Chapter 32 - Chapter 32

The Pokémon distributed to Rookie Trainers in each Region are generally called Starter Pokémon.

But don't think that these kinds of Pokémon are everywhere just because the Pokémon League gives them to beginners.

On the contrary, in the wild, under normal circumstances, it's almost impossible to encounter any of the Big Three.

The League's generosity in giving out the three starters as beginner Pokémon has its reasons.

One is that they have a special breeding and training base.

Another is that the Trainers who receive the Big Three have actually paid for them.

Do you really think the League does charity?

In the wild, the chance of meeting one of the three starters is extremely low.

But now, within just a few days, Ash had met another one.

This was insane luck! It was the kind of luck that could drive people crazy!

"This Charmander looks so lifeless!"

Serena said with concern, looking at the listless Charmander.

Ash nodded and replied while observing closely, "Looks like he hasn't eaten for a while."

"I don't know why this Charmander is here on the rocks... and it looks like he has a Trainer."

Ash vaguely remembered that in the original story, there was an extremely strong Charizard.

But he didn't remember much detail.

Besides, it had been years since he watched it, and he was never that big of a fan of the anime to begin with.

At best, he only remembered a rough outline.

The reason he could tell this Charmander had a Trainer was, of course, because of the system's detection function.

[Name: Charmander]

[Gender: Male]

Trainer: Damian

[Attribute: Fire]

[Level: Ordinary Intermediate]

Ability: Blaze

[Skills: Ember, Tackle, Growl, Scratch]

[Talent: Champion]

Special Move: None

[Entries: Talented (Gold), Self-Improvement (Gold), Dragon Power (Red), Arrogant (Blue)]

[Talented (Gold): You possess abilities that surpass any other Charmander. When your strength reaches the Elite level, your aptitude will automatically rise to the Divine Realm.]

[Unwavering Self-Improvement (Gold): No matter how difficult the situation, your willpower never wavers, and you continue to grow stronger.

The stronger your will, and the closer your body gets to its limits, the faster your strength increases.

Current rate of increase: 50%–300%.

As willpower increases, both lower and upper limits will continue to rise.]

[Dragon Power (Red): You possess innate mastery of dragon energy. You can learn Dragon-type moves faster, and their power is increased by 50%.]

[Arrogant (Blue): As your strength increases, your pride grows as well. There's a chance you'll disobey Trainer commands and look down on rivals. However, because of this overwhelming self-confidence, strength growth speed increases by 5%, and overall combat power increases by 3%.]

Another starter Pokémon with an incredibly luxurious set of entries—this one even more outrageous than Bulbasaur's!

Not only did it possess Champion-level talent by default,

But once it reached the Champion level, it would directly ascend to Divine Realm talent!

Even though it had only one core effect, it was absolutely worthy of being a golden entry.

According to Ash's current understanding of Pokémon across the world,

There had never been a single ordinary Pokémon whose aptitude could reach the Divine Realm level!

The term "Divine Realm" is reserved for naming the first-tier gods.

This world actually had a hidden method of testing a Pokémon's qualifications,

But it was never made public.

Because once that method was officially introduced, many Trainers would start releasing their weaker Pokémon.

Not every Trainer could accept that their partner had poor potential.

But according to the League's research,

It was impossible for any ordinary Pokémon to reach the Divine Realm level.

That was a realm that only the gods themselves could touch.

For that reason, in the entire world, no ordinary Pokémon had ever achieved that talent level.

That realm was reserved for Legendary Pokémon alone.

However, it was said that there was a man named Leon in the Galar Region.

The Trump Card Pokémon in his hands was rumored to be close to Legendary class.

Even so, it remained true that, across the entire world, no ordinary Pokémon had ever reached the Divine Realm.

And yet this Charmander's talent could allow it to do exactly that!

Although the conditions were strict,

Compared to the result, those requirements were nothing.

The following entries were just as terrifying.

Frogadier's upgrade speed before the Elite level was 80%, which was already considered fast.

But Charmander's growth speed could reach 300%!

And there was no level restriction!

Even the minimum boost of 50% was astonishing.

As his willpower increased, Charmander's base improvement rate would only grow faster.

The closer he pushed his body to its limit, the faster his strength would skyrocket!

Golden-grade legend indeed, fully deserving of its name!

The Dragon Power entry spoke for itself—simple and brutally effective.

As for Arrogant... well, if this were Ash's own Pokémon,

He'd definitely want to replace that entry eventually.

But this Charmander already had a Trainer.

And Ash wasn't the type to steal another person's Pokémon.

So, even though it was a pity, he decided not to try catching this Charmander.

After all, it already belonged to someone else—how could he take it?

"So this Charmander has a Trainer? That makes sense. There's no way a normal wild Charmander would be in such a remote place."

Misty agreed with Ash's assessment.

It was nearly impossible to meet any of the starters in the wild.

This one almost certainly had a Trainer.

Serena squatted down and looked at Charmander curiously. "Charmander, do you have a Trainer? Where is he?"

"Lili~"

Charmander let out a weak growl.

Serena turned toward Ash with confusion in her eyes.

She couldn't understand what Charmander said,

So she looked at Ash expectantly, waiting for a translation.

"Charmander said he has a Trainer. His Trainer told him to wait here, and he'll be back soon."

Ash translated Charmander's words softly.

At that moment, he gave up completely in his heart.

He had thought maybe Charmander had mistaken him for his Trainer.

The system's Trainer detection was based on the Pokémon's recognition, not the Poké Ball itself.

Even if a Pokémon was caught in a Poké Ball, if it didn't acknowledge its Trainer,

Then the Trainer's name wouldn't appear in the system's data.

Since Charmander said that himself, that meant he truly did have a Trainer.

What a shame.

A Charmander with such godlike talent... just slipped out of his reach.
