Chapter 28 - NSDD: Chapter 28

"Alright, the game ends here, it's over." Kurenai Yuhi said again, aiming at Kaoru, Hina, and Shin.

But when she looked at Kaoru, she saw a layer of purple seemingly enveloping the surface of Kaoru's body.

"Is that the ninjutsu this kid uses to protect himself? Interesting." Kurenai Yuhi said softly, waving her hand and shooting out three shuriken in succession.

Facing the flying shuriken, Kaoru leaned back, the shuriken flying past his head.

Because the Dark Shield could only defend against ninjutsu and genjutsu, it had no effect on taijutsu, so Kaoru could only dodge this shuriken directly.

But Hina and Shin didn't see this scene at all. They only saw a petal suddenly flying towards them from the cherry blossoms surrounding them, completely unaware that this petal was actually a shuriken.

By the time they reacted, the shuriken had already pierced their clothes, and then the shuriken's speed didn't decrease, pinning them to the ground.

In the blink of an eye, all three students had fallen to the ground.

"How is it? Do you realize the power of my genjutsu?" Kurenai Yuhi said with her arms crossed, smiling.

"Kurenai-sensei is indeed very powerful!" Shin said with a bitter face.

"Mm!" Hina also nodded. At this moment, the two of them were pinned to the ground, desperately pulling out the shuriken that were stuck in the ground.

"As expected of Kurenai-sensei..." Kaoru patted his butt, stood up, and said with a smile.

"That's for sure!" Kurenai Yuhi was very satisfied with the praise from her three students, but then she reacted, her expression changed, she pointed at Kaoru and asked loudly: "How did you stand up, you little brat?"

"Actually, it's not that amazing." Kaoru touched his head, pretending to be embarrassed and said: "I only barely managed to see through it when the shuriken attacked, so I dodged it. Besides, didn't Kurenai-sensei say that this genjutsu is not high-level?"

Kaoru pretended that he didn't understand, saying foolishly.

Kurenai Yuhi was speechless for a long time. After a moment, she smiled and said: "Although that's what I said, the Sharingan really has innate talent in genjutsu. There was Uchiha Shisui before, then that S-rank wanted criminal, and now it's you."

Uchiha Itachi was already a topic that everyone in the village avoided.

"But it's not bad, having a student who is good at genjutsu. I hope you can learn all of my genjutsu."

She continued, Kurenai Yuhi herself was a genjutsu master, and she hoped that her genjutsu could have a successor. She was naturally very happy to meet a student with a strong talent for genjutsu.

Shin and Hina looked at Kaoru with envy.

"Of course, the other two little guys shouldn't be discouraged. I will teach you the ninjutsu you are good at according to your aptitude, teaching you according to your different characteristics."

The thoughtful Kurenai Yuhi also noticed the unhappiness of the other two students and immediately said with a smile.

Hina and Shin were filled with confidence again after hearing Kurenai Yuhi's words.

"Alright, the genjutsu practice ends here. We should also return to the main topic and go to perform the most important thing for becoming a ninja: carrying out missions!" Kurenai Yuhi said loudly.

"Wow, we can finally carry out ninja missions!" Shin and Hina jumped up excitedly. Carrying out missions meant they had truly become ninjas.

"Alright, alright, I haven't finished speaking yet." Kurenai Yuhi waved her hand and continued: "Missions are divided into five levels according to difficulty and importance: S, A, B, C, D. You are only genin now, and according to the strength of genin, most of you can only perform D-rank missions, and the more powerful ones can perform C-rank missions."

"It's no big deal, a D-rank mission is still a mission. I will definitely complete the mission well with my ninjutsu!" Shin said, clenching his fists.

"Mm, you should have that kind of spirit!" Kurenai Yuhi gave Shin a thumbs up.

"Tomorrow morning, come to this place again to gather. We will carry out our first mission!"

"Okay!" The three little teammates shouted loudly. They cheered and couldn't wait to carry out the new mission.

What will the life of a ninja be like?

After successfully passing the test this time, it was already evening. Kaoru first went to the ninja academy to pick up Wan'er to go home.

When the ninja academy was dismissed, children of the same age as Kaoru ran out of the school. When they saw Kaoru, they greeted him with smiles, and were envious and jealous of Kaoru.

Among the figures talking to Kaoru, Naruto and Sasuke were missing. Naruto didn't come to class at all because he skipped class, while Sasuke was still diligently training in the school's training ground.

The prologue of the story had just begun.

Still the same forest, the next morning, the three members of Team 8 arrived here early. Ninja missions were still a fairly new thing for them.

"I wonder if we will encounter any powerful villains on today's mission." Shin sat on a rock, guessing about today's mission.

"To be honest, I'm both excited and scared to carry out a mission for the first time." Hina said, blushing, then poked Kaoru next to her with her toe, "Little rascal, are you going to say something?"

Kaoru was lying lazily on the grass, ignoring Hina's words. A D-rank mission was probably a very boring thing.

"Not bad, everyone, you all came pretty early." Kurenai Yuhi's figure appeared in front of them. She glanced at the three students and smiled: "It seems everyone is well prepared. Now let's set off and go to the location of our first mission!"

"Let's set off!" Kurenai Yuhi said.

"Okay!" Shin and Hina shouted excitedly, following behind Kurenai Yuhi with glee. Kaoru yawned and could only follow helplessly.

They walked out of the forest and came to the streets of Konoha.

"Are we going out of the village to complete the mission?" Shin was still looking excited.

"But this isn't the road to the gate..."

Hina said in confusion. The road they were taking was getting farther and farther away from the gate.

"No need to guess, we're already here." Kaoru sighed and said. Kurenai Yuhi, who was leading the way, had stopped.

Hina and Shin looked over. At this time, they had actually come to a residential building.

"What does this mean? Are there bad guys inside?" Shin asked with a questioning look.

"Kurenai-sensei, did you take the wrong way?" Hina said weakly.

"That's right." Kurenai Yuhi said with a smile, "Inside this building, there is the person who issued our mission this time."

"Really? I know, I know!" Shin was interested by Kurenai Yuhi's words. He clenched his fists and came to Kurenai Yuhi, looking very excited.

"I saw it written like this in storybooks. When there is an important mission, both sides will choose a place that looks very ordinary to talk, to hide themselves. It seems that it's called... rendezvous, right, Kurenai-sensei?" Shin said, blushing.

Kaoru was speechless. Shin's imagination was quite big.
