Oswald's voice got me railed up but at this point I can't let my mask of calmness slip off.
I drew in a deep breath as I turned to face her but then she walked over to me "When will he be coming back?" she asked, her brows furrowed just as my lips parted to answer she continued. "Are you sure Dad wouldn't be angry?"
"No, he wouldn't." I answered with a smile. "Besides, I'm here with you."
I was more certain she had accepted this excuse just as every word dad said. Over the years it is as though his words are the only thing she is living to keep.
At other times, I praise her for her ability to endure and at other times I was left to wonder if she really understood what it meant to be treated coldly.
But anyways, I sighed with visible relief.
"Alright. Let's go." She smirked, a wide smile plastered on her face that I was stumped. Even as the waiter turned on his heels, I stood spacing out for a while before I followed suit.
