Chapter 301: Kill! Harvest!
A terrifying aura spread throughout the heavens and earth.
The expression of the Heavenly Dragon Saint appeared somewhat sinister and venomous, no longer maintaining the regal demeanor he had before. His eyes, bloodshot, were fixed on the young man in the distance who was holding a seven-colored fire lotus with one hand. He couldn't believe that such a secret technique existed in the world, one that could allow a high-level Half-Saint to span three levels and step into a two-star Dou Saint.
"I don't believe it!" he once again muttered in a low voice, seemingly trying to convince himself.
As his words fell, the Nine-Dragon Pearl in front of him seemed to have reached its limit. A golden ball of light instantly shot out from it, heading toward the position where Yao Yan was, tearing apart the space along its path, leaving a dark rift in the space, as it obliterated everything in its wake.
Compared to the Heavenly Dragon Saint, Yao Yan's expression was much calmer. He gently opened his palm and murmured, "Go~"
The seven-colored fire lotus swayed gently, delicate and small. It appeared harmless, carrying a beautiful blessing as it moved forward. Its flight seemed slow, but in reality, it erased the surrounding space and flattened nearly a kilometer of distance.
In the blink of an eye, the two attacks collided.
The world seemed to quiet for a moment.
The next instant.
A blinding light illuminated the heavens and earth. The terrifying energy began to expand, instantly transforming into a massive energy barrier nearly a thousand feet wide, obliterating everything around it. Even the space was forcefully destroyed. The sky was torn apart, revealing an endless starry sky, and the ground shattered in massive chunks.
Had it not been for the two Dou Saints sealing off the space, the aftershocks of these two attacks alone would have turned this place into an abyss.
Under the watchful eyes of the Heavenly Serpent Saint and the Spiritual Turtle Saint, the energy barrier began to collapse and compress inward after reaching its peak, revealing the golden Dragon Pearl and the seven-colored fire lotus. The two energies began to erode each other, and the once-stable state began to collapse.
"It can't be stopped!" The Heavenly Serpent Saint's gaze darkened as he raised his hand, conjuring dozens of spatial barriers in front of him.
The Spiritual Turtle Saint beside him did the same.
Neither of them had expected that their opponent would push the Heavenly Dragon Saint to such an extent, even using desperate moves.
"Boom!"
Almost as soon as the two exchanged words, an explosion powerful enough to destroy the heavens and earth erupted. A seven-colored fire lotus thousands of feet wide bloomed, and the destructive force shattered everything around it, carrying the power of seven different flames as it obliterated the golden Dragon Pearl, then surged toward the Heavenly Dragon Saint.
"Impossible!" The Heavenly Dragon Saint watched in shock and anger as the seven-colored fire lotus engulfed him.
A brilliantly beautiful seven-colored fire lotus bloomed in the western part of the Northwestern Continent. The blinding light broke through the seals of the two Dou Saints, and the powerhouses in the Northwestern Continent felt the agonizing energy fluctuations. The Dou Zuns especially felt it most clearly, even sensing the breath of death from it.
In the Outcloud Empire.
Cai Lin and Cai Die saw this scene as well. Both women were stunned, and with their strength, they naturally recognized who had released the seven-colored fire lotus.
"Young Master is fighting someone!" Cai Die couldn't help but exclaim, then immediately wanted to tear open the space to take a look. However, Cai Lin stopped her.
"Don't go! We can't help in a battle at this level!" Cai Lin's cold, beautiful eyes showed some complexity as she spoke in a low voice. Looking at this attack, not only could they not block it, even the residual force would be enough to heavily injure them.
A battle at the Dou Saint level was not something a Dou Zun could participate in.
She had never expected there to be Dou Saints in the Northwestern Continent.
Upon hearing this, Cai Die stopped moving, bit her lip, and unconsciously hugged Ling Er tightly, squeezing the little one's legs. She could only watch with worry as the seven-colored fire lotus, though far from them, was still clearly visible and even felt the energy from it.
…
The feelings of those in the distance are not the focus for now.
At the edge of the battle, the Heavenly Serpent Saint and Spiritual Turtle Saint both had expressions of fear as they watched the blooming seven-colored fire lotus. This attack was simply ridiculously strong—definitely a Dou technique specializing in destructive power from the Celestial rank. The seven different flames intertwined, mixed with destructive power, and if they had faced it head-on, even with preparation, they wouldn't have been able to withstand it.
Let alone the Heavenly Dragon Saint.
The energy of the seven-colored fire lotus had reached its peak, the terrifying heat scorching everything in the world. The earth had directly disappeared, turning into a bottomless abyss that continued to expand. Above in the sky, endless starry space could be seen, surrounded by countless terrifying spatial cracks, dark and ferocious.
At this moment, the expanding seven-colored fire lotus suddenly paused, as though it had sensed something, and then rapidly gathered toward a single point.
"Eight Desolate Flame Seal!"
A figure appeared above the endless starry sky, stepping through the void. With a hand seal, a shadow identical to him appeared behind him, exuding immense pressure. He slapped down, and the remaining seven-colored flames rapidly condensed into a massive seven-colored seal, falling toward the blackened figure below who had not yet relaxed.
The blackened figure was naturally the Heavenly Dragon Saint. Although severely wounded by this move, he had not died. With a fearful look, he watched the falling seven-colored seal, sensing the killing intent, and could only forcibly extract his blood, angrily throwing a punch. A golden dragon shadow roared toward the sky, much like his current state.
To think that a peak one-star Dou Saint, a mighty figure, had been defeated by a high-level Half-Saint, and reduced to a state of near death. He had once been an extraordinary genius who had challenged those stronger than him. Never had he imagined such an outcome.
Yet, his final strike still failed. Almost as soon as it touched the seven-colored seal, it was crushed, letting out a mournful cry.
Then.
The massive seven-colored seal fell heavily, as though it had imprinted on the void. There was a slight pause, and then the terrifying energy spread outward. The destructive energy, carrying the power of seven different flames, surged into the Heavenly Dragon Saint's body.
His body immediately exploded in a series of blasts, with much of his flesh shattering, revealing his jade-like bones.
Yao Yan stepped forward, arriving next to the Heavenly Dragon Saint. Looking at the lifeless body before him, his gaze lingered for a moment before he locked onto a spot in the void. A playful smile appeared at the corner of his lips, and he raised his hand. A massive Hun shadow appeared behind him once more.
With a metallic clanking sound that caused the Hun to tremble, a pitch-black chain shot out and plunged into a hidden Hun body within the void.
"You… you are from the Soul Hall?!" The Heavenly Dragon Saint, his Hun controlled, had a flicker of astonishment in his eyes as he questioned.
"Sort of~" Yao Yan replied. The chain, infused with the power of seven different flames, quickly withdrew, pulling the captured Heavenly Dragon Saint's Hun into a jade bottle. Yao Yan then looked at the side, at the body and exploded flesh. With a wave of his hand, he collected them all into his storage ring.
To him, these were valuable cultivation resources. Even the Heavenly Dragon Saint's Hun could be used to nourish his own soul.
He was not picky.
Once he had everything cleaned up, Yao Yan turned his attention to the distance, where two more Dou Saints were hiding. Although their power was inferior to the one he had just defeated, they were still Dou Saints. However, before he could even act, he froze. As soon as he focused on them, they had already torn open the space and fled, showing no intention of revealing themselves.
"Am I that scary?" Yao Yan said in surprise, then smiled and stopped the operation of the Heavenly Fire Transformation. Instantly, his aura began to drop, and within a few breaths, he had fallen to the high-level Half-Saint rank. A sense of lightheadedness spread through his mind, and his body began to ache. Clearly, forcing himself into the two-star Dou Saint realm had placed an immense burden on his body.
Fortunately, his foundation remained unaffected. After some rest, he would recover.
"Little Master, why didn't you let me take action in a situation like this~" Tian Zi Huo's aggrieved voice rang in Yao Yan's mind. It had wanted to intervene earlier, but Yao Yan had stopped it, so it had been forced to watch. Otherwise, with its abilities, dealing with a one-star Dou Saint would have been easy.
"If you had made a move, he would have run," Yao Yan responded.
A Dou Saint wasn't an idiot. Facing a stronger opponent, wouldn't they run? If the other side was determined to escape, neither Yao Yan nor Tian Zi Huo would have been able to stop them. But if Yao Yan had appeared as a high-level Half-Saint, the opponent would never have tried to run directly.
"Hehehe, Little Master is so sly!" Tian Zi Huo understood what Yao Yan meant and laughed evilly. Then it continued, "Little Master, do you want me to help you refine his Dou Saint blood?"
It hadn't tasted Dou Saint blood yet and was curious about the flavor.
"Just keep quiet if you don't have anything useful to say…" Yao Yan glanced at it. He certainly wouldn't let Tian Zi Huo handle the body of a one-star Dou Saint. He shook his head slightly and said, "Not for now... if you have time, go back to the Hun Clan and bring me some blood essence from the ten thousand clans."
"Understood, Little Master." Tian Zi Huo agreed, and its form slowly vanished.
Yao Yan looked around at the ruins. The terrifying space cracks were rapidly repairing, so he didn't stay there long. He turned and headed toward the Outcloud Empire.
...
"Dammit, it's those scoundrels from the Soul Hall!" The Heavenly Serpent Saint's expression darkened as he cursed. Clearly, he knew a lot about the Soul Hall and what kind of monstrous entity stood behind it.
The Hun Clan, who had wiped out the Xiao Clan a thousand years ago, was unquestionably powerful among the remaining imperial clans. This was evident from how the Soul Hall had ravaged the entire Dou Qi continent. Even the great imperial families didn't have the power to interfere.
"Good thing we didn't show ourselves, or we would have been targeted!" The Spiritual Turtle Saint also spoke with a lingering fear.
The Soul Hall had mostly dealt with Dou Zun-level characters in the past, but now they were bold enough to openly attack Dou Saints. Had the Dou Qi continent really fallen into such a state of lawlessness? What were those imperial clans even doing?
If the Soul Hall were to take full control, would there still be a future for the Dou Qi continent?
"It seems a great change is coming to Central Continent!" The Heavenly Serpent Saint said gravely. From the style of that young man's attack just now, it was clear that Dou Saints rarely fought among themselves. But this verbal conflict between Yao Yan and the Heavenly Dragon was escalating into a life-and-death battle. It was absurd. He suspected that Yao Yan had targeted the Heavenly Dragon's Hun from the beginning, and the earlier verbal confrontation was just an excuse!
The Heavenly Dragon was indeed unlucky to be targeted by such a sinister person.
But thinking about it, it was only a matter of time. Once Yao Yan set his sights on the Heavenly Dragon Empire, the Heavenly Dragon would inevitably clash with the people from the Soul Hall.
"Want to go to Central Continent and have a look?" The Spiritual Turtle Saint asked.
"Go to hell! Knowing there's trouble and still going? That's courting death. The Soul Hall has been collecting souls for years. I suspect the Hun Clan is plotting something… It's best if we stay out of imperial clan matters!" The Heavenly Serpent Saint rejected the idea. With his strength, he couldn't handle the turbulence of the imperial clans. The stronger you were, the more you understood the significance of the great imperial clans. Only an idiot would rush in blindly.
When they arrived at the Northwestern Continent all those years ago, it was because they feared the scheming of the imperial clans. Who would have thought that a thousand years later, they wouldn't be able to avoid it?
He thought for a moment and then said, "Let's go to the Beast Domain. It's located in a corner of the Central Continent and is the territory of several major beast clans. It's sparsely populated."
"Good!" The Spiritual Turtle Saint nodded. "I happen to have some connections with the Tian Yao Phoenix Clan. We can stay there for a while and gather some information. Once the situation stabilizes, we can decide what to do!"
The Heavenly Serpent Saint nodded. The two of them then didn't hesitate and tore open the space to head toward the Beast Domain.
...
...
Outcloud Empire, Snake Clan Sacred Hall.
Yao Yan returned safely. After brief instructions to Cai Lin and Cai Die, he entered the secret chamber to rest and recover from his internal injuries. With the help of the Holy Spirit Pill, the minor injuries were completely healed after a few cycles, and once he returned to peak condition, he took out a golden dragon-shaped storage ring.
This storage ring, of course, came from the Dou Saint.
As a Dou Saint, the items within the storage ring were undoubtedly precious.
Yao Yan felt as though he were about to open a treasure chest. He first used his fusion flame to temper the ring and confirm that there was no problem before wrapping the flame around the Hun and probing inside. The Hun imprint on the ring had been removed by the previous owner, clearly indicating that they had erased it when abandoning their body, in an attempt to create a false death.
However, such a method was useless to an alchemist.
The dragon-shaped storage ring was clearly a special, high-grade storage ring. Its inner space was vast, filled with numerous items. Hundreds of Dou techniques and cultivation methods were stored within, all at least of the high-Xuan rank. Unfortunately, there were no Celestial rank techniques or Dou techniques, which was somewhat disappointing.
But this was normal. Celestial rank techniques and Dou techniques were incredibly difficult to make into scrolls. Their inheritance methods were also different from normal Dou techniques. Only imperial clans had the power to produce large quantities of Celestial rank techniques and store them in scrolls.
Next were pills and rare materials, but unfortunately, there were no nine-grade pills. Even the eight-grade pills were only of the seven-colored variety, which didn't interest him much. He couldn't help but mutter a bit about how poor they were.
Soon, Yao Yan's gaze was drawn to a golden seal and a scroll that were placed separately in a corner of the storage ring, slightly unusual.
