art and his innate abilities aligned perfectly with the blacksmith's path.

In that moment, it became clear: his mother likely had deep knowledge in array formations as well.

The Dou Qi Continent claimed arrays didn't exist. But they did—hidden, obscure, just like the unassuming blacksmith among Senior Whitebone's friends. Arrays too were overlooked and underappreciated in this world.

Suddenly, a quote echoed in Jiang Lin's mind—words once said by a craftsman known as "Master Danqi":

"A cook who can't refine pills is not a good blacksmith!"

To someone like Xiao Yan, the Whitebone Ring's ten cubic meters of storage space would be meaningless. With Yao Lao's ring, which no one could take from him and which had far more space, he wouldn't wear two rings just to show off. So the Whitebone Ring was redundant for him.

But for the skeleton—it was essential. Otherwise, how could he have hauled in all those gold coins by hand?
