Gran hadn't placed much hope in the Dragon's power.
He knew all too well that even a being like Porunga had countless limitations. The kinds of wishes he'd been considering—like immortality—were simply impossible to grant.
Even the Super Dragon couldn't do everything. Just look at Zamasu—he wished for immortality, and yet… didn't the Omni-King erase him and the entire future timeline all the same?
Anything not earned through one's own strength would never truly belong to oneself.
Gran's ultimate dream, ever since arriving in this world, had been simple but audacious—to punch Beerus in the face and kick the Omni-King off his throne!
If he depended on external power, how could he ever defeat the Omni-King? How could he truly reach the peak of martial arts?
"Nail, ask it—why can I survive in space?" Gran finally spoke.
"...????"
Everyone turned toward him, wide-eyed.
Just a moment ago, wasn't he about to wish for immortality?
"What are you all staring at? Hurry up and make the wish already!" Gran barked, glaring at them.
To wish for some broken power from the Dragon was meaningless. Forget the Omni-King—against someone like Whis or any of the Angels, even a Dragon-granted ability could be stripped away instantly, or worse, become a liability.
Power that didn't come from oneself wasn't worth having.
But asking the Dragon to clarify a doubt—that was another matter entirely.
After all, Saiyans weren't supposed to be able to survive in the vacuum of space. He needed to find out what was going on with him.
"Yes, sir!"
Nail raised his head toward Porunga and repeated Gran's wish in the Namekian tongue.
Off to the side, Kibito and Supreme Kai Shin both wore dark expressions.
What kind of ridiculous wish was this?
Anyone who reached the King Yemma-level dimension could survive in space naturally. Weren't you already at the peak of the Kai-level dimension? Why even ask something so trivial?
Even Porunga seemed stunned. The great dragon's booming voice hesitated:
"Candidate for God of Destruction… are you certain this is your first wish?"
Gran frowned. "Why? Is there a problem?"
"N–No! No, of course not!"
Porunga wiped a bead of sweat from its massive brow. Who would dare question a future God of Destruction?
It began explaining carefully:
"Candidate, beings like Dragons, Angels, and High Priests—those who command miraculous energy—can indeed grant mortals the ability to survive in space."
Gran clenched his fists. Of course, Whis could've granted him that ability.
But Whis hadn't—and yet, he possessed it anyway.
Could it be that someone else had wished upon the Dragon for Saiyans to survive in space?
If so… who?
Was it because of his transmigration? A butterfly effect he unknowingly caused?
Just as his thoughts spiraled, Porunga continued:
"Alternatively, one may transcend such limitations through cultivation.
"By training your dimension beyond the King Yemma level, you can transcend such physical restrictions. And you, Candidate God of Destruction…
"your dimensional level has already reached the Peak Kai Dimension."
Porunga paused, then rumbled on:
"One more breakthrough, and you'll attain the same dimensional level as the Supreme Kais themselves!"
"That… is why you can survive in the vacuum of space."
BOOM!
Gran's eyes widened, his mind erupting in shock.
He had imagined countless explanations—perhaps another transmigrator, another Saiyan who'd made that wish…
But no.
"My dimension… has reached the Peak Kai level?! That's impossible!"
He stared at his small hands. He'd been in the Dragon Ball world for two years now—never once had he cultivated "dimensional energy."
On the sidelines, Shin and Kibito exchanged glances. They both sensed it—Gran truly had no idea how this had happened.
"Nail! Ask it—why is my dimension at the Peak Kai level?!" Gran demanded.
The first person he'd met upon arriving here was Whis.
Whis had known Gran could survive in space.
That meant Whis knew the reason behind it.
But Gran couldn't wait any longer. He needed answers—now.
"Yes, Candidate!"
Nail relayed his words again in Namekian.
Porunga's eyes began to glow crimson.
Normally, they would flash once and the wish would be fulfilled.
But this time—thirty seconds passed, and the glow didn't fade.
Gran felt his palms grow slick with sweat.
What was going on? Even the Dragon didn't know?
"Candidate for God of Destruction…"
Porunga's red eyes dimmed, and its voice trembled.
"I'm sorry… but I do not know the answer."
BOOM!
Gran's heart sank.
He wasn't asking for omnipotence or to become the universe's number one warrior—just for an explanation of his own body!
And yet even Porunga didn't know?
"Candidate, that was your second wish," Porunga said weakly. "Please make your third. I cannot remain much longer…"
The Grand Elder hurriedly added, "Candidate, Porunga has been summoned for some time already. If you don't make your third wish soon, it will vanish!"
Gran snapped out of it immediately.
"Then my third wish—transfer all remaining Senzu Beans from Earth's Korin Tower to me, but leave a hundred there for them!"
He wasn't heartless—best to leave some behind for the others.
As Porunga's light began to dim, Nail quickly relayed the wish.
Whirr!
Porunga's eyes flashed one final time, and three large jars filled with Senzu Beans appeared beside Gran.
Then, with a streak of divine light, the Dragon's body dissolved, the seven Namekian Dragon Balls scattering once more across the planet.
Meanwhile, on Earth
At Korin Tower, the Cat Hermit was fast asleep in his chair, completely unaware that his precious Senzu Beans had just vanished.
Above the tower floated the Heavenly Realm—the temple where Earth's Gods had resided for generations.
At the edge of that divine platform stood a lone, shadowy figure.
The moment the Senzu Beans disappeared, a flicker of emotion rippled through his calm, ancient gaze.
He slowly lifted his head toward the stars—toward the direction of Planet Namek.
"Peak Kai Dimension… Half Ultra Instinct… First-Stage Instinctive Body…"
A faint, amused smile formed on his lips.
"Interesting… very interesting."
