Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Asgard Mountains

The three Crimson Feathered Demon Wolves flapped their wings, carrying the trio suspended a hundred meters in the air.

"Is this the legendary Magic Beast Mountains? It looks truly terrifying." Marcus gazed downwards, a hint of awe in his voice.

Cana also had a serious expression. "This environment is primitive, and the magic power in the air is exceptionally abundant. It's easier for powerful Magic Beasts to appear here than in other places."

Ezreal said, "Don't worry, I have a plan."

Marcus and Cana looked at the confident expression on Ezreal's face, slightly surprised.

Ezreal didn't say much, controlling the Crimson Feathered Demon Wolf to land on the riverbank at the edge of the Magic Beast Mountains. Deep wolf paw prints were left in the soft river sand, and the sound of the rushing river filled their ears.

Just as Marcus and Cana were about to dismount from the Crimson Feathered Demon Wolf's back, Ezreal called out to them.

"Are you going to walk into such a vast mountain range on foot? Can your two legs run as fast as a four-legged wolf? Of course, we're riding the Crimson Feathered Demon Wolf!" Ezreal looked at the two with exasperation.

Marcus gave an awkward laugh. "Ah, sorry, we used to take magic-powered trains to mission locations and get off as soon as we arrived. It's a habit."

Cana also looked a bit embarrassed, and she smoothed her hair as she asked, "Tell us, how do we find the Titan Boa?"

Ezreal calmly waved his hand. "No rush, let me form a team first!"

"Form a team?" Cana and Marcus exchanged bewildered glances.

"Of course, just the few of us don't have enough deterrent power," Ezreal nodded, then snapped his fingers. The air around him subtly twisted, and five man-high white energy vortexes appeared, slowly rotating clockwise.

Two Marsh Frogs leisurely emerged from the white vortexes and instinctively leaped into the swift river, submerging themselves.

Immediately following, three more Crimson Feathered Demon Wolves, exuding fierce malice, gently flapped their wings and landed beside the trio, forming a V-shape to guard the Crimson Feathered Demon Wolf they were riding.

Finally, two massive Red and Blue Stone Warriors emerged.

As soon as the Red and Blue Stone Warriors appeared, their bodies immediately trembled, and then each split into nine clones, forming a square formation. Five Stone Men were positioned in each of the four directions—front, back, left, and right—firmly protecting Ezreal and his two companions.

Cana looked at the Summoned Beast pack surrounding them, utterly astonished. "This…"

Marcus's eyes widened even further. "C-Rank, C-Rank, C-Rank, they're all C-Rank Magic Beasts! EZ…"

Ezreal looked at the circle of Summoned Beasts around him with satisfaction. "The Red and Blue Warriors have very high defense and will be in the outermost circle to deal with emergencies."

"The Crimson Feathered Demon Wolves will be in the inner circle for support. In case of danger, they'll launch a wave of fireballs first. Even if the formation is broken, they can quickly readjust."

"The Marsh Frogs are lurking underwater, to deal with any aquatic Magic Beasts that might appear. In dangerous situations, they can also launch sneak attacks. A single venomous projectile can take down even a B-Rank Magic Beast!"

"With 26 Summoned Beasts openly visible, most Magic Beasts will steer clear as soon as they see us, which will save a lot of trouble."

"Plus, the three of us are Mages—one A-Rank, two B-Rank. Even if we encounter an S-Rank Magic Beast, it's not impossible to put up a fight."

Ezreal looked at Marcus and Cana: "Alright, partners, our adventure begins!"

"You're really over the top," Cana said, looking at the large group of Summoned Beasts around her, feeling that this trip to the Asgard Mountains shouldn't be too difficult.

Marcus excitedly clenched his fists: "Let's go all out! I'm fired up!"

Ezreal was speechless. "Please don't steal Natsu's lines!"

"Aye!" Marcus vigorously waved his arm.

Ezreal covered his forehead. "And definitely don't imitate Happy!"

"Stop messing around. Tell us how to find the Titan Boa and the Alfred Family's old dwelling place you want to visit," Cana interrupted their joking and asked.

"Easy!" Ezreal waved his hand, dispersing four of the white vortexes, leaving only the one in front of him. Then he reached inside and pulled out a large bag of apple-sized spherical drones.

Hextech Trackers!

"With these!" Ezreal lightly tossed the bag, and 22 Hextech Trackers were launched into the air. The flight wings on top of the spherical drones immediately began to spin, and the trackers scattered in all directions.

"I can see the trackers' feeds through consciousness attachment. Titan Boas are amphibious Magic Beasts, so searching along this river should make them relatively easy to find. However, the Asgard Mountains are vast; books say they are about 8100 kilometers long. If we want to find the Alfred Family's ruins, it will take a lot of time."

After Ezreal finished speaking, he closed his eyes, his consciousness attached to the 22 trackers that had just flown off. "My multitasking isn't perfected yet; currently, I can only control a maximum of 22 trackers simultaneously. With consciousness attachment, my body will be in a semi-comatose state, so I'm entrusting my safety to you two."

Seeing this, Cana and Marcus's expressions became serious. Cana softly said, "Hey, Green-haired Kid, we need to be serious now."

Cana gripped the Crimson Feathered Demon Wolf's fur with one hand to steady herself, and with a flick of her right hand, three cards of different colors were held between her fingers.

Marcus nodded. He raised his finger, and yellow sand materialized at his fingertip. Several snakes formed from sand coiled around his arm.

Ezreal's consciousness was dispersed and attached to the 22 trackers, exploring the surrounding environment.

Their current location was at the entrance of the Asgard Mountains. Logically, searching for Titan Boas, which inhabit rivers or swamps, shouldn't require such an early carpet search.

However, Ezreal's visit to these mountains had more than just the two stated objectives.

The trip to the Asgard Mountains had finding the Alfred Family's ruins as the top priority. Next was exploring the Magic Beasts in these mountains, and finally, searching for the Titan Boa.

The Summoned Beasts he currently possessed were, for Ezreal, still far from strong enough.

For now, they were barely sufficient.

But he had to strengthen all his Summoned Beasts in time before the Fairy Tail main storyline began to cope with future threats.

If he could find the dragon scale magic-sealing stone left by the Alfred Family in these mountains, the Red and Blue Warriors' strength would greatly increase.

Next, he would explore other Magic Beasts in these mountains, looking for powerful ones or those with unique abilities. After defeating them, he would fuse and strengthen other Summoned Beasts.

Shadow Wolves, Crimson Raptors, Marsh Frogs, and even Blue Sentinels and Bramblebacks—the opportunities to enhance these wild monsters' strength were all in this place known as the Magic Beast Mountains.

Wielding Life Alchemy, as long as he proceeded steadily, Ezreal believed that the Asgard Mountains would become the starting point for his transformation into a powerhouse.

This was also why Ezreal said he had an unavoidable reason for this trip to the Asgard Mountains.
