Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Power Levels

There was a faint trace of pride in his voice—subtle, but impossible to miss. Whis and Beerus could clearly tell: Gran hadn't just broken into the Divine Dimensional Tier… his breakthrough was far beyond that.

Beerus and Whis exchanged a glance.

This brat really did have the right to be proud.

"Not bad,"

Whis nodded with satisfaction. "I can see it clearly—your dimension has already reached Peak Divine Level."

Hearing Whis praise him, Gran lifted his chin even higher. With a sideways, smug glance, he added:

"Lord Beerus, I think I can sense that my dimensional tier is about the same as yours now."

Ever since he broke into Peak Divine Level, he could finally sense the "rank" of Beerus's existence.

"..."

Is this kid trying to provoke me on purpose?

Beerus's fist tightened instantly.

"Lord Beerus—wait, what are you doing?"

Gran noticed Beerus's expression and jumped in panic. He hurriedly grabbed Beerus's fist and said with stern seriousness:

"Lord Beerus, we are civilized gods—we can't just hit people whenever."

Seeing that Beerus's hand still hadn't relaxed, Gran swallowed.

"Um… Lord Beerus, does this mean… my lifespan is the same as yours now?"

"Pfft!"

Whis burst into laughter on the spot.

He just lost to Beerus a moment ago, and he still dared to keep poking the tiger?

Truly a brat: weak, but loves to tease.

Beerus was secretly amused too, but as the Strongest God of Destruction, he couldn't lose face. He snorted coldly:

"You're talented, yes. But compared to me, you're still far behind."

"Far behind?"

Gran finally released his hand. Propping his chin in thought, he muttered:

"I've only been in the God of Destruction Realm for twelve years. I'm only eighteen this year."

"Lord Beerus, you're… well, an ancient Destroyer who's lived for over a hundred million years. But my dimension has already caught up to yours, so if you give me a little more time, my power will—"

Bonk!

A knuckle smacked down on his head.

"Ow! Hey!"

Gran clutched his head with an innocent expression. "Why'd you hit me again?"

"Because you're annoying!"

Beerus's teeth itched with frustration. This brat irritated him so much that he actually felt the urge to start training again.

"Um… Lord Beerus, you still haven't answered my question about lifespan."

Gran rubbed his head and shamelessly leaned closer again.

Though Gran was already an adult—and aside from naturally-born deities, the youngest proper god in the entire Omni-King multiverse—he still behaved like a kid who never grew up.

Beerus muttered at the corner of his mouth:

"If only you were still that little kid from back then."

"Why?"

Now that Gran was a god, his hearing was sharp.

"Because hitting you back then felt more satisfying!"

"..."

Bullying a kid—seriously?

Gran rolled his eyes.

Seeing the brat finally shut up, Beerus's mood improved. He said:

"Yes, your dimension has caught up to mine. And yes, your lifespan is now the same as mine. Happy now?"

The moment he said that

Even though Gran already knew, hearing Beerus confirm it made excitement surge through him.

He closed his eyes. He couldn't see his lifespan, but he could feel the overwhelming vitality inside him.

A lifespan of at least a hundred million years…

"Judging by how energetic Lord Beerus looks, he's not dying anytime soon. Which means Lord Beerus probably has at least—"

Bonk!

Another knuckle bounced off his head.

"Ow!"

Watching the two idiots fool around, Whis's mouth twitched.

Why did this guy keep provoking Beerus?

Was he addicted to getting hit?

Or… did eight years of secluded training damage his brain?

—Scene transition—

The three of them lay back on the lounge chairs by the lake. Gran's excitement from emerging out of seclusion slowly settled, and he no longer dared provoke Beerus.

Staring at the sky, he asked seriously:

"Whis, Lord Beerus said earlier that my strength reached the first tier of the Divine Realm. In the Omni-King's multiverse, what level does that put me at?"

When he ascended to godhood, his mortal power converted entirely into divine power. He could tell his strength had skyrocketed—but he still didn't understand what "Divine Realm, First Tier" represented.

Nor did he know how far he was from achieving his dream of punching Beerus and kicking the Omni-King.

"In the entire multiverse?"

Whis paused for a moment.

Then he answered calmly:

"Excluding the Gods of Destruction… you're somewhere around mid-tier."

"What?!"

Gran bolted upright from the chair, stunned. "I'm only mid-tier?!"

You couldn't really blame him.

He knew how monstrous his talent was.

Even Vados and Champa fought over him to become their candidate Destroyer.

He spent eight full years inside the Dimensional Tower.

And this was only mid-tier?!

"What, did you think you were the strongest?"

Beerus let out a mocking laugh.

"You're only First-Tier Divine Realm. The multiverse has countless beings like you. You're still far off."

"..."

Impossible!

In his previous life he never saw the Dragon Ball world full of this many monsters.

Gran's expression darkened.

"Gran," Whis said gently, "Lord Beerus is a bit blunt, but he's not wrong. If we look at all thirteen universes, your current power isn't enough."

Whis glanced at Beerus, then continued:

"The 1st, 12th, 5th, and 8th universes all have a Mortal Level above 7."

"In those four universes, experts are everywhere. Our 7th universe only has a mortal level around the mid-3s. We're nowhere near their league."

"Even with your current strength, you wouldn't stand out in those universes."

Gran knew this was true.

In Dragon Ball Super, those four universes were known as the Supreme, Ultimate, Balanced, and Diligent universes—so strong they didn't even need to join the Tournament of Power.

Nobody knew what kinds of monsters lived there.

"Of course," Whis added, "if we compare you to the remaining eight universes, then yes—your power ranks near the top."

"But you still wouldn't be the strongest."

Whis looked at him.

"Because, from what I've heard recently, in Universe 11 there's a mortal whose strength already surpasses that universe's God of Destruction."

"What?!"

Beerus shot upright from the beach chair.

A mortal who surpassed a Destroyer?

Impossible!

Gran, however, remained calm.

He knew exactly who Whis meant.

Jiren.

The one who stood against Universe 7 alone in the Tournament of Power.

"You don't need to look so shocked," Whis continued. "It's only a rumor. I don't know if it's true."

He glanced toward Universe 11, then retracted his gaze.

"Anyway, Gran, I'll stop teasing you. Earlier, Beerus and I were only referring to your raw power."

"But once you add your Ultra Instinct state and your Divine Dimension…"

"That's a whole different story."
