"Lord Beerus, what's wrong?"
Gran stood up as well. He immediately noticed that Beerus's expression was seriously off.
Beerus was drenched in cold sweat, his body even trembling ever so slightly.
How was that possible?
His God of Destruction was supposed to be the strongest among them—who could possibly make him…
Wait!
Don't tell him… it was that eraser?
Gran instantly recalled Zeno—the "Full King," the literal childlike deity who erased universes at a whim. In the anime, Beerus feared nothing and no one… except that eraser-happy Zeno!
"Wh–Whis… check what's going on, quick!" Beerus forced himself to stay calm.
Whis maintained his usual elegant demeanor, but his expression grew serious as he checked the information inside his staff. Then he spoke gravely:
"Lord Beerus, the Grand Zeno has announced a God of Destruction meeting."
"A… God of Destruction meeting?"
Beerus's whole body jolted. Don't tell him Zeno wanted them to play hide-and-seek again?!
Gran narrowed his eyes. As expected—this was related to that little eraser!
There was no such meeting in the original storyline. What in the world had happened?
The atmosphere in the dining hall suddenly grew tense.
"Lord Beerus, if the Grand Zeno wants to play hide-and-seek again, please don't be reckless and sneak off to nap like last time!"
Whis leaned on his staff, completely unbothered by the situation and happily teasing Beerus.
"You're so annoying, Whis! Why do you have to rub salt in old wounds?" Beerus snapped, unable to guess what Zeno was planning.
But whatever came, he'd deal with it!
If Zeno wanted to play hide-and-seek again, he simply wouldn't sneak back to nap this time.
And if it was a fight—well, he feared that even less.
Thinking of this, Beerus finally relaxed a little and asked, "When is the God of Destruction meeting being held?"
"Right now."
"What?!"
Beerus's barely recovered composure shattered instantly. "They always give us time to prepare—why is it so sudden this time?"
Whis pondered. "That is something only the Grand Zeno knows."
"..."
Beerus was silent for a moment, then waved his hand. "What else can we do? Let's go!"
He carried an air of tragic heroism—a warrior marching to the battlefield, never to return.
Gran snorted inwardly. Save the dramatics.
Gran himself wasn't worried about Beerus at all. Beerus had survived even the nightmare hide-and-seek incident years ago. His luck was outrageous.
No
Their entire universe's luck was outrageous.
Gran wasn't afraid for Beerus. He was simply curious why Zeno suddenly wanted a God of Destruction meeting.
"Lord Beerus, go and come back quickly! And please don't make the Grand Zeno angry!" Gran teased as he sat back down.
"You brat, are you asking for a beating?!"
Beerus's teeth were itching with frustration.
Being summoned by Zeno already put him in a foul mood, and Whis and Gran just had to poke the wound.
Whis glanced at Gran, and his expression instantly became mischievous. Oh? You like provoking others? Very well.
Gran instantly sensed danger. Whis was absolutely up to something.
Sure enough
"Lord Beerus, since Gran is now a candidate God of Destruction, he's qualified to attend the meeting. Should we bring him along?"
"No!"
Gran shook his head frantically. He knew Whis had evil intentions.
His strength was still too weak—he absolutely did not want to show his face in front of other Gods of Destruction.
Especially since Beerus had offended so many people. Gran feared he'd be dragged into someone's revenge scheme.
"Forget it," Beerus waved his hand. "Gran is irritating, but better not bring him for now."
"Oh?" Whis feigned confusion.
"Oh my ass! Tease him if you want, but know your limits! Gran is your disciple, too—what if someone kills him?"
Beerus shrank his neck, suddenly a bit guilty. "And you know how many enemies I have."
Gran: "..."
Bulma, who still understood none of this: "..."
"Oh-hohoho~"
Whis chuckled and decided to stop teasing Gran. "Well then, let us be off!"
He stepped beside Beerus, tapped his staff lightly, and the two vanished instantly.
Only Gran and Bulma remained in the dining hall.
Bulma asked in confusion, "Lord Candidate God of Destruction… who exactly is that Grand Zeno you mentioned earlier?"
"Let me put it this way—every God of Destruction, every universe, including us… all their fates are controlled by that one being. He is the supreme god of this entire existence."
Gran didn't worry at all. He simply asked a servant for twenty more bowls of seafood ramen.
He still wasn't full.
"What!?"
Bulma nearly fainted.
Everything these divine beings said kept shattering her worldview. She glanced again at Gran, who was devouring ramen like a beast.
If even her universe's candidate God of Destruction was this fierce and overwhelming…
Then the supreme Zeno who ruled over everything—how incomprehensibly powerful must he be?
...
The God of Destruction Realm of Universe 4
A rat-like figure walked out of the God of Destruction Temple, his entire body radiating thick destructive energy.
Clearly, he had just finished training.
"Lord Quitela, have you finished your cultivation?"
The angel Cognac approached carrying a tray with a towel and a drink.
"Mm."
Quitela grabbed the towel and wiped the sweat from his face, then downed the drink in one gulp.
"It seems your Ultra Instinct has advanced again. Congratulations, Lord Quitela."
"That's enough!"
Quitela's face darkened. "No matter how much I improve, I still can't reach the perfected state!"
Ever since becoming a God of Destruction, he had trained relentlessly. He had pushed himself so far—so why couldn't he perfect Ultra Instinct?
Meanwhile, that damned skinny cat…
"How is it fair?! He's so lazy he can barely move, yet he's the one who perfected Ultra Instinct!"
"And as if that weren't enough—he even learned Autonomous Ultra Instinct!!"
Quitela roared hysterically.
BOOM!
Destruction energy erupted from his body, and the surrounding space of the God of Destruction Realm instantly collapsed.
Cognac waved his staff lightly, restoring the environment in moments.
Even without hearing the name, Cognac knew exactly who Quitela meant.
"Lord Beerus's talent truly is—"
"Enough!"
Quitela sucked in a long breath, then sighed. "Sorry, Cognac. I lost my composure."
"It's fine."
Cognac shook his head. He couldn't help sighing internally—compared to Beerus, his God of Destruction's mental discipline was leagues behind.
"Oh, by the way… I heard Universe 7 recently gained a candidate God of Destruction?" Quitela's eyes narrowed coldly.
