Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Bride Arrives at School

[Class 2-B]

"Well, this seems kind of sudden, but we have a transfer student." The teacher looks toward the door while closing a book: "Please, come in."

"Alright!"

An energetic voice echoed the moment the door was opened, and Lala appeared.

"My name is Lala Satalin Deviluke. Nice to meet you all."

"Ohhhh!"

The boys shouted, and a bald guy with narrow eyes said forcefully, his cheeks flushed with excitement: "A beautiful girl with long bubblegum-pink hair!"

Equally or even more excited, a boy adjusted his glasses, their lenses gleaming as he exclaimed: "Bust 89, waist 57, and hips 87. Perfect!"

Idiotic as teenage boys were, they started clapping loudly while shouting.

However, this stopped with Lala's next actions and words. She made a peace sign, saying cheerfully: "Yahoo, Rito! We're in the same class~!"

"Who is she?" Haruna murmured softly.

Soon, several piercing glares were directed at Rito.

"What the hell is this?"

"What's going on?"

"Why is this beautiful transfer girl talking to Rito so intimately?"

"Hey, hey, can someone explain?"

Men's jealousy was an ugly thing.

The moment they sensed Lala was close to Rito, several of them couldn't hide their ugliness.

A group of four boys, in particular, was even worse.

"Hey, hey, Rito! Who is she, what kind of relationship do you have?!" Kenichi asked. His eyes were now even scarier than the red eyes of the giant rabbits from the hunting dimension.

He wasn't the only one; most, if not all, of the boys were looking at him like they wanted to eat him alive.

"Huh? Me?" Lala smiled: "I'm Rito's fiancée!"

"What?!"

Now, even the girls screamed in unison with the boys, very loudly.

"Rito… You…" Kenichi was in shock. With a gulp, he continued: "How did you…"

"Damn it!" He was interrupted by a loud shout.

It was Issei, yelling with his hands on his head: "Why does Rito get such a beautiful fiancée and not me?"

"That's unfair!"

"Yeah, yeah!"

As if it were a protest they had the right to weigh in on, they started shouting.

"Silence!" The teacher suddenly shouted: "Hey, idiots. Don't make so much noise, it's annoying… If you want to know about their relationship, save it for later during the break. Now… Those who keep making noise…" She smiled: "Right?"

*Gulp!*

The teacher's threat worked successfully.

Even though they were curious, they didn't dare make a single peep.

Lala went to where Rito was and asked Saruyama Kenichi to give up the seat next to him for her.

"Well…" Scratching his head, he still gave in and moved to the empty seat behind.

"Hehe, we're sitting close~" Lala smiled sweetly at him.

*Bang!*

"Hey, Rito! What's going on?!"

During the lunch break, the boys surrounded Rito's desk.

One of them slammed his hands hard on his desk.

It was ridiculous that some of them were even crying.

"How the hell are you engaged to a beautiful girl like Lala?!"

"Why you of all people?!"

"Such an ugly thing." A girl with short silver-white hair said in a cold tone as she left the classroom.

"Hey, are you done? I want to have lunch with Rito." Lala interrupted them.

By doing so, the boys' hatred and jealousy only grew.

When one of them tried to grab his collar, Rito grabbed his wrist: "Hey, it's fine if you don't like this, but if you go too far, don't think I'll let it slide."

"Ow, ow, ow…"

Throwing Motohama's arm back, he shot a warning glare at the rest.

Things were heading in an annoying direction.

He didn't like it one bit watching it in the anime, and experiencing it in person was even more irritating.

"What the hell…"

"Motohama, you okay?" Issei asked and turned to him: "Hey, Yuki, didn't you go too far?"

"Too far?" He chuckled softly: "Tell me how I went too far? Was it when I tried to grab his collar out of jealousy, or because I yelled at him for thinking it's unfair that he has a beautiful fiancée?"

"Beautiful fiancée, he says~" Lala only heard the last part and brought her hands to her cheeks, blushing happily.

"That…" Issei lowered his head. He seemed unable to find words to argue.

"What the hell…"

"Issei, let's go." Matsuda pulled the sleeve of his shirt.

"Yeah…"

The rest, even if they wanted to say something, could only keep their ugly jealousy in their hearts while walking away, muttering under their breath.

"Done?" Lala asked.

"Uh-huh." Rito said: "Let's eat."

"Yay!" She raised her hand cheerfully with a smile: "Bento, bento. Bento made by Mikan~!"

Soon, he and Lala pushed their desks together and opened their bentos.

Now that things had calmed down, some girls approached.

"Hey, Miss Lala, can we eat with you?" They were four girls, one of them being Haruna Sairenji.

The other three were Momioka Risa, Sawada Mio, and Aika Kiryuu.

"Of course, make yourselves at home." Lala replied with a smile.

"How kind of you."

Soon, the lunch for two became a lunch for six.

"By the way, I'm Risa. Risa Momioka." She said with a simple smile.

Risa is an attractive girl with dark blonde hair and dark brown eyes.

"I'm Mio Sawada. You can call me Mio."

Mio has dark brown hair tied in twin tails, light brown eyes, and wears glasses.

"My name is Sairenji Haruna. Nice to meet you."

Haruna has blue hair and purple eyes, along with very pretty skin. She always wears a vertical red hair clip on the left side of her head.

With a provocative smile and a near-arrogant look, Aika said: "I'm Aika Kiryuu. Nice to meet you."

"I say the same." Lala smiled beautifully and full of energy: "It's a pleasure to meet all of you!"

"So, Lala. Can I call you that, right?" Aika continued, adjusting her glasses as Lala nodded in confirmation: "So… How did you two meet? How did you end up getting engaged?"

"Hehe, should I tell?" Lala giggled a bit, placing her hand on her cheek, and began to tell: "Actually, he's my hero. I'll never forget the moment he bravely protected and saved me~!"

"Oh-ho… Tell me more." Aika leaned on the desk with an intrigued look.

She wasn't the only one. What Lala said was enough to spark not only the curiosity of the other three girls but also of nosy listeners who overheard, who perked up their ears to catch every word.

Meanwhile, Rito, who was left aside as if he wasn't even there, sighed. He thought: 'How did things end up like this?'

For the next few minutes, Lala told her own version of how he 'saved' her.

Listening to her talk, he even caught himself thinking: 'Am I really that amazing?'

An exaggerated version, full of drama and flashy scenes with him as the protagonist of the story, appearing like a prince on a white horse saving the princess from evil bandits.

Shaking his head, he didn't contradict her.

Though she was exaggerating quite a bit, one day he would become the man she spoke of with such enthusiasm.

"Koneko, it's rare for you to call me to talk during the break."

"Leader Rias." Koneko said: "Someone appeared in my class, and she's not an ordinary person…"

Rias is a beautiful young woman with a voluptuous body, fair skin, blue-green eyes, and a curvy figure. Her most striking feature is her long, beautiful scarlet red hair that reaches down to her thighs, with a single strand (known in Japan as ahoge) sticking out from the top. Her hair also has loose bangs covering her forehead and side bangs framing her face.

"Huh? Come, sit down, tell me more about this." Rias's interest was piqued.
