Chapter 114 - Chapter 114: Suggestions for Champa’s Candidate

The two destructive beams tore through Gran's position, streaking across countless starfields. After striking two planets, the planets were completely obliterated.

Ding!

Whis' hourglass finally ran out. He swung his staff swiftly, unleashing the supreme power of an angel. The entire Seventh Universe—except for Gran and the assembled deities—was bathed in this angelic energy.

Time Reversed!

The Seventh Universe rewound rapidly, returning to its state three minutes prior.

The destroyed Kai World and countless starfields were restored as if the terrifying divine battle had never occurred.

Silence enveloped the cosmos.

Gran hovered amidst the stars. His head felt like it had been beaten into a pancake, but he had no time to dwell on the pain.

He closed his swollen eyes, sensing his body.

Third Level body instincts. After ten long years, he had finally broken through to this stage.

Gran struggled to find words to describe the feeling. All he knew was that he now felt frighteningly powerful.

If his martial arts had once hovered at the peak of mortal capability, now he had officially stepped into the realm of battle gods.

"You little brat… well done!"

Beerus flew over, slapping Gran hard on the shoulder in excitement.

"Ow! Ow! Ow!"

Gran opened his swollen eyes, grimacing. Only now did the pain of his injuries register.

Champa appeared beside him, sneering:

"Feeling the pain now, huh? Do you dare challenge me again next time?"

"We'll see about that later. For now, I must thank you, Lord Champa."

Dragging his battered body forward, Gran bowed deeply:

"If it weren't for you, Lord Champa, I'd likely be nothing but a corpse. And without your inadvertent help, I wouldn't have been able to break through my body instincts either!"

Gran knew that Champa had been holding back all along. Otherwise, with his own strength, he would have been crushed long ago—even if Champa had used the same force.

"Hmph. Good, you understand!"

Champa huffed arrogantly, lifting his pudgy chin.

Had it been anyone else, they wouldn't have even survived the spar, let alone been given a chance to spar at all. Only this little brat enjoyed such privileges.

After all, his talent was terrifying.

And most importantly—he was Beerus' only disciple.

"Hey, hey, hey, what about me?"

Beerus tugged at Gran's collar, pouting.

"You breaking through is partly thanks to me, you know!"

"Yes, yes, yes. I nearly died just now. Truly, this breakthrough is all thanks to Lord Beerus."

Gran let his arms droop, lifting his pancake-like head and frowning.

Since arriving in the Dragon Ball world, he had never felt death so close. He had really almost died.

"Ha… ha ha."

Beerus released him, awkwardly laughing.

"I just wanted you to feel the pressure of death since you kept failing to break through. Look at you now—you succeeded!"

"…"

Gran's mouth twitched, the movement aggravating the wounds on his face. He exhaled a cold breath and gave Beerus a proper bow:

"Thank you, Lord Beerus, for your final assistance."

He wasn't ungrateful. Without Beerus' lethal destructive beam, Champa would never have dared to go all out. And without that, Gran would never have achieved his breakthrough.

"Hmph. That's more like it."

Beerus nodded in satisfaction and noticed Whis flying over with the others.

"This kid's badly injured. Whis, tend to him first."

At that moment, Gran coughed up more blood.

He was seriously wounded—nose, ribs, femur… nearly every bone in his body had suffered. Such was the cost of battling a God of Destruction.

Seeing this, Champa felt a twinge of guilt, avoiding Beerus' gaze.

If he had beaten up this disciple so severely, would he have to take a beating himself?

Beerus noticed Champa's expression but said nothing. After all, he had commanded this outcome.

"Almost done."

Whis waved his staff.

A beam of light entered Gran's body, and his injuries healed instantly.

"Unexpectedly, by a twist of fate, your body instincts broke through. How do you feel now?" Whis asked.

Gran flexed his limbs.

"I don't know how to describe it… it's just… strange. In a good way."

He had only wanted a satisfying fight with Champa. He never imagined he would achieve a breakthrough from it.

"Strange is right."

Whis patted his shoulder, smiling.

"Body instincts aren't like power. Above divine-level strength lies angel-level ability."

"And body instincts only have nine levels. I've told you this before."

"Each level represents a chasm, even a dimensional gap."

"If Second Level among mortals is a master of martial arts, then Third Level can be called a martial god!"

As Gran listened to his master, his confusion began to fade.

"When you dodged the lethal strikes of Beerus and the others, you felt the terrifying power of Third Level body instincts yourself."

"Now, even if ten of your past selves attacked you together, they could not defeat you!"

Whis smiled.

"Of course, Third Level is merely the entry point to battle godhood. Gods like Lord Champa have already reached the even more terrifying Fourth Level."

At this,

"Hey! Hey! Hey!"

Champa exploded.

"Whis! Are you crazy? How can you reveal my strength to someone else?"

Beerus scoffed.

"In the realm of gods, your strength isn't exactly a secret. What does it matter?"

"Since that's the case, I might as well tell Gran your true power too—"

Before Champa could finish, Beerus slapped his hand over his mouth.

"Gran, weren't you going to give this guy suggestions for candidates?" Beerus said, holding Champa's mouth shut.

Gran froze. He had thought he might finally gauge Beerus' true power!

"Lord Champa, since we've fought, I will keep my promise."

Gran spoke seriously:

"If you are choosing candidates, I suggest considering the Saiyans from Universe 6!"
