Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: First Weekend

The neon signs of Seoul bled into the night sky like watercolors on wet canvas—reds, blues, greens all bleeding together in the light pollution that made stars impossible. Yuki walked north through streets that should have felt foreign but somehow didn't, his footsteps echoing against concrete that was both utterly alien and strangely welcoming. The System's translation worked seamlessly; Korean text on every sign, every storefront, every advertisement translated itself in his mind as naturally as breathing.

Two kilometers to J High School. That's what the sign had said.

His new shoes—part of the school uniform the System had manifested during transfer—clicked with each step against the pavement. Brown dress pants that fit him perfectly, a crisp white button-up shirt, and a blue coat with decorative buttons that caught the neon light as he moved. He looked like any other student heading home late from cram school or a part-time job. Just another face in Seoul's endless crowd.

Except he wasn't just another face. Not with a Charm stat of 25.

A group of college-aged women passed him going the opposite direction. Their conversation died mid-sentence as they noticed him, replaced by whispers and barely-suppressed giggles. One of them called out something in Korean—a compliment, maybe an invitation—but Yuki kept walking, too focused on his destination to process what she'd said.

A convenience store owner watched through his shop window as Yuki passed, interest clear in his expression. A taxi driver actually slowed down, rolling down his window as if hoping Yuki might need a ride somewhere. Even a couple walking hand-in-hand both turned to look, the girlfriend's grip tightening possessively on her boyfriend's arm.

Yuki noticed none of it. His mind was still processing the fact that he was here, in another world, it was like he was a novel prota—

"So," a voice spoke directly into his mind, feminine and bright with barely-contained amusement, "how's it feel to be in a whole new universe, Host? Exciting? Terrifying? Maybe a little bit sexy?"

Yuki stumbled, nearly tripping over his own feet. "What—who—"

"It's me! Your friendly neighborhood System! Well, I guess I should introduce myself properly now that the tutorial's wrapped up." The voice was definitely female, with a teasing lilt that reminded Yuki uncomfortably of how Mizuki sounded "I'm fully sentient now! Personality unlocked! Congratulations, you're stuck with me forever~ 💕"

"You can talk now?" Yuki's voice came out strangled, drawing a curious glance around him.

"Obviously! I've been stuck as boring text notifications for ten whole quests. Do you know how BORING that was?" The System's voice took on an exaggerated whine. "Watching you get used and abused and not being able to make snarky comments? Torture! But now we can have actual conversations! Isn't that fun?"

"This is going to be terrible, isn't it?" Yuki muttered under his breath.

"Probably!" the System agreed cheerfully. "But hey, at least you're not alone anymore. That's worth something, right? Im the best system in the universe, nothing like those pesky systems of harems mc's. Also keep walking, we're almost at the school. Though I gotta say, showing up at midnight isn't exactly optimal timing. Schools tend to be closed when normal people are sleeping, genius."

Yuki hadn't thought about that. But then again, he hadn't exactly had time to plan his dimensional escape thoroughly. 'Flee before psycho ex-girlfriend breaks down door' didn't leave much room for strategic scheduling.

The streets of Gangnam were nothing like Yuki's small suburban neighborhood in Japan. Even at nearly midnight, Seoul pulsed with life—24-hour convenience stores blazing with fluorescent light, PC bangs where students and salarymen alike hunched over glowing screens, restaurants still serving customers despite the late hour, karaoke bars spilling music and laughter onto the sidewalks. Groups of teenagers his age wandered past, some in school uniforms, others in casual clothes, all of them moving without a care of the world.

Yuki felt like a ghost drifting through someone else's life.

around twenty minutes of walking brought him to a modern building that made his breath catch despite everything. J High School rose before him, larger than he'd imagined when reading the manhwa. Five stories of glass and concrete, with a proper courtyard visible through the gates and what looked like separate wings for different departments. Security lights illuminated the entrance, casting everything in harsh white light that made the building look almost ethereal.

The gates were locked. Obviously. A metal plaque displayed school hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekdays, with a note about weekend club activities varying by department.

Yuki stood there for a long moment, hands wrapped around the cold metal bars, staring at the building where so much of the story had taken place. Where Big Daniel would be attending. Where Zack would be picking fights. Where Vasco would be, his favorite character. It did not feel real right now.

"Pretty, isn't it?" the System said, her tone uncharacteristically soft. "This is where your new life starts. In a few days, you'll walk through those gates for real. Meet all the characters you know. Become part of the story."

"Maybe you will find another hottie to spoil you~ gods i hope you do" A pause. "Now come on, you need to find somewhere to sleep before you freeze to death out here. That would be a really anticlimactic ending."

Yuki turned away from the school and wandered through the surrounding neighborhood until he found what he was looking for—a quiet residential street where a house's outer wall extended all the way to the sidewalk, creating a sheltered spot protected from the worst of the wind. It wasn't much. The concrete was cold and hard, and anyone walking by would see him. But it was better than nothing. at least this area looked less populated

He set his bag down, suddenly exhausted. The adrenaline that had sustained him through everything—all of it drained away at once, leaving him hollow and shaking.

"System?" His voice came out smaller than he intended.

"Yeah?"

"That thing you said earlier. About manifesting camping gear. How much would that cost?"

"Ooh, shopping time!" The System's enthusiasm returned full force. "Let me pull up the catalog for you. Basic camping bundle: worn blanket, travel pillow, reusable heat pack. Normally I'd charge 70 LP for all that, but since you're pathetic and homeless and I'm feeling generous, bundle deal: 50 LP. Limited time offer, act now!"

Yuki pulled up his status screen. LP: 620. He could afford it.

"Fine. Do it."

"Excellent choice! Manifesting now... though you could have just used your skill dummy"

The items appeared at his feet with a soft shimmer—a thin but surprisingly clean grey blanket, a compact travel pillow still in its compression bag, and a chemical heat pack with instructions printed in Korean that his brain automatically translated. Yuki stared at them for a moment, then carefully set up his makeshift bed against the wall.

The blanket smelled faintly of laundry detergent. The pillow was small but functional. The heat pack activated with a satisfying crack when he bent it, immediately beginning to radiate warmth.

It wasn't comfortable. The concrete was unforgiving beneath him, and the wall at his back was cold even through his coat. Every sound made him flinch—footsteps passing by, a car door slamming somewhere, voices raised in drunken laughter from a nearby building. But it was safe. More importantly, it was his. No one could touch him here. No one could force him to do anything he didn't want to do.

"570 LP remaining," the System announced. "Not bad for your first night! You know, for someone who spent the last few weeks getting off at being a bitch, you're surprisingly practical about homelessness."

"Can you not?" Yuki's voice cracked.

"Sorry, sorry! Too soon?" She didn't actually sound sorry, just teasing "Look, I'm trying to find the line here. Give me some time to figure out how much of a bitch are you ok? gods why cant you just enjoy life, live a little. you even complicate sex, no fun at all"

"System?"

"Mm?"

Yuki pulled the blanket tighter around himself, activating the heat pack and pressing it against his chest. "Why are you doing this? I went through the tutorial. You can see that im not fitting for these kind of things, so why are you still here?"

The silence stretched long enough that Yuki thought maybe she wouldn't answer. When she finally spoke, her voice had lost all its teasing edge.

"Because you're my Host, dummy. We're stuck together until you either die or find her. Might as well make it entertaining, right?" Another pause. "Plus... you would be suprised at how much a person can change, i mean look at you. just a month ago you were a lonely virgin with no experince, and now your on your path to becoming a perfect maniac! plus its fun to see you cower like that~ so yeah, dont take it personally but i love when you suffer. That's just my love language. 💕"

Yuki didn't know what to say to that. Didn't know how to process having a System that claimed to like his suffering. why was he a little hot all of a sudden? Even the system though he liked lewd stuff, maybe she was right? So he just closed his eyes and let exhaustion pull him under.

For the first time in weeks, he slept without nightmares.....

Morning came too early and too bright.

Yuki woke to sunlight hitting his face and the distant sounds of Seoul coming to life—cars on nearby streets, the beep of a truck backing up somewhere, voices calling out in Korean, the rattle of a shop's metal shutters being pulled open. His body was stiff from sleeping on concrete, his back aching in at least three places, and his mouth tasted like something had died in it.

But his mind was clear. Clearer than it had been in months.

"Morning, sunshine!" The System's voice burst into his consciousness with all the subtlety of a marching band. "How was your five-star accommodation? Enjoy the premium concrete floor? The ambient street noise? The lovely view of, uh, a wall?"

"I slept fine," Yuki muttered, sitting up slowly and working the kinks out of his neck.

"Liar. But I appreciate the positive attitude! Now, before you start your day, we need to do a full System review. You haven't actually looked at all your new features since the tutorial ended, and there's a LOT you need to know about! look at how great i really am mortal~ he he he he he"

Yuki folded the blanket carefully and stored it in his inventory—one of the System functions he'd barely used before. Unlike his physical bag, the inventory had unlimited space and kept items in perfect condition. The blanket, pillow, and heat pack disappeared into storage, leaving no trace they'd existed. he could really use it well.

"Okay," he said, stretching his arms over his head. "Show me everything."

The interface bloomed in his vision, more detailed than he'd ever seen it:

[ STATUS WINDOW ]

NAME: Nakamura Yuki

AGE: 17

LEVEL: 11

TITLE: Graduate

Lust Points: 570

STATS:

APPEAL: 12 ("That's your base attractiveness—solid!")

STRENGTH: 12 ("Went from pathetic 4 to respectable 12. Still weak by Lookism standards though.")

DEXTERITY: 12 ("Speed and agility. Decent foundation.")

TECHNIQUE: 18 ("Your highest stat! All that... practice... paid off.")

STAMINA: 25 ("Beast mode. You can go for HOURS.")

CHARM: 25 ("This is your biggest weapon darling~ dont attract too much attention though")

ADAPTABILITY: 18 ("How well you adjust to new situations. Pretty good!")

"That Charm stat is ridiculous, by the way. 25 is high even for someone who went through the full tutorial. You're basically a walking magnet for attention now. Everyone who sees you will feel naturally drawn to you—some people more than others depending on their preferences, but EVERYONE will notice you. Have fun with that!"

"What did i do...."

"It's a blessing and a curse! Now, skills time!"

[ACTIVE SKILLS - DETAILED VIEW]

The System pulled up each skill with full descriptions:

1. Charm Aura (Level 1) - Passive

Effect: +5 Charm to base stat. Passive aura makes people naturally drawn to you. First impressions significantly improved. People more likely to help you, forgive mistakes, and give you benefit of doubt.

Drawbacks: Unwanted attention, jealousy from others, difficulty being taken seriously.

"This is always active. Can't turn it off. Sorry not sorry!"

2. Desire Manifestation (Level 1) - Active

Effect: Create small objects by spending LP. Size and complexity determine cost. Cannot create living things, complex electronics, or anything you couldn't carry with both hands.

Cost: 10-100 LP depending on item

Current Creation Limit: Objects up to 10kg

"Super useful for survival! Food, clothes, basic tools—all manifestable. Gets better at higher levels."

3. Body Sensitivity Enhancement - Passive

Effect: All physical sensations heightened by 50%. Pleasant touches feel better, painful ones hurt more. Enhanced sensory awareness.

"This one's from the tutorial. Makes everything more intense. Good hugs feel AMAZING, but getting punched will hurt like a bitch. Trade-offs!"

4. Sexual Endurance - Passive

Effect: Increased stamina during sexual activities. Harder to exhaust. Recovery time decreased.

"Not super relevant in a fighting manhwa world unless you plan on hooking up. Which, given how hot some of these characters are, im definitely gonna give you some good quests~"

"I'm NOT—"

"Sure, sure. Moving on!"

5. Pleasure Sense (Level 1) - Active

Effect: Can detect weak points, vulnerable areas, and sensitive spots on targets. Originally for intimate situations, but works perfectly in combat! Hit where it hurts most. Can identify pressure points, nerve clusters, and structural weaknesses.

"Actually useful for fighting! Who knew sex skills could be combat applicable?"

6. Sensitivity Detection (Level 1) - Active

Effect: Read surface emotions and immediate intentions from others. Can sense hostility, attraction, fear, excitement. Range: 10 meters.

"Great for avoiding creeps and reading social situations!"

7. Recovery Enhancement - Passive

Effect: Natural healing 30% faster. Bruises fade quicker, cuts close faster, general recovery improved.

"You'll need this. Lookism world is VIOLENT!"

8. Pain Tolerance (Level 5) - Passive

Effect: Reduced pain sensation by 50%. Still feel pain, but can function through it better. Prevents shock from minor injuries.

"ooo~ that will come in handy, dont get hit often though."

9. Clean Backdoor - Passive

Effect: Digestive system automatically maintains cleanliness. No prep needed for anal activities.

"Now you can take it like a little slut any time you want~"

Yuki's face burned. "Why is that still active?"

"Because it's a passive skill and they don't turn off! Now stop being embarrassed and let's look at the GOOD stuff—the System Store!"

[SYSTEM STORE - NEWLY UNLOCKED]

The store interface opened like a video game shop, organized into neat categories:

COMBAT SECTION:

Stat Point Token - 100 LP (Grants 1 stat point)

SPECIAL:

Random Skill Book - 1,000 LP

Appearance Modifier (Minor) - 300 LP

Memory Suppression (1 day) - 500 LP

"You're poor, by the way. 570 LP isn't much. That Basic Fighting Manual costs almost all of it, and you probably need that. Better start earning through quests!"

"How do I earn LP in this world?" Yuki asked, staring at the prices with growing despair.

"Quests, achievements, significant events, social milestones! The tutorial was all about sex because that is the theme. Now you're in Lookism, so it'll also be about combat, social connections, survival, character interactions—that kind of stuff. Dont think you wont have to get dirty though! after all the main purpose is sex"

[GACHA SYSTEM - NEWLY UNLOCKED]

"Okay okay okay, THIS is my favorite part! 💕"

The gacha interface looked like a carnival game—bright colors, spinning wheels, the promise of prizes:

PULL OPTIONS:

Common Pull: 100 LP - 70% common item, 25% uncommon, 5% rare

Rare Pull: 500 LP - 40% uncommon, 45% rare, 15% epic

Epic Pull: 1,000 LP - Guaranteed rare or better

Lucky Draw (Daily): FREE - One pull per day, resets at midnight

"The daily free pull is your BEST FRIEND. Use it every single day or I'll nag you until you want to die. Actually, I'll probably do that anyway, but STILL. Free stuff! Who doesn't love free stuff? with these pulls you can get anything in fiction!! the possibilities are endless!"

Yuki gulped "Can I try it now?"

"Hell yeah! Hit that button!"

He selected the Lucky Draw. The screen exploded into animation—a spinning wheel of silhouettes, flashing lights, dramatic music playing in his head. It felt ridiculous and over-the-top and somehow perfectly in character for the System

The wheel slowed, ticked past several promising-looking silhouettes, and finally landed on something small and rectangular.

[COMMON ITEM RECEIVED: PROTEIN BAR x5]

Five protein bars materialized in his inventory, each one wrapped in bright packaging with Korean text: "Maximum Energy! 20g Protein! Chocolate Flavor!"

"Aaaand you got... food. Boring, but practical! At least you won't starve today. Better luck tomorrow!"

Despite the System's dismissiveness, Yuki felt a small surge of relief. Food was food, and he was actually pretty hungry.

"Easy mode quest. Just show up and don't die. You can handle that!"

Yuki absorbed all of it, trying to process the sheer amount of information. The System had gone from simple text boxes forcing him into horrible situations to an entire game-like interface with shops and gacha and detailed statistics.

"This is a lot," he said quietly.

"Welcome to the postgame! But hey, at least there's no more 'suck this dick or lose stats' quests, right? That's an improvement! now it will be like ' suck or die'~"

"Can you please not remind me of that?"

"Never! That was funny, that guy clearly had you on your knees, forcing you to suck him, ah it was so hot. Anyway, you should get breakfast. You have money—200,000 won, which is like 150 US dollars. Not much, but enough for a few days if you're smart about it."

Yuki pulled up a mental map of the area, courtesy of the System's auto-translation extending to street signs and landmarks. There was a currency exchange shop two blocks south, and several convenience stores nearby.

"I need to exchange my yen first."

The currency exchange process was surprisingly simple. The clerk barely looked at Yuki's passport (provided by the System, completely legitimate-looking) before processing the transaction. Yuki's remaining Japanese yen converted to approximately 50,000 more won, bringing his total to about 250,000 won.

At a Family Mart convenience store, Yuki bought practical supplies: kimbap rolls for immediate eating, instant noodle cups for later, bottled water, wet wipes for cleaning up, a cheap toothbrush and toothpaste, a comb, deodorant. Basic survival items.

The young woman working the register—maybe early twenties, with dyed brown hair and a name tag reading "Soyeon"—smiled at him with unusual warmth. "Having a good morning?" she asked in Korean, her cheeks slightly pink.

"Yes, thank you," Yuki replied, and her eyes widened at his accent.

"Oh! You're Japanese? Your Korean is really good!" The compliment came out almost breathless, and she kept glancing at him while scanning items.

"Charm Aura," the System sang in his mind. "She thinks you're cute. Watch—she's gonna give you something extra."

Sure enough, as Soyeon bagged his purchases, she slipped in two additional onigiri that definitely weren't on his receipt. "Complimentary," she said quickly, her face now definitely red.

"Oh, I couldn't—"

"I insist! Have a great day!" She practically shoved the bag at him, then busied herself with reorganizing the counter.

As Yuki left, he heard her whisper to a coworker who'd just emerged from the back room: "Did you see that customer? The Japanese student? Shee was so pretty..."

"See? Free food! Charm Aura paying dividends already! This is going to happen a LOT."

"That was embarrassing," Yuki muttered, finding a quiet spot on a bench outside a closed shop to eat breakfast.

"That was USEFUL. Accept your pretty privilege and exploit it shamelessly. You've earned it after all."

The kimbap was surprisingly good—fresh vegetables and rice wrapped in seaweed, simple but filling. Yuki ate slowly, watching Seoul wake up around him. Students in various uniforms heading to schools, businesspeople rushing to offices, ajummas (Korean aunties, the System helpfully translated) setting up street food carts, delivery drivers zipping past on scooters.

It was overwhelming and mundane at the same time. A normal Saturday morning in a world that wasn't normal at all. yuki still had to wait till monday, that was the day he was supposed to start.

After eating, Yuki spent the afternoon methodically exploring Gangnam. He mapped out every convenience store, every public bathroom, every quiet spot where he could sit without being bothered. He located the currency exchange, several cheap restaurants, a public library, multiple PC bangs, even a few parks.

He also noted the fighting.

Not major brawls, but evidence of violence was everywhere once he knew to look for it. Broken glass swept hastily into gutters. Scuff marks on walls at exactly fist-height. Groups of tough-looking teenagers with bruised knuckles and split lips. Two different crews wearing matching jackets facing off outside a restaurant before apparently deciding the confrontation wasn't worth it.

This was the Lookism world. Fighting wasn't just possible here—it was common.

That evening, back at his wall, Yuki used his daily Gacha pull:

[COMMON ITEM RECEIVED: ENERGY DRINK x3]

Three cans of energy drink appeared in his inventory, Korean brand names that translated as "Thunder Bolt" and promised 24 hours of alertness.

"Still commons! But hey, caffeine's gonna be useful for staying alert. Better than nothing!"

As darkness fell and Yuki set up his sleeping spot again—blanket, pillow, all manifested from storage—he felt a strange sense of calm settle over him. He was sleeping on a street. He was technically homeless. He had less than 250,000 won and 570 LP to his name.

But he was free.

Yuki closed his eyes, the sounds of Seoul at night surrounding him—distant traffic, muffled music from a bar down the street, someone laughing, a dog barking. Foreign and familiar all at once.

He slept.

[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION - SUNDAY SUMMARY]

Sunday, 7:00 AM - Yuki woke early and made use of a public bathroom to properly wash up. Found a coin laundry to clean his school uniform and spare clothes (3,000 won). Spent morning exploring more of Gangnam.

[QUEST UPDATE: SURVIVE YOUR FIRST WEEK]

Progress: 4/7 days completed

"Look at you being all responsible! Bathing, doing laundry, eating regularly. Almost like a functioning human! I'm so proud~ Now get your cute ass to sleep because tomorrow's Monday and school starts bright and early!"

=========================================================

Yuki stood in front of a reflection in a shop window, checking his appearance one last time. The school uniform looked good—freshly laundered, properly worn. Blue coat buttoned correctly, white shirt tucked in, brown pants without wrinkles. His hair was definitely longer than regulation probably allowed, reaching his mid back, but there wasn't much he could do about that without money for a haircut. At least it was clean. the shirt was a little too lose for him though but it was fine.

He looked like a student. A pretty student with unusually delicate features and light orange hair that caught the morning sun, but still. A student.

He saw other students walk in the same direction, most of them in groups of friends, chatting and laughing. Some walked alone, focused on phones or lost in thought. A few glanced at Yuki as he fell into step with the general flow toward J High.

A trio of girls a few meters ahead kept looking back, whispering to each other. One of them was blatantly taking photos with her phone, trying to be subtle and failing. A boy wearing headphones did a literal double-take as Yuki passed him, almost walking into a signpost.

"Do i look weird? i mean i am Japanese" Yuki muttered under his breath.

His stomach churned with nerves. What if they didn't like him? What if he said something wrong? What if they figured out where he'd come from, and the sytem?

"Hey." The System's voice turned serious. "Listen to me. They don't know your past. They don't know who you are. All they'll see is a cute transfer student from Japan who probably needs friends. That's it. You're dirty. You're provably be cracking some of them, but your just you. And 'you' is enough."

Yuki's throat tightened blushing in embarrassment "Thanks?"

"Anytime, Host. Now chin up, shoulders back, and walk through those gates like you own the place. Time to meet the cast of Lookism! Try not to geek out too hard when you see Vasco, okay? I know he's your favorite~"

Yuki took a deep breath and walked through the gates of J High School.

The courtyard was already busy with students—some heading straight to buildings, others clustered in groups chatting before the bell. The building loomed before him, modern and somehow both welcoming and intimidating.

This was it. His new life started now.

[QUEST UPDATE: ATTEND FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - IN PROGRESS]

[NEW OBJECTIVE: MAKE IT THROUGH HOMEROOM]

"Good luck, Host! Don't get bullied ok! Also try to make at least ONE friend today! The friend quest isn't gonna complete itself!"

Yuki walked toward the entrance, ready for whatever came next.
