The man bent slightly and murmured into her ears and she smiled. But when he glanced at his direction, the soft smile on his lips vanished.
His expression turned unreadable, his gaze sharp and indifferent as Stella stepped away from him.
What?
How can a man express both emotions at the same time?
Is he having a personality split problem?

Bruce threw his car door open and stormed forward.
"Stella!"
Her steps slowed.
Adrian stopped behind her and there was a shift in the air, the sharp edge of hostility. He turned just as Bruce approached, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Stella turned, then glanced at Adrian and her lips curled softly. "What's with the face?" She teased.
But he kept silent. Stella raised her hand and patted his cheek gently. "Relax, I can handle that."
Their eyes locked for a while before Bruce caught up.
He stopped directly in front of them, blocking their path. A few beads of sweat glistened on his forehead.
