The thirty burly men were filled with fervor and awe. They knew the significance of this five-person team: they could access the same extraordinary power as the wizard, a world different from the worldview of ordinary people.

They actually witnessed the legendary magic today. The wizard's power was truly terrifying. He could even extinguish the light and heat generated by the explosion instantly, thus eliminating all the flames and explosion damage.

What would happen if such power were applied to a person? They would soon find out, because the Wizard was preparing to select five of the strongest warriors from among the 30 to form a special action team. Although this action team was only in reserve, it was enough to make these tough men in suits yearn for it. The Wizard had said that if this five-person team could pass his test, they would join the real SCP Foundation. The current SCP Technology Co., Ltd. and the SCP Foundation were only in name; there was a real SCP Foundation in secret, a force that only the Wizard could fully control and lead.

It is only accessible to the truly elite.

Of course, this news was given to them today. From today onwards, they are no longer security personnel of SCP Technology Co., Ltd., but have entered a short-term competition to select the five strongest individuals.

Other people will take their place!

Wang Ya officially announced: "From now on, the competition selection will begin. It will last for three days to select the five strongest people. The remaining people will serve as the special operations force of the SCP Foundation, but they will also have the opportunity to participate in the next batch of five-person reserve team elections."

Landon Fury and several executives from various departments of SCP Technology Co., Ltd. applauded.

Celebrate this moment!

...

[To help you understand the structure, I'll clearly explain it now; there are three layers in total!] The following is a hypothetical dramatic performance format!

[S.H.I.E.L.D.: Are the SCP objects related to your company?]

SCP Technology Co., Ltd.: We are simply a conscientious company that researches technology to benefit the people, pays taxes, and provides employment opportunities!

Ming: SCP Foundation: We are merely a fundraising and financial operations center, an organization that provides financial assistance to scientists and industry professionals facing difficulties, and receives a small amount of related benefits. We have nothing to do with them! (We recruit scientists and armed personnel; after several rounds of assessments, those who pass become members of the true SCP Foundation!)

Dark side: SCP Foundation: I'm just a fictitious entity!

...

Time is both a valuable and the most valuable thing.

It was a quiet night. Unlike the usual dark and deep night sky, tonight there was a half-moon and sparse stars adorning the night.

This is rare in Gotham City, which is known for its severe pollution!

The Blue District has undergone a dramatic transformation. Under the SCP Corporation's control, it has been divided into nine lanes. The SCP building, which is also the location of the SCP Corporation, is currently located in the fifth lane. The other lanes are undergoing intensive renovation and reconstruction, with major changes to both the environment and sanitation.

The entrance to the first alleyway is the location interface connecting the Blue District and the Hank District, at the boundary of the two areas. On the Hank District side, there are three or four baseball boys who are keeping watch, yawning and smoking.

It was a tough job, but there was no other way. It was their turn to keep watch tonight, to be on alert for a possible attack by the SCP Foundation from the Blue District.

But they didn't think the other side had the guts. Although it looked intimidating, with a large building under construction and a bustling renovation of the Blue District, it showed no intention of attacking the gang that had taken over their territory.

Suddenly, they felt that the SCP Foundation was nothing special. The measures they were currently implementing were, in their eyes, a perfect example of being foolish and rich. Let them fix it, the better they fix it, the more all the baseball boys would have to take when they attacked.

However, we should still be wary of those dozens of tall men in black suits; judging from their physique and overall demeanor, they are no ordinary people.

"Oh dear, when will this end? I have to come and keep watch every now and then, enduring the cold nights, it's really unbearable!"

One of the baseball boy's gang members complained, then took another puff of his cheap tobacco and began to smoke.

"Who says otherwise? I don't know what the boss was thinking. That SCP Foundation is complete nonsense. What gang would build houses for worthless people? They're even doing the cleaning! It's hilarious. And they told us to keep a close eye on them and report anything wrong immediately. I wonder how the SCP Foundation would dare to do that... Hahaha..."

Another member of the baseball team couldn't help but chuckle as he took the match that was handed to him.

Along with the faint flame, he lit a cigarette.

"I just don't know when the boss will finally go to the SCP Foundation. I'm going crazy from having to watch over him every day. Those wild boars and bastards are even bragging that they're going to drink the most expensive rum tonight. They're so damn idiots!"

Another member of the baseball boys gestured for them to bring over the matches. Watching them puff away, he, who was addicted to smoking, also wanted to have a smoke.

"Who knows! How could we possibly understand what the boss is thinking!"

The man answered casually.

The baseball boy who asked for matches took something and then lit a cheap cigarette without even looking up.

Thanks!

Along with the faint flame, a shadow seemed to flash by in the darkness under the light.

"Ah...what..."

"Didn't you hand me the matches? I'm lighting my cigarette!"

"But I've run out of matches! I lit the last one!"

The three members of the baseball boy group were immediately terrified, warily looking around at the darkness.

"What the hell? If you didn't give it to me, then who did?!"

The man spoke in a somewhat flustered manner, even the cigarette in his mouth was trembling.

"Who the hell knows? But something's really off!"

Click!

They released the safety from their pistols and, under the moonlight, cautiously searched their surroundings.

"Excuse me! I've run out of matches, could you please return them to me?"

A hoarse, cold voice appeared behind them, and the man who had just lit his cigarette with a match was horrified to find that a hand was patting his shoulder.

A burly figure emerged from the darkness…
