Bang!
"This slap is for me. Do you have any idea how exhausting it is to hit you?"
Shock filled the air.
Everyone present was stunned by the scene. Even the members of the Sports Department standing behind Fang Li froze in disbelief. The moment felt unreal, as if they were dreaming.
Seeing Fang Li being slapped, Yan Xu quickly slipped away from the crowd. He was truly afraid of Xia Tian. If Xia Tian hadn't vented enough anger and decided to hit him again, Yan Xu felt he would die of humiliation.
The students from the Arts and Literature Department were also completely terrified by Xia Tian's sudden violence.
"Wah! Wah!" Fang Li actually began to cry.
Everyone gaped in disbelief. The Minister of Sports was crying—he had been beaten and now was sobbing. The scene was absurd. Even Xia Tian was taken aback; the man who had acted so tough moments ago was now bawling like a child.
"Alright, I won't hit you again. Stop crying already," Xia Tian said helplessly.
"Wah! Wah!" Fang Li cried even louder.
"If you keep crying, I'll beat you to death," Xia Tian said coldly. At that, Fang Li immediately stopped.
"Get lost. Don't let me see you again."
The moment Fang Li heard those words, he turned and ran off without a backward glance.
"What are you all still standing here for? Want me to send you off too?" Xia Tian glared at the rest of the Sports Department, and they scattered in shame.
Not far away, a girl sat watching.
"Xia Tian… interesting." It was Huo Wen. She didn't go over to the Arts and Literature Department; instead, she turned around and left quietly.
The brief altercation didn't dampen the group's spirits. Everyone knew Xia Tian had acted to protect the Arts and Literature Department. He was only ruthless toward his enemies.
"Today's match will be a bit tricky," Ye Qingxue said, glancing at Xia Tian.
"No problem," Xia Tian replied.
"I haven't even told you what's tricky about it," Ye Qingxue said.
"It doesn't matter. I won't lose," Xia Tian said calmly.
"Let me explain. All the first-string players from the basketball team are participating this time. The Fang Li you played against last time was just one of them. This time, there are five," Ye Qingxue explained briefly.
"No problem."
"You always say that." Ye Qingxue sighed. "Sister Wen got involved in this. She said that if you win, you must make Xue Chuan kneel and apologize. But listen—no matter what happens, you must not make him kneel, even if you win. Everyone has their dignity. Xue Chuan went too far, yes, but he didn't actually mean it."
What Ye Qingxue feared most was that Xia Tian would humiliate Xue Chuan the way he had made Tang Yan fulfill her bet last time.
Although Xue Chuan's words had been excessive, Ye Qingxue knew he had only said them to provoke Xia Tian.
"No problem."
The game was about to start. This time, Ye Qingxue didn't call for outside help. She simply asked Xia Tian to bring along the four effeminate guys from the Arts Department. Zeng Rou followed them into the inner court.
The entire basketball team showed up today, cheering loudly for their five main players. The "basketball babes" were there too. Although Tang Yan didn't let them perform their dance routine, their enthusiasm was undiminished as they shouted encouragement from the front rows of the stands.
Support for the Arts and Literature Department had grown as well. Some students even held up signs reading "God of Basketball," though the image on the posters wasn't Xia Tian's face but his back—no one had managed to capture a proper photo of him in the last game.
"Look! Isn't that Yun Miao, the most beautiful girl at Jianghai University?"
"She actually came to watch the game!"
"She's so beautiful I wouldn't even dare approach her."
As soon as Yun Miao appeared, every eye in the stands turned toward her. The men stared, awestruck, but none dared to get close. Whenever they tried, they felt an overwhelming sense of inferiority.
The stadium was packed, yet when Yun Miao arrived, people immediately began offering up their seats.
"Yun Miao, sit here with me," called Huo Wen. Though she and Yun Miao weren't close, they had met before.
Yun Miao nodded slightly. Huo Wen's seat was in an excellent spot, and no one dared sit nearby, which saved Yun Miao the usual trouble.
"Senior Sister, that must be the God of Basketball!"
"Ling'er, don't call me Senior Sister in front of so many people," Yun Miao whispered.
"Oh—Sister Miao, that guy's the God of Basketball." Ling'er pointed toward the only man in the Arts Department who looked masculine. There were five men in total; the other four were delicate and effeminate. Only Xia Tian looked like a normal man.
"Nothing special," Yun Miao said, glancing at Xia Tian.
The game began.
"Jump ball!"
"Brother Tian, go for it! None of them can match you!" the four effeminate guys from the Arts Department shouted.
"I'm not interested. Let them have it," Xia Tian said lazily.
"Come on, God of Basketball!" Ling'er shouted from the stands. Her voice caught Xia Tian's attention, but his gaze wasn't on her—it fell instead on Yun Miao beside her.
Beautiful.
For a moment, Xia Tian didn't know how to describe her beauty. His eyes were drawn to her completely, and his X-Ray eyes activated instinctively to scan her body.
But then he realized something was wrong—his X-Ray eyes weren't working.
To confirm, he turned his gaze toward Ling'er, but still couldn't see through her.
This confused him even more. Why couldn't he see through either of them? Was there something unusual about their clothes?
2–0.
While Xia Tian was distracted, Fang Li scored the first point with a graceful slam dunk.
"I want flowers, I want applause. I know I'm handsome, but I just want to be a beautiful man in peace," Fang Li said, striking a narcissistic pose.
Xia Tian's eyes remained fixed on Yun Miao. Her beauty made it hard for him to look away.
Bang!
4–0.
"Xia Tian! What are you doing? Do you even want to play?" Ye Qingxue shouted angrily. Her voice snapped Xia Tian back to his senses, and he reluctantly tore his gaze away from Yun Miao.
