In the first half of the Grand Line, Ruluka Island.
Guided by the Eternal Pose, Luo Chen used a spatial corridor to precisely descend over the island.
Ruluka Island was not particularly large, but a towering lighthouse stood prominently upon it. According to the information Robin and Kalifa had helped collect, the Rainbow Mist always appeared in the sea area near this island.
Its last appearance was fifty years ago.
In the original plot, the Straw Hat Pirates had entered the Rainbow Mist. However, because his appearance had changed too many things, the Straw Hat Pirates were currently unaware of its existence. Carina had also explicitly stated that she knew nothing about the Rainbow Mist.
Luo Chen stood high in the sky, surveying the vast ocean surrounding Ruluka Island. The surface of the sea was calm and tranquil, with no abnormalities in sight.
He frowned slightly.
The appearance of the Rainbow Mist followed no discernable pattern. If he could not find it, he might have to wait for a year or even several years without discovering anything.
"There is a man named Dr. Henzo on the island who specializes in researching the Rainbow Mist. If I can't find it myself, I'll have to go and ask him."
Luo Chen glanced down at Ruluka Island below. He wasn't even sure if Dr. Henzo was still on the island; his presence had altered too many events.
Luo Chen rested his chin in his hand, his face showing deep thought.
In every historical legend, the Rainbow Mist appeared near Ruluka Island. This meant that the Rainbow Mist did not move randomly but was confined to this vicinity. Yet, most of the time, it remained invisible.
The most likely reason was a matter of space.
Perhaps the Rainbow Mist and the real world were not on the same spatial plane. Only when specific conditions were met would the space of the Rainbow Mist intersect with reality, allowing it to appear before the eyes of the world.
Luo Chen had no way of knowing what those specific conditions were. However, he was quite adept at utilizing the power of space.
Flying Thunder God, Kamui, and the Tenseigan all possessed spatial capabilities. This gave Luo Chen an exceptionally high level of perception and control over space.
His eyes slowly transformed into a celestial blue.
His Observation Haki, combined with his spatial perception, spread out in all directions. If a different dimension existed nearby, there was a high probability he could discover it.
Before long, Luo Chen's eyes suddenly narrowed as he looked toward the sea directly north of Ruluka Island.
Slightly over four hundred meters away, there was clearly a different space hidden deep within the void. He did not rush to approach it, but instead carefully searched the surroundings several times.
Half an hour later, Luo Chen let out a soft sigh of relief, certain that there were no other hidden dimensions nearby. The only possibility for the Rainbow Mist space was that spot four hundred meters north of the island.
He activated Amenotejikara, instantly appearing on the sea four hundred meters away.
"Wood Clone Technique."
Luo Chen created a clone for himself.
The Rainbow Mist space was quite mysterious; those who entered it were said to never return. He wasn't sure if he could return smoothly either, so he had to use a clone to test it first.
The Wood Clone raised its hand and pressed against the void in front of it.
The space before him slowly distorted, turning into a spiral shape as the spatial forces became chaotic. After a short while, the distorted space stabilized, forming a black hole.
The Wood Clone did not hesitate and stepped inside.
Luo Chen stood quietly on the sea, gazing at the spatial black hole and waiting patiently. He looked at the pocket watch in his hand from time to time.
It wasn't until fifty minutes later that a ripple emerged from within the spatial black hole. A figure stepped out from inside.
Luo Chen narrowed his eyes and felt relieved when he saw it was the Wood Clone. After entering the Rainbow Mist space, the connection between him and the clone had been severed. Since the Rainbow Mist was rumored to be the entrance to the Land of the Gods, Luo Chen was truly worried that some kind of monster might come running out.
The Wood Clone also held a pocket watch. After glancing at it, he said:
"It's very quiet inside. I stayed for exactly one minute."
Luo Chen held up his pocket watch for the clone to see.
The Wood Clone's eyes flashed as he spoke, "Fifty minutes in the outside world. In other words, the time flow ratio is fifty to one."
He looked back at the spatial black hole and pondered, "The gravity in the Rainbow Mist space is vastly different from the outside world. It can be confirmed that gravity is causing the deceleration of time."
"This time, I will go in and try to reverse the gravity. If I can make the gravity in the Rainbow Mist space significantly weaker than the outside world, the flow of time will accelerate."
Luo Chen was unsure if reversing the gravity of the Rainbow Mist space would cause any accidents. Letting the clone go in to try was the safest option.
The Wood Clone turned around and entered the Rainbow Mist space once more.
Two hours later, the sky outside began to darken. Suddenly, a thunderous explosion erupted from within the black passage connecting to the Rainbow Mist space.
Luo Chen's eyes narrowed slightly; fortunately, he did not sense the clone being destroyed. He calmed his mind and continued to wait.
Another hour passed before the Wood Clone emerged from the black hole, looking disheveled and covered in soot. He wiped the dust from his face, took out his pocket watch for a look, and asked:
"How much time has passed outside since that explosion?"
"One hour," Luo Chen replied, looking at his watch.
A smile appeared on the Wood Clone's face. "It was a success. I stayed inside for two hours just now."
Just then, he had used various means such as the Tenseigan, Bansho Ten'in, and Shinra Tensei to forcibly reverse the gravity of the Rainbow Mist space. This had caused a massive spatial explosion, and many shipwrecks and mummies within the Rainbow Mist space had been annihilated.
Now, spatial turbulence was everywhere within the Rainbow Mist. Even an Admiral or one of the Four Emperors would have their bodies torn apart if they entered. The Wood Clone had used the Truth-Seeking Balls to create a shelter and stayed within the spatial turbulence for two hours.
Meanwhile, only one hour had passed in the outside world.
This proved that the flow of time inside the Rainbow Mist was now twice as fast as the outside world.
Going from fifty times slower to twice as fast was already the limit of the Wood Clone's physical strength. Furthermore, the gravity of the Rainbow Mist space was recovering on its own. Perhaps in a month or so, the gravity would become as strong as the outside world, and then continue to strengthen until it returned to its original state.
The stronger the gravity, the slower the flow of time. To maintain the weak gravity environment within the Rainbow Mist space, Luo Chen would have to set aside time to periodically manipulate the gravity.
After learning the internal situation from the Wood Clone, Luo Chen no longer hesitated and his main body dove into the spatial passage.
Before entering, however, he left a Flying Thunder God formula on Ruluka Island.
With Kamui, the Tenseigan, and Flying Thunder God as triple insurance, he refused to believe he could be trapped within the Rainbow Mist space.
...
The mysterious space was filled with multi-colored mist. Within that mist, there were countless dark-gray currents of energy darting around like spirit snakes. These dark-gray currents were chaotic spatial forces.
Luo Chen stood within this bizarre space, clad in a cyan-blue energy robe, with twelve pitch-black Truth-Seeking Balls revolving around him.
He reached out and caught a cluster of gray spatial turbulence.
Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle...
The cyan-blue energy covering his palm rippled, letting out the sound of tearing.
"The chaotic spatial force is as sharp as a blade. It's enough to shred a physical body of Kaido's caliber."
With Luo Chen's current physical body, he likewise could not withstand this level of spatial force. He had to use the Tenseigan's energy to protect himself.
His pale blue eyes scanned the surroundings. After confirming there were no issues, the pitch-black Truth-Seeking Balls expanded.
A pitch-black sphere enveloped Luo Chen. Despite the gray spatial turbulence cutting against it, the pitch-black walls remained completely unscathed.
