Half a month later, Alabasta.
On this day, the weather was beautiful, and the sky was as blue as a polished water mirror.
In the city of Katorea—which was originally the base of the Revolutionary Army established under Crocodile's manipulation—peace had returned. After Luo Chen dealt with Crocodile, the rebels learned the truth: the national drought had nothing to do with King Nefertari Cobra. It was all a scheme plotted by Crocodile.
Consequently, the Revolutionary Army disbanded without a single drop of blood being shed, and the country regained its tranquility.
The former leader of the rebels, Kohza, had settled down in Katorea. He was currently toiling in the fields when he suddenly heard someone nearby shouting.
Kohza looked up and squinted. In the cloudless, clear sky, two black dots appeared, rapidly descending from a high altitude. They were directly above his head.
A moment later, the two black dots became clear. Someone in the nearby field cried out in alarm, "Is that... a person?"
"It's not Pell, but they have wings too!"
The two figures in the sky came into the view of the field workers. Both possessed a pair of pitch-black bat wings, tall statures, and faces as hideous as demons. Just looking at them sent a chill through the heart, leaving hands and feet feeling cold.
The figure on the right was particularly massive, standing dozens of meters tall—clearly a member of the Giant race.
Boom—!
Amidst a deafening roar, dust splashed up from the fields, and a powerful, deathly cold aura swept outward. As the yellow dust dissipated, two demonic figures were revealed.
The expressions of Kohza and the surrounding workers changed drastically; some turned and ran immediately. Everyone knew that these visitors boded ill. Furthermore, these were enemies they could not possibly hope to defeat.
"Die—!"
The Giant demon had bandages wrapped around his eyes and a pair of pitch-black horns growing from his head. A cold voice escaped his lips, and a powerful Haki erupted from his body.
Conqueror's Haki shook the heavens, causing countless clouds to gather from afar. In an instant, the sky over the Alabasta Kingdom grew dark.
In the fields, the fleeing villagers' eyes rolled back as they lost consciousness and collapsed. Conversely, those who had not moved remained conscious.
The demonic figure resembling a human old man flickered, appearing instantly before a conscious villager. A pitch-black iron fist swung out.
The villager's face was filled with terror, but before he could even let out a scream, his entire body exploded into a mist of blood.
Witnessing this scene, the conscious people shrieked in terror, fleeing in all directions like headless flies.
The Giant demon, Loki, released his Conqueror's Haki once more. The fleeing villagers promptly fainted.
Steel Bone Kong glanced at Loki and grinned. "You like capturing prey while they're awake?"
He could have used Conqueror's Haki to knock everyone out in an instant, yet Loki deliberately left some conscious.
"I love seeing the expressions of despair on their faces," Loki sneered, his massive figure flickering. In an instant, he appeared before another villager.
A massive iron hammer swung out, smashing the villager into a bloody mist.
"You bastard, stop it!"
Seeing this, Kohza's eyes nearly burst with rage. With bloodshot eyes, he charged forward, brandishing the hoe he used for farming.
Loki gave a playful smirk and swung his massive steel hammer. Within the dark clouds, thunder roared and currents of electricity surged. Suddenly, a bolt of azure lightning struck down, hitting Kohza with precision.
He let out a tragic cry as his body turned charred black, then he collapsed to the ground, silenced.
Loki walked over and crushed Kohza's unconscious body with one foot, sending blood and broken limbs flying.
"Let the slaughter begin!" Loki let out an excited roar.
Imu had used Steel Bone Kong's body to descend upon the Giant kingdom of Elbaf and used "Black Conversion Dominance" to enslave him, turning him into a demon. Power surged through him continuously, accompanied by an intense desire for slaughter and destruction.
Like a god of thunder, Loki leaped high into the air, gripping the handle of his hammer with both hands and raising it above his head. Hundreds of azure lightning bolts from the sky were drawn into the giant hammer.
He slammed the hammer of the thunder god heavily onto the earth.
In an instant, the ground within a thousand-meter radius collapsed and shattered. Soil, crops, and houses were buried under endless yellow sand as if a mountain dragon had turned over.
The citizens of Alabasta in that area could not escape. They were either electrocuted into charred remains or suffocated under the mud and sand.
Such a massive disturbance was sensed by the residents of the surrounding towns. Even the members of the Nefertari royal family in the capital, Alubarna, noticed that something was wrong.
Inside the palace, King Cobra summoned Pell.
"Pell, please go to Katorea and see what has happened there."
Cobra stood by the castle window with a solemn expression. In the distant horizon, the sky above Katorea was shrouded in ink-thick dark clouds, with lightning rolling incessantly.
Cobra felt a faint sense of unease. It seemed as though a catastrophe was unfolding in Katorea.
The Guardian of the Kingdom, Pell, took the order. He leaped from the window, his body transforming into a falcon-man in mid-air. With a flap of his wings, he flew rapidly toward the city of Katorea.
Princess Vivi stood behind her father, looking into the distance with a worried face. What exactly was happening?
She turned and walked quickly toward her bedroom. Back then, when Luo Chen had brought her back to Alabasta to deal with Crocodile, he had left a contact number before departing.
If Alabasta encountered an irresistible crisis, the only one she could place her hopes on was Luo Chen. Aside from him, no one else could help her.
...
Twenty minutes later, at the Zhenhai Star Hub.
Robin walked quickly toward the basement of the Tianyun Pavilion. She stopped before a steel door in the basement and said hurriedly:
"Something has happened in Alabasta. Imu has appeared and is conducting a national slaughter."
As the words fell, Luo Chen's voice came from behind the iron door.
"Understood. Leave it to me."
There was only that one sentence. Hearing it, however, Robin breathed a sigh of relief.
Behind the iron door was a closed-door cultivation chamber. Before leaving, Luo Chen had left behind a Wood Clone. If there was an emergency, one only needed to shout at the door. Luo Chen's clone would naturally hear it and then voluntarily dissipate, returning to the original body.
Once the clone dissipated, Luo Chen himself would receive the clone's memories, thereby learning the news.
...
In the first half of the Grand Line, within the space of the Rainbow Mist.
Inside a pitch-black sphere formed by Truth-Seeking Balls, Luo Chen suddenly snapped his eyes open.
"National slaughter? What kind of trouble is Imu stirring up now?"
He murmured under his breath. Although he was talking to himself, his movements were not slow.
Activating the Flying Thunder God formula on the outside, Luo Chen's figure instantly vanished from within the pitch-black sphere. When he reappeared, he was already at the coast of Ruluka Island.
He donned a cloak of indigo energy, and his pupils turned sky-blue. The space in front of him collapsed, forming a spatial tunnel leading directly to Alabasta.
Luo Chen stepped forward, and his figure disappeared into the tunnel.
