Wan'er and Hinata both nodded. Although at first, only their physical prowess remained — far exceeding that of ordinary people, backed by years of combat experience and fighting skills — they quickly regained their composure, especially now that Kaoru had shared his chakra with them. The initial panic faded, replaced by calm confidence.
"Look over there — what is that?"
After walking around the island for a while, Hinata was the first to point toward something ahead.
"A ship?" Kaoru looked in that direction and spotted a weathered vessel lying on the sand. "Quite run-down... and a ship of this design..."
"The ocean here is so vast and wide," Wan'er remarked, still admiring the scenery. "Even the seas in our old world were never this grand and magnificent."
"There's no sign of human activity, nor any footprints or tracks. It seems this ship has been abandoned here for quite some time," Hinata said as she stepped inside the wreck to inspect it.
"Although it's broken, it is still a vessel. If anyone else had landed here, they would have tried to repair and maintain it — it wouldn't have been left in such a state. Also, there are daily supplies still on board; if people had come here, they would surely have taken those things," she continued, analyzing what she saw in the cabin.
"Brother! Look! There's a notebook!" Wan'er called out from inside one of the larger rooms, holding up a dust-covered journal.
"Let me see."
Kaoru opened it and began reading. But after a few lines, his whole body shook violently, as if he had seen something completely unbelievable and shocking.
"What's wrong?"
Wan'er and Hinata, knowing him better than anyone, saw his strong reaction and immediately asked with concern.
"These four words... So that's how it is..."
Kaoru stared intently at the cover of the notebook, where four bold characters were written: The Grand Line.
He took a few deep breaths to steady himself. After searching the rest of the ship and finding nothing else useful, he gathered some usable supplies and returned to the beach.
"I think I know exactly where we are," he said.
"Really? Where is it? Are we very far from our original world?" Wan'er asked quickly.
"No... in fact, we aren't even on the same planet as the Shinobi World anymore. We've traveled to a place incredibly far away," Kaoru replied with a wry smile.
"This place is dominated entirely by the ocean — I'd estimate more than eighty percent of this world is covered by sea.
And unlike the seas we knew, these waters are filled with danger. Even an average shinobi from our world could easily perish out here if they aren't careful."
"Is it really that dangerous?" Hinata looked at him in surprise. In their world, with the power of a ninja, there was almost nowhere one couldn't go.
For Kaoru to say that they might meet their end here... naturally, she was shocked.
It is. This place is called the Grand Line, and it is completely different from the world we came from.
The main powers here are the Revolutionary Army, the World Government, and the Pirates.
The strongest members of each of these factions possess immense power and are extremely dangerous.
But the Grand Line isn't only terrifying because of the people. The sea itself is a mystery and a threat.
From what I know, only one person in history has ever successfully sailed all the way around it.
It is filled with strange creatures, bizarre phenomena, and all kinds of extraordinary abilities.
Kaoru continued, explaining further:
"Generally speaking, the greatest threats we'll face are three types of people: Sword Masters, Devil Fruit Users, and Haki practitioners."
"I understand what a Sword Master is — someone who excels with a blade. But what are Devil Fruit Users and Haki practitioners?" Hinata asked curiously.
"There exists a legendary treasure here called the Devil Fruit. Anyone who eats one gains a unique power — such as controlling fire or lightning, or turning their body into rubber. Those who possess such powers are known as Devil Fruit Users.
Then there is Haki, a system of power unique to this world, just as chakra was unique to ours.
Haki is divided into three types: There's Conqueror's Haki, possessed only by born leaders and kings.
Observation Haki, which allows one to sense the presence of others, predict movements, or even hear the voices of all things.
And Armament Haki, which grants impenetrable defense and the power to cut or break through almost anything..."
Hearing this, Hinata's expression turned grave. They were outsiders here, and their own powers were severely restricted. Being thrown into such a powerful and unfamiliar world made her deeply worried.
And she wasn't the only one — even Wan'er now felt a heavy sense of danger looming over them.
"It is very dangerous," Kaoru admitted.
"Aside from the corrupt and cruel Marines and the lawless Pirates, just the unpredictable weather patterns and the massive Sea Kings in the ocean are trouble enough.
And who knows what strange things we might find on the islands as well. Though... for me right now, none of it is truly unmanageable."
He stood up and walked toward the treeline.
"Regardless, let's find some food first. Later, I'll explain everything there is to know about the Grand Line in detail."
"Alright!"
The two women nodded and followed him into the forest.
"No matter where we are, or what dangers we face... I truly believe that as long as you two are with me, everything will turn out fine. This world may seem vast, but sooner or later, it too will belong to us."
Kaoru spoke with the same unshakable confidence he had always shown.
...
After they had eaten their fill, Kaoru told them everything he knew about the Grand Line.
"Now... it's time for us to leave this small island," Kaoru said, walking to the shore and gazing out at the boundless ocean.
"But how do we leave?" Hinata asked, confused.
"The sea stretches endlessly in every direction. If we tried to run on water using chakra, we wouldn't get very far before running out of energy."
"There's no need for such trouble. We'll just build a ship."
A faint smile appeared on Kaoru's lips. He waved his hand.
"TRUTH-SEEKING BALLS!"
Black spheres instantly materialized around his body. Then, they began to shift, merge, and solidify, rapidly transforming into a large, pitch-black vessel.
WHOOSH!
The massive ship landed gently on the surface of the sea, sending waves crashing in all directions.
"A ship made from Truth-Seeking Balls... it should be durable enough," Kaoru said with a smirk. He stepped aboard, and Wan'er and Hinata quickly followed.
Once on deck, Hinata used her Tenseigan to scan the horizon for a suitable destination.
She spotted another island in the distance and pointed it out. Guided by Kaoru, the ship set sail in that direction.
Before long, the sound of continuous cannon fire reached their ears. It seemed a fierce battle was taking place just ahead.
"Already running into trouble... If those are pirate ships, I'll just sink them first," Kaoru thought to himself. Then he turned to the girls, half-joking.
"Most pirates in the Grand Line are ruthless and cruel. Only a very small number actually sail the seas chasing dreams of freedom or adventure. The rest are nothing but thieves and murderers who plunder, kidnap, and do every kind of evil. You two are far too beautiful — you'd likely become the cause of battles wherever you go."
"Always so sweet with your words!" Hinata replied, though her face lit up with pleasure. Being praised so highly by her husband was something she truly enjoyed.
"I'm telling the truth," Kaoru said seriously. "Treasure, weapons, food, rare items... and women, especially beautiful women, are the things most likely to spark war and bloodshed here."
Hinata knew well how striking her appearance was; she had faced unwanted attention many times in the Shinobi World too.
She hadn't yet fought an enemy from this world, but she knew they had to be cautious if they encountered powerful pirates. Her gaze sharpened as she looked toward the fighting ahead.
As their ship drew closer, the scene became clear. Two Marine warships were surrounding and attacking a lone figure standing in a small boat.
"That is..."
Kaoru stared at the young man, who looked to be in his late teens. His eyes were sharp and piercing, keener than an eagle's. Instantly, a name came to mind.
"Dracule Mihawk."
"He's still just a teenager now... but without a doubt, this is the future World's Strongest Swordsman, 'Hawk-Eye' Mihawk."
"So those are the Marines? Just like you said... they sure love ganging up on people," Wan'er remarked.
"Should we help him?" Hinata asked, looking at Kaoru. In this strange new world, his judgment mattered most.
"Of course we will."
Kaoru smiled and nodded.
